Race 1: Ged Cosgrove Memorial Class 1 H'cap - 1200m
1st – Check The Leader 2nd – Super Felix 3rd – 4th – Smart Of Course

Track temperature: 25 degrees Celsius

Due to a communication error, S. Egan, the declared rider for MEDIA TART, was unavailable due to riding commitments at Warwick. As no other rider was available, MEDIA TART was withdrawn at 3.10 pm.

Also as a result of a communication error, B. Richardson was unavailable to ride HONOURDO due to riding commitments at Gatton. Permission was given for S. Arnold to ride HONOURDO.

As a number of riders were late arriving on course from other venues, and to avoid having to withdraw horses, permission was given for those riders to weigh out later than usual. As a result of this, the start of this race was delayed some 3 minutes.

As the gates were released, FOREVER GENTLE, which was leaning back in its stall, was slow to begin.

HONOURDO (S. Arnold) missed the start.

In the early stages, BANDERIN (M. O'Brien) raced keenly and near the 1000m bumped with SHOCKING BLUE (G. Geran), which shifted in. Following this, BANDERIN hung out making the turn near the 900m and continued to do so for some distance.

HONOURDO (S. Arnold) raced keenly in the middle stages.

Race 2: The Jenelle Webster Class 4 H'cap – 1200m
1st –Great Man 2nd – He Is Loyal 3rd – Titanium Rock 4th – Delago Pilli

Track temperature: 20 degrees Celsius

RED AMIGO, which was kicked by another runner behind the barriers, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.

TITANIUM ROCK (T. Fujinuma) jumped away awkwardly and threw its head up and shifted out abruptly.

On straightening, BUBBLED (S. Arnold) was crowded for room between HE IS LOYAL (K. Yoshida) and RED AMIGO (K. Banks), which shifted out.

Race 3: Tatts Hotel Courtesy Bus Now Available Maiden H'cap – 1200m
1st –Lonesome Day 2nd – Rockin Appeal 3rd – Show Flight 4th – Monde Bijou

Track temperature: 15 degrees Celsius.

On jumping away, MISS RAJEAL (J. Kehoe) was checked when crowded between SET THE BAR (G. Geran), which was taken in slightly by BELLESPY (M. Abe), and BOUNTY MISS (N. Tomizawa), which shifted out away from ROCKIN APPEAL (S. Bogenhuber).

LITTLE SCHATZI (M. O'Brien) was very slow to begin.

Near the 800m, SET THE BAR (G. Geran), which was racing keenly and hanging in, was checked away from the heels of TWO AND A HALF MEN (K. Yoshida).

ROCKIN APPEAL raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 700m, SET THE BAR, whilst racing keenly, was again checked off the heels of TWO AND A HALF MEN. For some distance after this, SET THE BAR hung in badly.

Passing the 400m, ROCKIN APPEAL hung out across the heels of MONDE BIJOU.

Race 4: Racq Careflight Gala Ball Class 2 H'cap – 1500m
1st – Golden Hut 2nd – Hootilla 3rd – Chillabundy 4th – Check The Leader

Track temperature: 13 degrees Celsius.

MECCA BAH (A. Nicholls) stood flatfooted at the start when the gates were released and lost considerable ground. As the horse has a recent history of missing the start, trainer M. Lakey was advised that he would be required to provide a barrier certificate for the gelding prior to its next race start.

CHILLABUNDY (J. Letherby) began awkwardly and got its head up.

In the early and middle stages, PRIVATE LAD (S. Bogenhuber) raced very keenly and brushed the running rail on a number of occasions.

In the middle stages, RAMANI (G. Geran) raced wide without cover.

Near the 400m, GOLDEN HUT (R. Goltz) was accidentally struck on the nose by the whip of G. Geran, rider of RAMANI, on 2 occasions.

Race 5:TTC Young Members Maiden H'cap – 1625m
1st – Fortuitous Blade 2nd – Ballistic 3rd – Javaries 4th - Towser

Track temperature: 8 degrees Celsius

As S Apthorpe was to be overweight, permission was granted for J. Kehoe to be substituted as the rider of AMOREENA. S. Apthorpe was fined $100.

As L. Williams was injured, A Best was substituted as the rider of BALLISTIC.

Correct weight was delayed to enable A. Best, rider of the 2nd placegetter, to view the video of the race over the concluding stages to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge a protest against the winner, FORTUITOUS BLADE. Subsequently, A. Best declined to lodge a protest.

JAVARIES (G. Geran) was slow to begin.

After leaving the 1200m, the saddle on SILVER TONGUE (T. Fujinuma) shifted forward badly when being restrained. T. Fujinumina then had little control over his mount and endeavoured to shift out to avoid disadvantaging the remainder of the field. When he did this, ANARCHIST (K. Yoshida) and AMOREENA (J. Kehoe), which were racing to the outside, were unable to be restrained and shift in. Consequently, both were taken to the outside of the track, resulting in ANARCHIST and AMOREENA losing considerable ground. In the circumstances, stewards were satisfied T. Fujinumina had little control over his mount at this point and took no action.

For some distance after the 600m, ATLANTA QUEEN (R. Goltz) hung out.

Near the 400m, JAVARIES (G. Geran) shifted in abruptly and was checked away from the heels of ATLANTA QUEEN.
Race 6: Central Jewellers QTIS 3yo Class 3 Plate – 1625m
1st – Dark Secrets 2nd – Starburst 3rd – Coronado 4th – Random Orbit

Track temperature: 8 degrees Celsius.

Trainer K. Hickmott advised stewards that he instructed apprentice M. O'Brien not to carry the whip on BACK TO ABILENE as, in his opinion, the gelding resents the use of the whip.

BACK TO ABILENE (M. O'Brien) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

In the middle stages, due mainly to the pace, DARK SECRETS (G. Geran) began to overrace and shifted out, taking SMASHING BOTTLES (B. Richardson) wider. CORONADO (R. Goltz), which was also following, raced very keenly.

Race 7: XXXX Gold Class 5 H'cap – 1625m
1st – Ghostnthedarkness 2nd – Tristabrave 3rd – Hidden Assets 4th – Artsecrets

Track temperature: 8 degrees Celsius.

STRIKING ROSE (B. Richardson), which was standing with its head to the side, began awkwardly and lost a little ground.

ARTSECRETS (M. Abe) was slow to begin and then raced wide without cover throughout.
