SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

Stewards today inquired into the reasons trainer S.Higgins engaged an unregistered rider for a jump out at the Charleville track on the 20/2/07. S.Higgins was found guilty of a charge under L.R 43 and was fined the sum of $100. In arriving at the penalty stewards took into account extenuating circumstances which led to the breaching of this rule.

Stewards today inquired into the reason for trainer S.Iverson having unregistered stable hands under his employ. It was established by stewards and the evidence provided by S.Iverson that the unregistered staff had no direct contact with the horses and the only contact with the horses was by licensed people, due to an injury S.Iverson had suffered rendering himself incapacitated. Stewards severely reprimanded S.Iverson and reminded him of his obligations under LR 43.
