RACING
RACE 1 CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1000 METRES – (4 STARTERS)
The start of Race 1 was delayed 20 minutes due to the late arrival of the Vet, Dr David Beale.
DESERT PHOENIX (G.BELL) was slow into stride.
RACE 2 CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1000 METRES – (4 STARTERS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 3 CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 METRES – (7 STARTERS)
AUSPICIOUS STAR (F.OKAWA) jumped out at the start and hampered S’AMUSER (W.WELBURN) as a consequence AUSPICIOUS STAR was slow into stride. BLACK OWL (B.BELL) tailed off. During the middle stages of the race AUSPICIOUS STAR resented dirt being thrown back.
RACE 4 MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 METRES – (10 STARTERS)
FREMAX (S.NEWTON) was slow into stride. FREMAX and BRIDLING (G.BELL) were slow to muster early speed.
RACE 5 CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200 METRES – (9 STARTERS)
Upon jumping WARRANULLA (D. SIMMONS) jumped out onto FOREST CHATTER (W.WELBURN). BOY (B.BELL) and SASSADASH (G.EVANS) came together on jumping. Approaching the 350 metres WARRANULLA struck the running rail heavily when racing on the inside of FROTHY TOP (N.COYNE).
RACE 6 OPEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES – (5 STARTERS)
GANCIA SOVEREIGN (D.SIMMONS) was slow to begin.
BOOKMAKERS: Three bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and those obtained forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
