Race 1: CUSHION TRACK CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1000M
1st – Latin American 2nd – Dark Charger 3rd – Monde Bijou 4th – Captain Fun
Track temperature: 22 degrees Celsius
Connections advised that SPARTANEOUS (C. Eaton) would be ridden off the pace. The horse was ridden accordingly.
MR GREEDY (C. Maund) began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hind quarters of THE ZEDHORSE (G. Geran).
TOLEDO EXPRESS (N. Evans) was checked on jumping between LATIN AMERICAN (S. Bogenhuber) and CAPTAIN FUN (N. Tomizawa) which shifted out.
DO AS I COMMAND (N. Yamada) was slow to begin.
Approaching the winning post MONDE BIJOU (D. Robinson) and CAPTAIN FUN raced tight between LATIN AMERICAN and DARK CHARGER (J. Brown), which shifted in slightly.
Race 2: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1200M
1st – Zing And Zip 2nd – Punters Corner 3rd – Run Away Ruby 4th – Edwardscissorhands

Connections advised that PUNTERS CORNER (G. Goold) would be ridden off the pace. The horse was ridden accordingly.
On jumping, THEGREATANDTHEGOOD (N. Nishio) began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hind quarters of MY MATE SULLY (G. Geran).
PERFECT DAYS (M. Abe) was slow to begin.
Near the 900m PUNTERS CORNER was checked on the inside of MY MATE SULLY which, when racing keenly, got its head up and hung in away from the heels of DEEP HEAT (M. O'Brien) which had shifted across when properly clear. Whilst the check was of some significance to PUNTERS CORNER, Stewards were satisfied that the actions of jockey Geran (MY MATE SULLY) were satisfactory in endeavouring to avoid the interference occurring. In the circumstances no action was taken. In this incident, UNCLE HEAVEN (S. Drake), which was following, was also inconvenienced.
Near the 500m MY MATE SULLY, which was racing ungenerously, was shifted away from the heels of DEEP HEAT (M. O'Brien) and in doing so bumped the hind quarters of THEGREATANDTHEGOOD.
Race 3: TOOWOOMBA SHADE & CANVAS BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 1300M
1st – Primed 2nd – Equissential 3rd – Grain Trader 4th – Double Rise
Track temperature: 19 degrees Celsius
Near the 900m SEEYOU SEEYOU (N. Yamada), which was hanging in, brushed the running rail for some distance.
In the straight SEEYOU SEEYOU hung in badly and proved difficult to ride out.
Race 4: SOUTHERN CROSS TEN MAIDEN PLATE – 850M
1st – Rahula 2nd – Monjaya Boy 3rd – Angelina 4th – Mizrachi
Track temperature: 19 degrees Celsius
On jumping TIME FOR INDI (N. Yamada) was checked between CONCEALED WEAPON (N. Evans) and AUCHENFLOWER (N. Nishio), both of which shifted ground.
N. Tomizawa (ANGELINA) was fined $100 under AR. 137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip in consecutive strides in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.
Race 5: PALM LAKES RESORT QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Obliviate 2nd – Ellawisdom 3rd – Real Dynamite 4th – Apache Cloud
Track temperature: 18 degrees Celsius
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer C. Richardson for the late scratching of DADSAIDJETTA at 7.56 a.m.
APACHE CLOUD (N. Nishio) and ELLAWISDOM (G. Geran) were slow to begin.
After being crossed approaching the first turn, LITTLE ORPO (S. Bogenhuber) commenced to race keenly, raced close to the heels of REAL DYNAMITE (N. Yamada) and was shifted out. After this LITTLE ORPO then commenced to hang out badly from the 800m and then making the home turn shifted wider on the track.
Approaching the 600m ELLAWISDOM was steadied after improving up on to the heels of IF HE DON'T (C. Maund).
When placed under pressure in the straight ELLAWISDOM hung in badly and near the 100m endeavoured to shift in behind OBLIVIATE (M. O'Brien).
Near the 100m REAL DYNAMITE ducked in abruptly.
Race 6: K & R PLUMBING SUPPLIES CLASS 3 PLATE – 1625M
1st – Rocket Boots 2nd – Famous Fortune 3rd – Big Max 4th – Night Wanderer
Track temperature: 17 degrees Celsius
After crossing to the lead shortly after the start, MEDIEVAL MYTH (J. Brown) commenced to race very keenly, took control of its rider and was unable to be restrained.
G. Geran (NIGHT WANDERER) explained that the horse raced very keenly in the early stages and in his opinion was not suited by the fast tempo set by the leader which resulted in him having to put the horse under pressure sooner than he did. He said in his opinion NIGHT WANDERER is a horse which is better suited to a moderate tempo as it tends to be one-paced. He said in addition NIGHT WANDERER was not only up in class but up in weight as well on its previous start.
Race 7: ANZAC DAY RACING HERE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Princess Forse 2nd – Danish Lass 3rd – Cos Sea Rose 4th – Twelfth Man/Brother Elvis
Track temperature: 17 degrees Celsius
TWELFTH MAN (N. Nishio) was slow to begin.
ZAROUGE (Z. Landry) shifted in at the start and bumped DANISH LASS (N. Yamada).
W. O'Connell (COS SEA ROSE) was reprimanded for shifting in near the 500m resulting in TWELFTH MAN being steadied.
D. Robinson (ANTSY AGGIE) was reprimanded for using the whip 6 times in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.
