General: All male riders engaged at today’s meeting provided a sample of their urine which will be sent to Racing Analytical Services Ltd for analysis.
Race 1: Benchmark 55 Handicap – 800 metres:
1st – KISS ME QUICK 2nd – MOLANGLE DASH 3rd – DECADERO 4th – HEART OF STRENGTH
Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer B. Willams for the late rider declaration of G.Watson on ROCKING WITH ROSIE.
At the start HEART OF STRENGTH (App K. Aho) jumped outwards and made contact with TULLAGRIE PRINCE (App J. Kuskopf).
MOLONGLE DASH (J. Felix) was slow into stride.
Race 2: Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1000 metres:
1st – DELTA DRAGON 2nd – JAXTER’S BALLET 3rd – GLOUCESTER STORM 4th – PUBLIC AFFAIR
Shortly after jumping away JAXTER’S BALLET (App J. Kuskopf) shifted in and made contact with LAGO LIES (G. Watson).
Prior to the declaration of correct weight jockey G. Watson the rider of LAGO LIES, reported that his inside gate was marginally slow to open and as a result lost ground. After viewing the stewards official patrol film of the start, stewards were satisfied that LAGO LIES was afforded a fair start and correct weight was given on the numbers semaphored.
Race 3: Maiden Plate – 1000 metres:
1st – LADY SAGA 2nd – RED CHEVY COUPE 3rd – BUCKANARA 4th – LORD HAVOC
Apprentice J. Kuskopf the rider of RED CHEVY COUPE reported that her saddle slipped back near the 500 metres.
Jockey G. Watson the rider of LORD HAVOC reported that his mount was inclined to hang out rounding the turn near the 700 metres.
Race 4: Class 6 Plate – 1200 metres:
1st – STROM THE RHYTHM 2nd – NATE 3rd – ATHABASCA 4th – ZEDI WARRIOR
On entering the mounting yard it was noticed that NATE (G. Watson) had sustained some superficial lacerations to both hind hocks. NATE was inspected by the clubs veterinary officer in the mounting yard and again at the barriers and was passed fit to take its place in the event. A public announcement was made to this effect. Trainer Mr M Geaney was reminded of his obligation under AR140(b) to report any occurrence that may impact on a horse’s performance.
ZEDI WARRIOR (J. Felix) began awkwardly.
Race 5: Benchmark 60 Hadicap – 1450 metres
1st – BUCASIA BEACH 2nd – BLUEY’S ESCAPE 3rd – PATTO’S GIRL 4th – PINE ISLAND
BUCASIA BEACH (App J. Kuskopf) had a tendency to lay out under pressure over the final 100 metres.
On returning to scale apprentice K. Aho the rider of WINDSOR GOLD reported that her mount resented the kickback throughout the event.
