He stated that he had struck interference near the 350m and after this his mount had lost ground to a position whereby hard riding over the concluding stages would not have benefited the gelding obtaining a better placing in the field. Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight GAG ORDER (B. Stewart) was held up for a run and not able to improve.
When questioned in relation to the performance of NOROCOS, M. Cahill explained that his mount hung in in the early stages and was reluctant to race inside runners. He stated that in the middle stages his mount had commenced to hang out badly with him and raced wide on the track, expressing disappointment in its performance. He added that NOROCOS may not have backed up from its last run at Doomben on 18 December.
When questioned in relation to the performance of ZIPPY LOU, J. Taylor explained that his mount was first up from a short spell and stated that his mare did not show its customary early speed and was forced to ride his mount along vigorously in the early stages in order to race in a forward position. Wolfgram), which lost running to which it was rightfully entitled, had to be checked and struck the heels of that gelding. Apprentice K. Ashton’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, to commence following her engagements at Warwick on Sunday, 26 December 2010, and to expire at midnight on Sunday, 2 January 2011. In considering penalty, stewards took into account her guilty plea and her previous good riding record.
