SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Trainer B. Currie was fined the sum of $200 for having in his employ an unlicensed person at the Toowoomba track on the morning of Monday 8 April 2013.


Race 1: TOOWOOMBA CUP DAY 2ND JUNE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M

Track temperature – 24 degrees Celsius

Making the first turn near the 900m RELENTLESS HEART (R. Goltz) shifted out and made heavy contact with KEEP A LID ON IT (D. Robinson), which in turn bumped PERFECT PUZZLE (K. Yoshida).

In the early stages GOLDEN TOUCH (S. Bogenhuber) hung in and then rounding the turn, when placed under pressure in the straight, wanted to lay in.

The veterinary surgeon reported that SHOW FLIGHT (N. Tomizawa) was lame in the near fore knee following the event. Connections indicated that the horse may be retired. Trainer K. Kemp was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness for SHOW FLIGHT is required to be produced prior to the mare’s next race start.




Race 2: LAND TRANSPORT CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1000M

Track temperature – 21 degrees Celsius

FINE TUNE (K. Yoshida) was checked at the start when crowded between ESTHER CAROLINE (N. Tomizawa), which shifted out, and COCK A HOOP (T. Jeffries), which was taken in by AS SWEET AS (A. Merritt), which in turn was taken in by STILL AFTER (W. O'Connell).

EVANGELIST (A. Best) raced very keenly in the early and middle stages outside the leader.

Near the 50m EVANGELIST was brushed by MORE SAY (R. Goltz), which hung in away from ESTHER CAROLINE.

Race 3: WWW.THELASTSTRIDE.COM QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M

Track temperature – 18 degrees Celsius

On jumping, OUTBACK LASS (K. Yoshida), ONE EAT ONE (B. Richardson) and MARGINALIZE (T. Jeffries) were all badly crowded between AHA I SEE (M. O'Brien) and ESTEE VANCE (D. Robinson), which shifted in.

Apprentice T. Jeffries, the rider of MARGINALIZE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that approaching the 1000m she failed to take sufficient measures to prevent her mount shifting in, causing significant crowding to ONE EAT ONE and OUTBACK LASS, resulting in OUTBACK LASS having to be checked. Apprentice Jeffries’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 meetings, to commence at midnight on Wednesday 1 May and expire at midnight on Friday 10 May 2013. N. Tomizawa (WICKED BABE) was severely reprimanded in that after this initial crowding occurred he permitted his mount to shift in at an acute angle, resulting in MARGINALIZE not being able to shift back out, albeit after it had caused the initial crowding.

For the majority of the race STAR THOMAS (R. Ride) hung out. A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing manners.


Race 4: BRISBANE BLOODSTOCK BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 1300M

Track temperature – 17 degrees Celsius

No racing incidents.


Race 5: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M

Track temperature – 17 degrees Celsius

ROSE FOR ADELITA (M. O'Brien) was slow to begin.

Race 6: XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 2000M

Track temperature – 17 degrees Celsius

No racing incidents
