Apprentice B. Richardson was today interviewed regarding the use of her whip on BONZA BRONZE in Race 4 and WINNING DREAMS in Race 5. Apprentice Richardson was isused with 2 charges under AR137A(1)(5)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip more than 5 times on each of the runners prior to the 100m in a forehand manner. B. Richardson was fined $100 for each breach. In assessing penalty, stewards were mindful that apprentice Richardson had not previously breached this rule relating to whip use and had not been aware of her breach in Race 4 prior to rding in Race 5.

Race 1: 11th Light Horse Darling Downs Troop F&M Class 1 H'cap – 1050m
1st – Tycoon Cougar 2nd – Heartbroken 3rd – Seraphs Fantasy 4th – Red Raptor
Track temperature: 34 degrees Celsius
HEARTBROKEN (A. Best) stumbled at the start.
Rounding the home turn, SERAPHS FANTASY (J. Letherby) hung out.
Race 2: Booramuggabeef.com.au Maiden H'cap – 1625m
1st – Ablackahawka 2nd – Not Courageable 3rd – Brother Elvis 4th – Cos Sea Rose
Track temperature: 34 degrees Celsius
The explanation tendered by trainer J. Hodder for the late arrival of LA DOUBT on course was accepted.
In the early stages, TWELTH MAN (S. Bogenhuber) raced very keenly.
S. Bogenhuber, rider of TWELTH MAN, dropped her whip near the 750m.
Race 3: Paddock To Plate Beef QTIS 2yo H'cap – 1200m
1st – Darlington County 2nd – Bullet One 3rd – Heartfelt Quest 4th – Who Will
Track temperature: 36 degrees Celsius
GAY DECEIVER was declared a late scratching at 1.55 pm due to travel permit restrictions. The explanation tendered by trainer D. Bourgoure was accepted.
WHO WILL (A. Best) began awkwardly, then bumped with HEARTFELT QUEST (D. Robinson).
Race 4: Boora Mugga Beef Maiden Plate – 1050m
1st – Pure Purrfection 2nd – Magnetic Miss 3rd – Sequalo Storm 4th – Sandy Illusion
Track temperature: 28 degrees Celsius
On jumping away, MAGNETIC MISS (J. Brown) and BULLOVA LADY (N. Tomizawa) bumped.
Shortly after the start, SEQUALO STORM (D. Robinson) shifted in, resulting in ZA GIRLFRIEND (A. Best) having to be steadied.
Rounding the home turn, both MAGNETIC MISS and SANDY ILLUSION (R. Goltz) hung out.
Post race veterinary examinations revealed that SEQUALO STORM was found to be lame in the off foreleg, and MONITOR was lame in the off hind leg. Connections of both horses were advised that veterinary clearances must be provided for both horses prior to their next race starts.
Race 5: Ethical Beef Production CG & E Class 1 H'cap - 1050
1st – Captain Fun 2nd – Watacon 3rd – Carry Larry's Rose 4th - Terms
Track temperature: 23 degrees Celsius
Making the first turn, CAPTAIN FUN (A. Best) hung out.
FLASH JESTER (S. Bogenhuber) was inclined to hang in and rounding the turn, and on straightening shifted in behind WATACON (J. McKinnon).
Race 6: Lest We Forget Class 3 H'cap – 1300m
1st – Enemyatthegate 2nd – Halo'd Be Thy Name 3rd – Thegreatandthegood 4th – Deep Heat
Track temperature: 21 degrees Celsius
As G. Geran became indisposed after riding in race 4, N. Yamada was substituted as the rider of KORGOLD.
RUN AWAY RUBY (J. Brown) and DONT CALL ME CRAZY (N. Tomizawa) were slow to begin.
PUNTERS CORNER (N. Nishio) blundered at the start.
Shortly after the start, THEGREATANDTHEGOOD (R. Goltz) was steadied when crowded between ENEMYATTHEGATE (G. Goold) and MONDIAH (B. Richardson), which shifted out.
Soon after making the turn near the 500m, DON'T CALL ME CRAZY became unbalanced when bumped on the hind quarters by ENEMYATTHEGATE (G. Goold).
