Race 1: SOUTHERN CROSS FORD CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1200M
1st – Redibis 2nd – Carry Me Bluey 3rd – Regal Ruben 4th – Tiz Corey

Track temperature: 24 degrees Celsius

On jumping CARRY ME BLUEY (K. Banks) and BASTION POINT (W. Clasohm) came together and shortly after BASTION POINT became unbalanced when bumped again by CARRY ME BLUEY which was taken out by SPIRIT AT SEA (N. Tomizawa).

A post-race veterinary examination of EARLY UP (J. Letherby), which weakened in the straight, failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Race 2: BBQ WITH THE BULLDOGS CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1000M
1st – Conahy 2nd – Looks Like Deano 3rd – Fantastic Bella 4th – Swiss Strike

Track temperature: 23 degrees Celsius

LOOKS LIKE DEANO (S. Richardson) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start SKYIELD (J. Letherby) was bumped by SPECIAL AURA (T. Gray).

SWISS STRIKE (N. Yamada) was slow to muster speed in the early stages.

Near the 900m SPECIAL AURA was taken in slightly on to SKYIELD and then lost ground when being restrained to avoid the heels of RAKU TU (K. Ashton), which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice K. Ashton was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Near the 200m RAKU TU, which was placed close to the heels of FALLIS (R. Goltz), had to be shifted out slightly when FALLIS shifted out and as a result it bumped MIDNIGHT SHIRAZ (K. Yoshida).

Shortly after straightening SKYIELD was held up behind LOOKS LIKE DEANO and to the inside of SPECIAL AURA and then after the 200m again was badly held up when unable to obtain clear running. As a result SKYIELD went to the line without being fully tested.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FLASH JESTER, S. Bogenhuber explained that the horse raced in a forward position as expected, however it was racing on the cushion track for the first time in its career. She added that the horse gave her the feeling that it was not comfortable and never travelled on the bit at any stage in the race. She further stated that despite the horse having worked well and racing competitively on grass surfaces, in her opinion the horse was not suited racing on this surface in tonight's event.

Race 3: SNOOZE TOOWOOMBA CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1500M
1st – Korgold 2nd – Ramani 3rd – Private Lad 4th – Coopers Comet

Track temperature: 22 degrees Celsius.

FRENCH SUSPECT (A. Best) was slow to begin and then was checked when PRIVATE LAD (S. Richardson) shifted in despite its rider's efforts.

After the 500m RAMANI (G. Geran) was disappointed for a run where there was insufficient room between PRINCESS WURABINDA (R. Hancock) and KORGOLD (R. Goltz).

On straightening, SARCASTICALLY (S. Bogenhuber), which was weakening, became badly unbalanced when bumped heavily from the inside by RAMANI which after establishing itself to the outside of the heels of PRIVATE LAD then had to be shifted out further when PRIVATE LAD shifted out slightly. Whilst stewards conceded that initially there was a run for RAMANI to improve, G. Geran, the rider of that runner, was advised to ensure that there is sufficient racing room when improving his position in future.

Race 4: K&R PLUMBING QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE - 1000M
1st – Pasada 2nd – Stay Put 3rd – My Calendar Girl 4th – Amber Rae

Track temperature: 19 degrees Celsius.

MAKALON (R. Goltz) was slow to begin and shortly after got its head up when being restrained.

Near the 700m MAKALON was restrained to avoid the heels of PASADA (K. Ashton) which shifted out slightly away from the heels of EMMZ AMELIA (A. Best).

Race 5: THE LASTSTRIDE.COM OPEN HANDICAP - 1050M
1st – Tycoon Tattoo 2nd – Silver Scholar 3rd – Fidakat 4th – Tripitz

Track temperature: 19 degrees Celsius.

No racing incidents.

Race 6: VANDERFIELD'S TOOWOOMBA MAIDEN PLATE - 1100M
1st – Forever Gentle 2nd – Saint Faustina 3rd – Little Nugat 4th – Little Flute

Track temperature: 18 degrees Celsius.

KARASUMI KING (T. Fujinuma) jumped awkwardly.

Near the 900m FOREVER GENTLE (R. Goltz) was taken in after being bumped by SAINT FAUSTINA (A. Best). A. Best was advised to exercise more care. Shortly after this VISCOUNTABLE (J. Letherby) got its head up when being restrained off the heels of MORE THAN CURLY (J. Warrington) and shifted out abruptly resulting in LITTLE FLUTE (A.Taylor) to its outside having to be checked.

Near the 400m MORE THAN CURLY had to be steadied when crowded for room between LITTLE FLUTE and QUEEN ROSE (G. Geran) which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of SUN KINGDOM (N. Tomizawa).

Race 7: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1850M
1st – Greys A Rockin 2nd – I Love Tobouggie 3rd – Just A Glamour 4th – Eat More Dust

Track temperature: 18 degrees Celsius.

I LOVE TOBOUGGIE (J. Letherby) stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.

Near the 900m JUST A GLAMOUR (N. Evans) began to race keenly and had to be shifted out away from the heels of EAT MORE DUST (R. Goltz).

Apprentice B. Richardson (BRUNCHER), which finished 5th, was reprimanded for failing to weigh in.
