SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT- Emerald Jockey Club Saturday 8th October 2011

Stewards re-convened an adjourned inquiry into Jockey R. Bellert’s riding of REIGNING TO WIN over the concluding stages of Race 3 “Hot Fm/ CQ News” Open Handicap of 1200 metres. After having the opportunity to view the patrol films in light of Jockey’s Bellerts explanation, Stewards issued a charge against Jockey Bellert under AR 137(b) in that he had failed to ride REIGNING TO WIN out approaching the end of the race. Jockey Bellert pleaded guilty. Stewards considered the aggravating and mitigating submissions in regard to penalty and accordingly, Jockey’s Bellert had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 2 weeks, to commence on Tuesday 1 November 2011 up to and including the 15 November 2011.


Race 1: D. GRAY GRADER & LOADER HIRE CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m:
1ST-- ONLY LOOKING 2nd – ROCK MATILDA 3rd – DO AS I COMMAND 4th-- CAPITOL HILL


ROCK MATILDA (B. Richardson) jumped outwards and made contact with ONLY LOOKING (C. Dixon) which in turn bumped INVINCIBLE BLUE (W. Doyle) which lost ground.
ONLY LOOKING (C. Dixon) travelled wide for the majority of the event.
DO AS I COMMAND (S. McCullum) hung out rounding the home turn.
EYEWALL (R. Mules) travelled wide in the straight to gain clear running.
ROCK MATILDA (B. Richardson) travelled wide from the home turn.

Race 2: ROONEY’S RURAL CONTRACTORS OPEN HANDICAP 1000m:
1ST -- PRINCE LEO 2nd – BIKRAM 3rd – MANNERS PLEASE 4th – INNARTO

MANNERS PLEASE (D. Rewald) stumbled as the gates opened and lost ground.
NUTUZZI (C. Dixon) jumped away awkwardly and bumped BIKRAM (S. McCullum).
Approaching the 800m NUTUZZI (C. Dixon) rolled in slightly and caused CRAIGLEA TUNES (S. Galvin) to race in restricted room between INNARTO (R. Bellert) and BIKRAM (S. McCullum) which resulted in CRAIGLEA TUNES being steadied and to lose some ground.
CRAIGLEA TUNES (S. Galvin) travelled wide from the home turn.
NUTUZZI (C. Dixon) shifted out under pressure down the running and made contact with BIKRAM (S. McCullum) on to PRINCE LEO (B. Richardson) causing BIKRAM to become unbalanced momentarily.
PRINCE LEO (B. Richardson) stopped and straightened after the bump with BIKRAM then lay in over the concluding stages.

Race 3: PETER ANDERSON MAIDEN PLATE 1200m:
1st –TATYOON 2nd – VANGUARD 3rd – JUST READY 4th – KUDA ROCK

VANGUARD (B. Richardson) and TATYOON (W. Doyle) bumped on jumping.
JUST READY (C.Dixon) jumped away awkwardly and raced greenly down the straight.
VANGUARD (B. Richardson) raced wide throughout.
W.Doyle was fined the sum of $100 under AR137A) for his use of the whip on TATYOON when the horse was clearing winning.

Race 4: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB CLASS 6 PLATE 1300m:
1st – COPPER PIN 2nd – FASMAR 3rd -- CATABOLIC 4th – MOSSBEMAD

After discussing the matter with trainer C.Prow, stewards permitted C. Dixon to ride BI QUALO 1/2kg overweight as there were no other riders available.
CATABOLIC (B. Richardson) blundered on jumping and then continued to race wide for the majority of the event.
COPPER PIN (W. Doyle) jumped away awkwardly outwards.
BI QUALO (C. Dixon) and MOSSBEMAD (S. Galvin) both travelled wide from the home turn.

Race 5: TNT RACING STABLE CLASS 3 PLATE 1600m:
1st – HAPPY NOW 2nd – GREENHIDE 3rd – AUTUMN BEATS 4th -- SPECIAL AURA

HAPPY NOW (W.Doyle) and NAVILLUS PICALL (S.McCullum) were both slow away.
Shortly after the start ALL ROYAL (S.Galvin) rolled in and placed AUTUMN BEATS(R.Bellert) in restricted racing room and when steadied, lost ground.
AUTUMN BEATS raced wide from the 600m and then hung in down the straight and had to be straightened in the concluding stages.
