RACE 6: OPTIGRASS CLASS 6 H'CAP - 1640M.
On the 1400m., turn, FIGURITOUT, which was pulling hard, shifted out, forcing SILVER GHOST wider on the track,

A charge of careless riding was issued against jockey J. Stanley, in that he allowed his mount, EXPERIENCE, to shift out under pressure approaching the 50m., resulting in D'ARGENT FILLE, which had obtained a run to its outside, being taken out across the running of FUGURITOUT, which was severely hampered when it strode awkwardly at the heels of D'ARGENT FILLE. SILVER GHOST was also hampered in this incident. After taking further evidence, including further submissions from J. Stanley he was extended the benefit of the doubt in relation to this charge, which was not sustained. In arriving at this finding, stewards accepted that after J. Stanley had ceased riding with the whip, his mount had shifted out more abruptly when WITH MY improved quickly to its inside. J. Stanley was however severely reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
