WEATHER - FINE TRACK - FAST RAIL - 3M. ALL TRACK


GENERAL: As C. Spry, S. Galloway and M. Rodd were indisposed, the following riding replacements were approved.

C. Spry - Race 4. CARAT OF GOLD - R. Hurley.

M. Rodd - Race 1. GARLAND IN BLOOD - B. Stewart; Race 2. MOON JET - J. Stanley; Race 3. CHEERFULLY - P. Hammersley; Race 4. MILESTONE - B. Stewart; Race 5. LORD MAYOR - G. Baker;

S. Galloway - Race 1. INCONSTANT - G. Colless; Race 3. LITTLE MADAME - G. Colless; Race 6. BLOW THE WHISTLE - J. Stanley; Race 8. HUEY - G. Colless.

RACE 1: CHAMPIONS BAR H'CAP - 1200M.

MRS SHARPLES was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, GARLAND IN BLOOM and SECRET GARDENS were checked when tightened for room between INCONSTANT and STELLAR SPECTRA, which shifted in abruptly.

STELLAR SPECTRA was obliged to race wide throughout the event.


RACE 2: 10,000 ROOM H'CAP - 1200M.

UNATTAINABLE was slow to begin.

INNEUVRE jumped awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with MOST ASSUREDLY.

Near the 500m., KOOL KALI had to be steadied to avoid the heels of OOTHAPENDRAGON, which shifted out.

INNEUVRE was obliged to race wide throughout the event.


RACE 3: WHIPS N' SPURS H'CAP - 1615M.

CENTRAL BANKER and SONGYE were slow to begin.

Approaching the first turn, CENTRAL BANKER shifted in and made contact with the running rail.

In the early stages, IMPOSITION pulled hard.

CENTRAL BANKER was inclined to hang out after leaving the 600m..

Inside the 50m., CANNY CRUISE shifted in under pressure, tightening the running of SCOOTERS and LITTLE MADAME.

J. Morris, rider of FREESPINS, was fined $100 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilo over his declared riding weight.


RACE 4: CARLTON DRAUGHT H'CAP - 1350M.

Apprentice S. McLean was directed that in future he must present his winning rides book and letter of authority from his master upon his arrival at the track.

MILESTONES shifted out at the start and made contact with ROAD TO SEA.

After leaving the 1200m., CEETU had to be checked when tightened for room by MILESTONES, which was taken in slightly by STOP DREAMING. M. Carson, rider of STOP DREAMING, immediately endeavoured to relieve the tightening to runners to his inside.

After passing the 1000m., STOP DREAMING had to be steadied when tightened for room between AMBERSAND, which shifted in slightly, and MILESTONES, which was taken out by DARBY ROSER, which was pulling hard off the heels of NUMERO. MAJOR THOMSON, which was following, shifted out to avoid the heels of STOP DREAMING, taking CARAT OF GOLD wider on the track. CARAT OF GOLD then was forced to race wider for the remainder of the event.

Approaching the 200m., TAMDEM was disappointed for a run between AMBERSAND and CARAT OF GOLD.

RACE 5: AMBASSADOR TRAVEL H'CAP - 2100M.

JUST CASSIDY was slow to begin.

Near the 600m., NARWHAL shifted out to improve and made contact with JUST CASSIDY, which was tiring.

On the home turn, KEILOR shifted out and made contact with JUST CASSIDY.


RACE 6: EMIRATES AIRLINE H'CAP - 1350M.

BLOW THE WHISTLE blundered on jumping away.

After travelling a short distance, WHAT A DEVIL became awkward when racing between TOPPA and REGALESTO, and as a result shifted out. LADY ISABELLA, which was following, was obliged to shift out, inconveniencing JOHN SYN.

WHAT A DEVIL pulled hard in the early stages and making the home turn had to be steadied off the heels of TOPPA.



RACE 7: CLEANEVENT H'CAP - 1010M.

Permission was granted for M. McDonald to ride LUNCHTIME LEGEND claiming only a portion of his allowance.

Near the 850m., GUTHRIE shifted in and made contact with DESERT PHOENIX.

Approaching the first turn, LUNCHTIME LEGEND had to be checked when tightened for room by WINNING BLIND, which improved quickly between LUNCHTIME LEGEND and JUST DEVINE.

LUNCHTIME LEGEND had difficulty obtaining clear running until after leaving the 100m..



RACE 8: YOUNG MEMBERS H'CAP - 1200M.

RUBY'S JESTER, which was found to have blood in its mouth as a result of a dislodged tooth cap, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

Approaching the 1100m., LITTLE DEUCE COUPE had to be checked when tightened for room between SAHARA MACA, which shifted in slightly, and HALO MAN, which shifted out.

FINAL STORM shifted out on the first turn and had to be steadied off the heels of LEVANTE.

Over the concluding stages, MIXADAD had to be steadied to avoid the heels of FINAL STORM. V. Caddy, rider of FINAL STORM, was reprimanded and advised that he must ensure he is fully clear when shifting ground.


ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
