RACE: 1. TELL ME (W. Glass) slow away. ZENOBIA (N. Tomizawa) slow into stride. TELCAPRI (S. Shield) jumped outwards at the start. At approx 200m TELLCAPRI (S. Shield) shifted out making contact with ZENOBIA (N. Tomizawa). At approx 200m WILD DISCOVERY (R. Goltz) shifted out causing AKTHAR (G. Geran) to be steadied. After leaving the barrier AKTHAR (G. Geran) shifted in making contact with SPECIAL SILVER (S. Katsidis) causing that horse to shift in making contact with WILD DISCOVERY (R. Goltz). SUGARS (K. Yoshida) jumped in, contact with CHARMISS (J. Hoopert). At approx 600m BRER RABBIT (R. Pittman) hung out CHARMISS (J. Hoopert) clipped BRER RABBIT heels and blundered Trainer T. Judge was advised that BRER RABBIT would have to barrier trial before re – nominating.

TIME OFF: 1:02pm

RACE: 2. At the start PRINCE ASHTON (S. Shield) blundered and SMOKEY CRYSTAL (P.Spry) jumped out contact with VITAL SIGN (M. Aspinall). SPRING CREEK (K. Purdy) raced green with head in the air in early stages of race. At approx 150m AMBEHAVIN (B. Carne) shifted out minor contact with VITAL SIGN (M. Aspinall). A.Parramore (SLIGO PRINCESS) accidentally dropped his whip at approx 200m.

TIME OFF: 1:40pm

RACE 3. JUST SENSATION (D. Craven) and BEAUJOLAIS MISS (C. Kearney) were slowly away. ZANGIEF (R. Kerwin) jumped out making contact with SILVER VALLEY (C. Taylor). SILVER VALLEY (C. Taylor) shifted in at approx 900m and over concluding stages of race, no inconvenience to any other runner.

TIME OFF: 2:15pm

RACE 4: HELEN’S HONEY was presented at the enclosure gate with heavy work shoes on. There was a delay of 2 min while the farrier plated HELEN’S HONEY. Trainer D. Gollan pleaded guilty to the charge under rule 140(A) in that he presented the horse HELEN’S HONEY to the enclosure with heavy work shoes and was fined the sum of $100. KUMPEL ANTON (B. Carne) jumped in making contact with SENSATE FOCUS (S. Katsidis) making contact with JED ENOCH (P. Gesler). At approx 200m SENSATE FOCUS (S. Katsidis) shifted out contact with GRANDIE JACK (P. Spry). PRIVATE VIEWING (R. Hancock) layed out over concluding stages of race no inconvenience to any other runner. ROYAL CARTOOSH (D. Hutchins) was inclined to lay out entire of race. HELEN’S HONEY (G Geran) was held up for a run on home turn and had to be steadied off the heels of ROYAL CARTOOSH (D. Hutchins).

TIME OFF: 2:50pm

RACE 5: RED PETE (W. Glass) slow away. MAGIC ANN (G. Geran) slow away, made contact with the hind quarters of RIVER ZIP (W. Orbell). At approx 700m EMBEZZLED (G. Lynch) shifted in crowding PRIDE OF NAREEB (L. McCoy). RED RECLUSE (C. Taylor) shifted out under heavy riding making heavy contact with BARBARIANS (S. Katsidis) over concluding stages of race.

TIME OFF: 3:26pm

RACE 6: Trainer C. Smith was fined the sum of $50 for not having the registration papers for PRIDE PACK on course. AUNTY TOBYS (S. Shield) jumped awkwardly making contact with BHUNDU BOY (C. Taylor). STANZA CHOICE (L. McCoy) slow away and jumped in. SHEER IMPULSE (P. Spry) was inclined to lay out at approx 600m. MATT THE FIN (D. Rewald) had to ease off heels of GLACIER QUEEN (R. Goltz) which was shifting ground on home turn. At approx 100m PUMPY (C. Kearney) shifted out making contact with PADDY DAPPER (M. Aspinall).

TIME OFF: 4:03pm

RACE 7: At approx 800m WATAGAN LASS ( W. Orbell) shifted in making contact with ZAMPONI (N. Tomizawa) causing that horse to shift in causing EXCITING MACEDONIA ( R. Pittman) to ease. SWIFT AND LOYAL (S. Katsidis) shifted out at approx 500m minor contact with CELESTIAL BEAT (C. Taylor). EXCITING MACEDONIA (R. Pittman) was held up for a clear run on home turn. APP JKY C. Taylor and TNR L. Ross were questioned regarding the poor performance of CELESTIAL BEAT. TNR L. Ross advised stewards the horse was tired and would be sent for a spell. APP C. Taylor stated that the horse was caught wide and failed to respond to his hard riding. A VETERINARY examination of CELESTIAL BEAT following the event failed to reveal any abnormality.

TIME OFF: 4:40pm

RACE 8: SOON A KING (C .Taylor) slow away. CANNY TYCOON ( K. Sawyers) jumped in the air at start and slow away. SEATTLE ARRIVAL (L. Morrison) was inclined to lay out at approx 600m. LONDON LASS (S. Katsidis) was held up for a clear run on home turn and over concluding stages of race.

TIME OFF: 5:15pm
