RACE 1:CUNNAMULLA BAKERY & CAFÉ MDN PLATE 1000M–
1st –Anisette 2nd –Hawaii Moon 3rd-Bread’n’water 4th –Cantley Lane

HIDDEN LOOT (A Hozack) was slow to begin.

CANTLEY LANE (C Schumacher) commenced to hang out shortly after the start until appoint approaching the 600m.

Approaching the 150m, HIDDEN LOOT was forced to steady when hampered by BREAD’N’WATER (C Baker) which shifted in under hard riding. Jockey C Baker was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.


RACE 2:DAVE WEBSTER QTIS CLASS 1 H’CAP 1000M–
1st –Nashama 2nd –Littleboyboo 3rd –Hugh Leo 4th –Beguiling Star.

NASHAMA (I French) was tightened for room at the start between LITTLEBOYBOO (E Wilson) and I’M NOT GUILTY (R Faehr) which jumped in. A Short distance later NASHAMA was further hampered when racing between I’M NOT GUILTY and LITTLEBOYBOO (E Wilson) which shifted out.

Approaching the 900m, NASHAMA when shifting out to improve, forced LITTLEBOYBOO and BEGUILING STAR (C Baker) wider on the track.


RACE 3:THRIFTY LINK CLASS B H’CAP 1200M-
1st -Fuyung 2nd –Desert Red 3rd –Talga Time 4th –Distant Symphony

MIRABOO (C Baker) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 100m, DISTANT SYMPHONY (I French) shifted in under hard riding crowding GUEST OF HONOUR (E Wilson) for a short distance.

RACE 4:MURRAWONDAH COBAN POLL & MERINO STUD CLASS 3 H’CAP 1200M-
1st –Chief Inspector 2nd –El Cobar 3rd –Rock Your Body 4th –Potent Mix

LOVE JACK was declared a Late Scratching at 11.25am after the gelding injured itself when being loaded onto the float on the morning of the races. Stewards advised LOVE JACK’S trainer S Higgins that LOVE JACK would require a Veterinary Certificate prior to next start.

EL COBAR (E Wilson) began awkwardly losing ground.

CHIEF INSPECTOR (A Hozack) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 250m EL COBAR was tightened for room between POTENT MIX (C Schumacher) which shifted out and CHIEF INSPECTOR was shifted in slightly.

A post race Veterinary Examination of INNOCENT JANE which finished last, failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards advised Trainer T Webb if anything comes to light in the coming days which may have contributed to INNOCENT JANE’S poor performance to notify Stewards.


RACE 5:SOUTHWEST PEST CONTROL CLASS 5 H’CAP 1400M –
1st Merry Pierce 2nd –Bang Clang Alang 3rd Deeceem 4th –Kalinga Blaze

DEECEEM (S Galvin) was slow to begin.

MERRY PIERCE (C Schumacher) jumped out at the start hampering KALINGA BLAZE (R Faehr).

I French the rider of DESERT STAR, returned to scale in excess of half a kilogram under weight. Stewards therefore acting under the terms of AR 143 (a) disqualified DESERT STAR, which finished 2nd in the event and upon declaration of Correct Weight amended the placings to read 1st Merry Pierce 2nd Bang Clang Alang 3rd Deeceem 4th Kalinga Blaze.

At a subsequent inquiry Apprentice I French pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 143 (b) in that as the rider of DESERT STAR he returned to scale greater then half a kilogram under weight. Apprentice I French was subsequently fined the sum of $400.

Stewards questioned DEECEEM’S trainer and jockey into the poor of the gelding. Jockey S Galvin stated that after being slow to begin he pushed the gelding to obtain a position close to the lead. Mr Galvin further stated that he was able to get the gelding to relax during the middle stages however when he placed the gelding at the 400m it failed to respond to his efforts. Trainer R Sullivan stated that the gelding missed two days work some ten days prior to the race after suffering a slight injury, however he felt that had no bearing on the gelding performance today. Mr Sullivan could offer no other explanation into the gelding’s poor performance. A post race Veterinary Inspection failed to reveal any significant findings.

1ST-Cocktail Shaker 2nd-Al Krafra 3rd-King Corona 4th-Stars will Dance

E Wilson the rider of STARS WILL DANCE was reminded of her obligations to ride out her mount to the finish of the event.
