Race 2: A fine of $300.
Race 3. A fine of $100
Race 5. Suspension of his licence to ride in races for 8 meetings to commence immediately and to expire at the conclusion of the Ipswich day meeting on Friday, 20 January 2012.

GENERAL
As W. Clasohm was ill, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
Race 1: VANDERFIELD TOOWOOMBA CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Big Jet Plane 2nd – Langelinie 3rd – Peace Talks 4th – Skytana
Track temperature: 45 degrees Celsius.
S. Drake replaced J. Warrington as the rider of SILVERBERG. J. Warrington's explanation was accepted.
As no other senior rider was available, Stewards permitted apprentice J. Letherby to replace W. Clasohm as the rider of LANGELINIE.
SEQUALO MIX (N. Nishio) stood flat-footed and lost ground at the start.
Near the 650m PEACE TALKS (N. Tomizawa) and TYPHOON BLUE (S. Egan) bumped on a number of occasions due to both horses shifting ground.
S. Bogenhuber, the rider of BREWER, dropped her whip near the 450m.
In the early part of the home straight NIGHT WANDERER (K. Yoshida) had difficulty obtaining clear running and eventually had to be shifted out near the 200m to obtain clear running.
Z. Landry (ILLUDE) was questioned regarding the tactics adopted from leaving the 500m until well into the straight. Jockey Landry explained that the gelding was resuming from a lengthy spell and the horse usually races over a significantly greater distance than today's event. She said throughout the event the gelding dropped the bit on a number of occasions and struggled to maintain contact with the remainder of the field for the first half of the race. She added that after the 500m she was unable to remain racing outside the heels of NOELA'S ROMP (S. Richardson) and when that horse shifted out just prior to straightening she elected to shift back in when the horse again appeared to pick up the bit and began to travel. She added that on straightening, whilst there was a run in front of her to improve, she was concerned that GIMMEMORE (R. Goltz) was shifting ground and may have caused her inconvenience, but when able to secure a run before the 200m to the outside of that horse she rode it out hands and heels to the finish. Stewards advised jockey Landry that her riding rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight had come under notice and acknowledged that whilst she had only resumed race riding after a significant time out of the saddle, she was expected to show more vigour and initiative than she did on this occasion.
Race 2: CHOICE HOME LOANS BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Stop Lying 2nd – Tycoon's Pride 3rd – Ponzi Scheme 4th – Canadian Joy
Track temperature: 43 degrees Celsius.
FIDAKAT (N. Tomizawa) began awkwardly, bounded in the air and lost ground at the start.
In the early and middle stages PONZI SCHEME (K. Yoshida) raced extremely wide, was trapped off the track and consequently was ridden in an endeavour to go forward and find a position closer to the rail.
Apprentice N. Nishio (SEVENTH HEART) was reprimanded for shifting out rounding the home turn when barely clear of VERRIDON (R. Goltz), causing that horse to be steadied.
Race 3: K & R PLUMBING CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Bellespy 2nd – Griffith Lad 3rd – Black Leg Bay 4th – Hey Diddlediddle
Track temperature: 35 degrees Celsius.
RETRACTED (J. Warrington) was tightened and TANZINA (J. Brown) had to be checked when crowded on jumping between GRIFFITH LAD (N. Yamada) and BELLESPY (J. Letherby).
After being caught very wide in the early stages without cover, BELLESPY was allowed to stride forward after the 1300m and eventually crossed to find the lead.
Making the turn from the 600m GRIFFITH LAD hung in.
N. Evans (AUBURN GOLD) explained that from the inside draw he was of the understanding the instructions were to try and find cover with the horse. He said in the early stages he allowed runners drawn to his outside to cross him in an endeaviour to try and follow BLACK LEG BAY (S. Bogenhuber) which he thought was a fancied runner in the race. He said after this AUBURN GOLD appeared to resent the kickback from the track and never travelled at any stage and dropped the bit. He said after the 600m when he commenced to place the filly under pressure it failed to respond and in his opinion was extremely disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of AUBURN GOLD (N. Evans) revealed no abnormalities.
Race 4: PALM LAKES RESORT QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Darlington County 2nd – Purest Haven 3rd – Aragon 4th – Jo's Luck
Track temperature: 28 degrees Celsius.
In the early stages ARAGON (J. Brown), which was slow to begin and having its first start, then had difficulty maintaining contact with main part of the field.
Jockey N. Tomizawa, the rider of JO'S LUCK, which finished 4th, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 137(b) in that over the concluding stages of the race he failed to ride his horse out right to the end of the race. Such actions, in the opinions of the Stewards, resulted in JO'S LUCK, which was beaten by a nose, not obtaining third place. N. Tomizawa was fined $1000.
Race 5: SEDL AGENCIES CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1300M
1st – Granzella 2nd –Temple Court 3rd – Peterhof 4th – Whisprian
Track temperature: 25 degrees Celsius.
MOUNTAIN OF GOLD (J. Letherby) jumped away awkwardly.
Near the 900m PETERHOF (N. Tomizawa), which was racing keenly, had to be steadied off the heels of ROCKIN APPEAL (P. Wolfgram).
Race 6: SOUTHERN CROSS FORD MAIDEN H’CAP – 1300M
1st – Philocracy 2nd – Sir Scissors 3rd – Bundu Boy 4th – Scarlet Witch
Track temperature: 24 degrees Celsius.
FLYING FEA (S. Egan), which refused to be loaded, was declared a late scratching at 7.58 p.m. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on FLYING FEA be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers as follows:
0 cent in the dollar for the Win – PHILOCRACY
3 cents in the dollar for place of winner – PHILOCRACY
5 cents in the dollar for 2nd place – SIR SCISSORS
4 cents in the dollar for 3rd place – BUNDU BOY
Trainer K. Kelly was advised that FLYING FEA will be required to obtain 2 further barrier certificates, one of which must be obtained in an official barrier trial.
EUREKA STRIKE (S. Bogenhuber) blundered badly at the start.
In the early and middle stages BUNDU BOY (R. Goltz) raced very keenly and then near the 900m shifted out and was checked off the heels of EUREKA STRIKE.
EUREKA STRIKE gave ground from the 600m and in the home straight was eased down. A post-race veterinary examination of EUREKA STRIKE revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that the gelding will be required to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and he is to provide a veterinary clearance, including the results of and ECG, prior to the horse's next start.
