GENERAL:
As C. Maund was indisposed, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
Race 1: LOVE CONQUERS ALL AT ELIZA PARK CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1300M
1st – Home And Hosed 2nd – Albion 3rd – Fine Tune 4th – Hi Hi
Track temperature: 15 degrees Celsius
HI HI (N. Tomizawa) and FINE TUNE (N. Nishio) were slow to begin.
N. Evans (ALBION) was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in near the 900m, resulting in HOME AND HOSED (L. Morrison) having to be steadied.
For some distance after the 700m ALBION got its head on the side and hung in badly and then in the straight proved difficult to ride when it shifted in under pressure.
JEKAMA (K. Yoshida) commenced to weaken from the 600m and was eased down in the straight. Jockey K. Yoshida explained that the horse travelled well in the run behind the leader, however from the 600m, and after being crowded slightly by ALBION, the horse dropped the bit and as the horse failed to respond he did not persist in riding the horse out and eased it down in the straight. Trainer R. Lipp stated that JEKAMA is a horse which does not work on the cushion track and although trialling satisfactorily some time ago, he is of the opinion that the horse is not suited by racing on the cushion track. Mr Lipp gave Stewards an assurance that JEKAMA would not be nominated to race at Toowoomba whilst the horse remains under his care. Mr Lipp also advised Stewards that it was now his intention to have the horse scoped and blood samples taken, the results of which he undertook to report to the Stewards should anything unusual become apparent. A post-race veterinary examination of JEKAMA revealed the mare to be displaying an abnormal tracheal noise, however there were no other significant findings.
Race 2: PRESSDAY AT ELIZA PARK CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Quasistar 2nd – Lofty's Mate 3rd – Lotza Matez 4th – Sosueme
Track temperature: 14 degrees Celsius
PRINCE OF THE PARK (S. Apthorpe) was slow to begin.
After establishing the lead, FLAGFLAMENCO (G. Goold) then raced very keenly in the middle stages.
Near the 400m COS SEA ROSE (J. Letherby), which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of the heels of the tiring FLAGFLAMENCO, was then checked off that horse's heels, and then on straightening had to be checked and shifted back in to obtain clear running.
Race 3: FITTON RURAL INSURANCE BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 1625M
1st – Vivaheart 2nd – Extreme Mover 3rd – Toy Ruler 4th – Spinada
Track temperature: 14 degrees Celsius
WEEKEND SHOPPER (J. Letherby) was slow to begin.
Near the 1200m TOY RULER (L. Morrison), which was racing keenly, became awkwardly placed inside the heels of OFFYAROCKA (D. Robinson), which was being steadied. As a result of this TOY RULER bumped with BANANA KICK (R. Goltz). THE CLANDY MAN CAN (S. Bogenhuber), which was following, was steadied as a consequence.

Track temperature: 13 degrees Celsius
Trainer K. Waller was fined $100 for failing to submit a gear change for FLIGHT DE BUSH (D. Robinson) by the prescribed time.
ENCOURAGABLE (N. Evans) began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
FLIGHT DE BUSH (D. Robinson) was slow to begin.
Approaching the first turn ENCOURAGABLE, which was inclined to get its head up, shifted out across the heels of JUST A ROCKSTAR (M. O'Brien) and was checked. Shortly after this ENCOURAGABLE then improved up inside of JUST A ROCKSTAR and continued to race keenly with its head up, and again was checked when it shifted out close to the heels of that runner.
Leaving the 800m KOROVUTO (A. Fancourt) was checked when crowded for room inside NOVA ROCKS (S. Bogenhuber) which, after improving quickly on to the heels of BEESNEST (S. Apthorpe), then shifted in and away from that horse. In determining that no action should be taken, Stewards were of the view that BEESNEST was unable to muster speed and was yielding ground, resulting in S. Bogenhuber having no other option but to shift her mount in as she did.
Near the 50m AUBREY'S ACE (L. Morrison) was inconvenienced between ENCOURAGABLE and DREAM BELLA (K. Yoshida), both of which shifted ground slightly.

Shortly after the start PRINCESS EBONY (N. Nishio) was crowded between BE GOOD BELLA (L. Morrison) and BEADSWORTH (G. Goold), both of which shifted ground.
Apprentice G. Goold (BEADSWORTH) was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in near the 1000m resulting in BE GOOD BELLA and KEOAKEE (R. Goltz) racing in restricted room.
Rounding the home turn YOUTHFUL PRINCE hung in badly.
