SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
Dalby 18/2/06
An inquiry was held on the 23rd February at the Toowoomba, Queensland Racing offices, into an incident, which occurred at the above meeting in Race 4 Dalby Engine Rebuilders Class 3 Plate 1400m. After taking evidence from the riders involved and viewing the patrol film, Apprentice A Taylor was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that she allowed her mount, RAM JAM INN, to shift in under pressure near the 200m when insufficiently clear of CHIEF CLOUD, resulting in that gelding being taken in, forcing LORD KWILA to shift in and blunder after clipping the heels of CYCLONIC WAYS. Apprentice A Taylors license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 meetings to commence midnight 25/2/06 up to and including midnight 11/3/06.
RACE 1: HORSE & JOCKEY HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M.
Both PREVAILING SPIRIT and BELLE’S ODYSSEY were slow to begin.
Leaving the 1100m, GLADIATORIAL was forced to ease when tightened for room between MILADY RAINE, which shifted in slightly and CIRCLE THE WORLD, which was taken out by MEGHAVAHANA, which shifted out under pressure. M Tarrant the rider of MEGHAVAHANA was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
JAVAKISKA eased from the heels of BELLE’S ODYSSEY near the 900m.
RACE 2: PETER HENRY GRAINS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M.
DISTINCLY MAGIC was slow to begin.
SHEMUM was slowly into stride.
Near the 800m, MAJESTIC BUTTERFLY was forced to ease from the heels of GORDON’S TIME, which shifted in.
S Apthorpe, the rider of MAJESTIC BUTTERFLY, was reprimanded for directing his mount out to obtain clear running when approaching the150m, resulting in both SHEMUM and ENVIABLE being hampered and forced wider on the track.
RACE 3: 4WK CLASS B H'CAP – 1100M.
N Tomizawa, the rider of DECADEL, accidentally dropped his whip near the 200m.
As M Tarrant and N Tomizawa were required to fulfil prior engagement at another venue an inquiry was adjourned into the reasons for KALINGA HEAVEN being checked and losing considerable ground near the 500m.
A post race vet examination of VARIEGATION, which commenced to lose ground from the 700m, failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer F Adams, when questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance, stated that he was at a loss to explain the performance as he had expected a much more forward showing in todays event. He further stated that should anything come to light with the gelding in the coming days he would contact the stewards.
RACE 4: CAREY BROS MEATS OPEN H’CAP – 1100M.
LEATHER was considerable slow to begin.
VAIN AND HANDY was slowly into stride.
LEATHER shifted out approaching the 700m and again rounding the home turn resulting in both SILVERTHORNE and BRISBANE LION being taken wider on the track.
RACE 5: UNIVERSAL HOTEL CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M.
PEARL OF PICCOLO was slow to begin.
BUCK’S CHARM pulled hard during the early and middle stages.
