1st – ROSE OF CLARE 2nd – PRESS PLAY 3rd – AIR OF HEAVEN 4th – HAD A DREAM

DADON - Jumped outwards at the start.

ROSE OF CLARE - Was inclined to lay out throughout the home straight.


Race 3:. Bramwell Station BenchMark 65 Handicap 1000 Mtrs
1st – NINETYNINE PERCENT 2nd – DRAGON SIGN 3rd – ARONSON 4th – ARMY OF ONE

MASTER DANNY – Jockey F. Edwards reported to Stewards that his mount resented the kick back and tailed off in the early stages of the event.

DRAGON SIGN – Jockey of the gelding W. D’Avila wished to view the official film of the race before correct weight be given. After viewing the film of the event he was satisfied and correct weight was given.



Race 4: . Cooktown Hardware QTIS Class1 Handicap 1290 Mtrs
1st – DECISIVE ACTION 2nd – KANA AKA 3rd – DAZZLUNA 4th - VENCEREMOS

KANA AKA – Raced wide rounding home turn.

SHE CAN TWIST - Was a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 3:17pm when the mare refused to load. Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies bet on SHE CAN TWIST be refunded and further ordered that deductions of 12cents in the win and 11 cents in the place on the face value of all winning tickets apply.
Trainer Mr G. Porter was advised by stewards that the mare must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.

HUSSELING – Was a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 11:30am as there was no rider available.

VENCEREMOS - Trainer B. Furber reported to Stewards that the gelding had hit his head in the tie up stalls and there was a trace of blood in one nostril. A pre – race veterinary examination found the gelding was fit to race.

Race 5:. Poison Creek Station/Blair Agri Advisors Class 6 Plate

1st – DAZZLE ON 2nd – FASCIA 3rd – BILT LEICA 4th – WILL HE FLY

FASCIA - Jockey K. Stone wished to view the photo finish print and after doing so was satisfied and correct weight was given.



Race 6:.Cooktown Bowls Club Cup Benchmark 70 Handicap
1700 Mtrs
1st – LIBERTY’S MAGIC 2nd – TETE DE SEAU 3rd – CYCLONE LARRY 4th - KATTER

LIBERTY’S MAGIC - Was slow to begin.

MANALUTE - Knuckled on jumping away.
