Race 1: Cleanevent Brisbane Bloodstock 1mw H'cap - 1200m
1st –Blue Jupiter 2nd – Release Me 3rd – Albert Cadabra 4th – Borsha’s Warrior
BORSHA’S WARRIOR (J. Taylor) overraced in the middle stages.
Near the 700m, CAT EYES (M. Hellyer) shifted out, taking MONASHEE KNIGHT (L. Rolls) to a 3-wide position. MONASHEE KNIGHT was then forced to race 3 wide for the remainder of the event.
DEMOLIR (O. Turpin) raced wide in the middle stages.
Over the final 150m, WORTH DOING raced in restricted room to the inside of PELLTRO (G. Colless) when endeavouring to secure clear running to that runner’s inside.
Race 2: CE Property Services Group 3yo QTIS H'cap - 1110m
1st – Fab Fevola 2nd – Fear No Other 3rd – Just A Piccolo 4th – Tea Roses
FAB FEVOLA (J. Byrne) and LIGHTSTAR (R. Wiggins) made contact on jumping away. LIGHTSTAR then became unbalanced and shifted in, hampering TEA ROSES (S. Katsidis).
MR TRACEY (M. Hellyer) had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn.
Upon entering the straight, DEUX CHEVAUX (L. Cassidy) was held up for clear running on the heels of MOONLIGHT HUSSEY (J. Bowditch) and in endeavouring to obtain clear running shifted out, making contact with DUCKIN’ DAISIES (M. Speers).
FEAR NO OTHER (G. Colless) shifted ground inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
S. Katsidis, rider of the 4th placegetter, TEA ROSES, was found guilty of a charge under AR137(b), in that he failed to ride his mount right out to the finish of the race. S. Katsidis was fined the sum of $1500.
A post-race veterinary examination of DUCKIN’ DAISIES, which raced wide for the majority of the event and compounded over the concluding stages, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
MONDEAN lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 3: Clean Domain Class 6 Plate – 2200m
1st – Malandrina 2nd – Bold Distinction 3rd – Don Vito 4th - Deacon
DEACON (S. Katsidis) overraced in the early stages.
LORD RUPERT (J. Bowditch) had difficulty securing clear running in the straight until near the 100m.
Race 4: Clean Vu CG&E Class 6 H'cap - 1300m
1st – Light Red 2nd – On The Leather 3rd – Five Ways 4th – Mr Orient
FRAMOUS (J. Bowditch) was slow to begin.
FIVE WAYS (J. Byrne) and KYROS (M. Cahill) were tightened for room on jumping away between THREE SWALLOWS (M. Speers) and BEARTRACKER (O. Turpin), which shifted in on jumping away.
THREE SWALLOWS (M. Speers) laid in under pressusre in the straight.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BLACK MORGAN, G. Colless stated that the horse began only fairly, however despite that he was able to take up a handy position with cover. He added that the gelding travelled comfortably and he endeavoured to improve his position around THE CAVERN CLUB from the 500m, however BLACK MORGAN failed to accelerate and did not respond to his riding and only finished the race off moderately. Trainer B. Hill stated that in his opinion the horse performs best if able to lead or being positioned outside the leader. A post-race veterinary examination of BLACK MORGAN failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 5: Cleanevent F&M Class 6 H'cap - 1350m
1st – Use To Be A Dancer 2nd – Sleek Repeat 3rd – Kryptel On 4th – Kentish Rose
HIGH ROLL’N WOMAN (O. Turpin), PAPAL JOY (J. Taylor) and USE TO BE A DANCER (S. Katsidis) were tightened for room on jumping away between SEETHING DUCK (C. Reith) and SUPERFLY (J. Byrne), which jumped away awkwardly and shifted in.
KRYPTELON (J. Bowditch) shifted out to improve leaving the 500m and in doing so forced SEETHING DUCK (C. Reith) wider on the track.
HIGH ROLL’N WOMAN was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight.
KRYPTELON had a tendency to lay in in the early stages of the straight.
RARE DIAMOND (L. Cumberland), SEETHING DUCK and VERA’S PRIDE (L. Cassidy) raced 3 wide throughout.
Race 6: CE, Risk, Safety, Security Open H'cap - 1630m
1st – Little Stranger 2nd – Rags To Riches 3rd – La Zeel 4th – Charming Rogue
BAREENA, which was injured in its float en route to the track, was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.55 pm.
ZILZIE (L. Rolls) was tightened for room shortly after the start between KOVAK (S. Seamer) and RIGHTSON (S. Katsidis), both of which shifted ground.
RAGS TO RICHES (M. Speers) and CHARMING ROGUE (G. Colless) made contact near the 200m.
Trainer A. Bailey reported that CHARMING ROGUE would be sent for an immediate spell.
Race 7: Clean Domain H'cap - 1200m
1st – Albert The Fat 2nd – Forestreno 3rd – Borsha’s Mark 4th – Sommersea Drive
DENMARKET, which broke through the barriers and was quickly restrained, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.
Near the 800m, TELLASECRET (C. Reith) and NUCLEAR MEDICINE (S. Thurlow) were severely crowded between HEART OF THE CITI (M. Radecker) and TORNADIC SKY (M. Hellyer), which shifted in. M. Hellyer, rider of TORNADIC SKY, was advised to exercise more care.
At the same stage, SOMMERSEA DRIVE (M. Cahill), which was overracing, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of FORESTRENO (J. Bowditch), which shifted in momentarily.
DENMARKET (A. Pattillo) and OLLIE VOLLIE (S. Seamer) raced wide throughout.
Race 8: CE Environment NMW H'cap - 1630m
1st –Deception Bay 2nd – Fond Bond 3rd – Iluva Queenslander 4th - Newsnight
Approaching the first turn, TEDDY BARE (L. Cassidy) got its head up and raced ungenerously.
SAVANNA LA MAR (B. Pengelly) overraced in the early stages of the event.
Near the 150m, SHIFTMAN (J. Bowditch) had to be steadied momentarily off the heels of DECEPTION BAY (G. Colless), which was taken out by FOND BOND (J. Taylor).
DELL AMBY (M. Speers) raced wide for the majority of the event.
SEEKAWINNER (M. Radecker) raced wide throughout.
