Race 1: Young Membership Now Available Class 2 H'cap – 1300m
1st – Blow A Kiss 2nd – Forever Gentle 3rd – O'Reilly's Gold 4th – Grain Trader
Track temperature: 20 degrees Celsius
Whilst parading to the barrier, T. Fujinuma was dislodged from BLOW A KISS. The gelding was quickly recaptured near the 1600m shute. A veterinary examination of BLOW A KISS passed it suitable to race.
GRAIN TRADER (R. Goltz) was slow to begin and was then checked between FOREVER GENTLE (K. Ashton) and GRAND HOMME (M. Reuben), which shifted in.
STEALING KISSES (J. Letherby) began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping ALERTS (N. Yamada).
O'REILLY'S GOLD (K. Yoshida) stumbled shortly after the start.
Approaching the 1000m, AMBUSHED (S. Wiseman) commenced to race very keenly and had to be checked off the heels of BLOW A KISS (T. Fujinuma) and shifted out, causing a slight inconvenience to FOREVER GENTLE (K. Ashton).
PROTO (A. Best) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Near the 800m, ALERTS (N. Yamada) had to be eased when crowded for room between KORGOLD (L. Cumberland) and EARLY UP (W. D'Avila), which shifted in slighty. W. D'Avila, rider of EARLY UP, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Race 2: Sedl Agencies Maiden H'cap – 1625m
1st – Java Bay 2nd – Maianbar 3rd – Ballistic 4th – Silver Tongue
Track temperature: 17 degrees Celsius
As N. Evans was unable to fulfil his engagement due to riding at another venue, J. Letherby was substituted as the rider of CORNESS.
After being placed in the stalls, ANARCHIST (P. Wolfgram) was very fractious and kicked out on a number of occasions.
Near the 1500m, when being steadied, CORNESS (J. Letherby) got its head up, proving very difficult to settle and ran out badly, resulting in NUGGETS NOT ROCKS (R. Goltz) and JAVARIES (L. Cumberland) being carried wider.
Passing the 1200m, MAIANBAR (K. Yoshida), shifted out when being restrained off the heels of ANARCHIST (P. Wolfgram).
Near the 900m, BALLISTIC (A. Best) was eased to avoid the heels of UNFASHIONABLE (W. Abbey), which shifted in when not properly clear. W. Abbey, rider of UNFASHIONABLE, was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 800m, CORNESS again got its head up and shifted out.
Jockey P. Wolfgram explained that ANARCHIST was very fractious in the barriers and, in his opinion, was showing signs of being in season. He added that in the straight the mare did not stretch out behind. A post race veterinary examination of ANARCHIST failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Near the 300m, STARBURST (A. Best) endeavoured to shift out and in doing so bumped heavily with SOSUEME (L. Cumberland).
FORTUITOUS BLADE (N. Yamada) hung out throughout, and on straightening jockey N. Yamada then changed the whip through to his left hand, and in doing so the gelding shifted in momentarily, bumping COOPERS COMET (K. Ashton).

For some distance after the 600m, VANGUARD (N. Tomizawa) hung in and was reluctant to switch out from behind MARIA LAURINA (J. Letherby).
On straightening, HARGRAVE endeavoured to shift to the outside of POCKET THE MONEY and was disappointed for clear running. Jockey A. Best then endeavoured to shift HARGRAVE to the inside of POCKET THE MONEY and was again disappointed when that horse shifted in. As a consequence, HARGRAVE was not fully tested in the straight.
Race 6: A & G Sheds Maiden Plate – 1100m
1st –Rockin Appeal 2nd – Bellespy 3rd – Show Fight 4th – Aside
Track temperature: 14 degrees Celsius.

After leaving the 900m, FRENCH NOBLE (W. Abbey) and PUKEKURA BOY (S. Apthorpe) were crowded for room to the inside of FIRST PIPEMAJOR (N. Yamada), which after initially shifting in of its own accord was then unable to relieve the pressure when AMANDAS GRACE (W. D'Avila) shifted in slightly. Under the circumstances, no action was taken.
After leaving the 400m, AMANDAS GRACE was inconvenienced slightly when bumped by ROCKIN APPEAL (R. Goltz), which shifted out to improve.
For a major part of the straight, ISLE DE PINES (K. Ashton) had difficulty obtaining clear running.
