Race 1: DALBY BRIDGESTONE MAIDEN PLATE - 1000m.
LENNY THE LAIR was slow to begin.

BOBBIE DAZZLER was slowly into stride.

PRINCESS LIL jumped in at the start hampering SUPREME APPEAL.

Approaching the 650m, JAVA LAVA shifted out taking BEETABLE wider causing BRONDEN, which was following to be eased.

LENNY THE LAIR shifted out abruptly to obtain clear running leaving the 250m.

Connections of BOBBIE DAZZLER, which bled from both nostrils, were advised that the horse would be barred from racing for a mandatory 3 months.

Race 2: DALBY LIVESTOCK ACENTS CLASS 1 H’CAP - 1000m.
SHIBDEN GROVE was slow to begin.

NICOLOSI shifted out at the start making contact with CHRISOM.

C Pay the rider of LIPINSKI was unable to fully test his mount over the concluding stages as it was inclined to lie out under pressure.

Both Trainer J Crompton and Jockey R Goltz were questioned regarding the seeming disappointing performance of SKY LYRIC. Both were of the opinion that the horse may have failed to race well under the top weight of 60.5kg and could offer no further excuse for the performance. Post race vet examination of SKY LYRIC failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 3: DALBY RSL CLUB CLASS 4 H’CAP - 1200m.
SILOUIE jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.

GRAND SEMI was forced to ease from the heels of BOLD PHAROAH, leaving the 800m.

BUZZ was momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 200m.

Race 4: ERGON ENERGY PLOUGH INN CUP WFA - 1400m.
GOLDEN SILVER jumped away awkwardly losing ground.

HAPPY FARMER and GURGUN were both slow to begin.

Approaching the 1000m, MR ALBERT shifted out taking both BELCH A FLAME and GURGUN wider on the track.

Rounding the home turn ALANOR LASS shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so hampered both GURGUN and THE POST MASTER. N Tomizawa, the rider of ALANOR LASS, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

Approaching the 100m, HAPPY FARMER, which had been held up for clear running during the early stages of the straight, was further hampered by BELCH A FLAME, which was taken in by YARNS.

Leaving the 200m, FLOOR BOARDS, which was racing in restricted room to the inside of SHEERDETERMINATION, was forced to check and make heavy contact with the running rail when SHEERDETERMINATION shifted in and away from GOLDEN SILVER, which had improved to his outside.

Mr A Martelli the Trainer of THE POSTMASTER was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of that gelding and the apparent strong on course support for his horse. Mr Martelli stated that following last start the horse had a low blood count and as a result he had given the horse a short break between runs and leading into today’s event the geldings blood count had improved. He further stated he had not been surprised with today’s performance, as he believes the horse has more ability than his form suggests. Mr Martelli stated that none of the oncourse support had been his; due to the fact that by the time he arrived in the betting ring the horse had already been backed into favouritism. Following inquiries with Bookmakers and a number of patrons who supported the horse, it was confirmed that the support was not connected with the stable.

Race 5: DALBY MACHINERY CENTRE DALBY CUP H’CAP - 1400m.
ALTAO shifted out at the start hampering FEARLESS RACER.

NEW YORK NEW YORK and HOW HIGH SIR both shifted out at the start severely hampering both EXCLAIM and BANNOCK BAY out onto the hindquarters of FLYING FEATHERS.

C Bumstead the rider of NEW YORK NEW YORK was severely reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages resulting in RANGERS and FEARLESS RACER being tightened for room to the inside of ALTAO.

ALTAO was inclined to hang in through out.

FLYING FEATHERS was forced to race wide through out.

Race 6: KEV SCHRECK MEMORIAL CLASS B H’CAP - 1400m.
GREAT DAVE and SAITHOR KING were both slow to begin.
