Race 1: Sky Racing Brisbane Bloodstock Bonus 2yo Plate - 1000m
1st – Javelentia 2nd – Rhythm Nation 3rd – Lady Racer 4th - Pypavance
Connections advised that PYM’S LANE would be ridden more quietly as in is most recent start it proved disappointing when ridden on the pace. PYM’S LANE was ridden accordingly.
LADY RACER (J. Byrne) and WHAT ABOUT ME (R. McMahon) bumped on jumping away and as a result LADY RACER shifted in, making contact with PYM’S LANE (G. Colless).
GIFT OF THE DAY (S. Galloway) was tightened for room at the start between FEROCIOUS DIVA (C. Munce) and BEEBEE’S LAST (Michael Palmer), which was taken out by JAVELENTIA (Matthew Palmer)
JUNDABEE ROSE (R. Goltz) began awkwardly.
Leaving the 900m, FEROCIOUS DIVA (C. Munce) had to be steadied off the heels of PYPAVANCE (K. Banks), which shifted in.
At the same stage, LADY RACER shifted out, taking WHAT ABOUT ME (R. McMahon) and GIFT OF THE DAY (S. Galloway) wider on the track.
Near the 600m, GIFT OF THE DAY had to be steadied off the heels of BEEBEE’S LAST. WE MADE A BLU (B. Stewart) was inconvenienced in this incident.
Approaching the 200m, BEEBEE’S LAST was inconvenienced and had to be steadied when racing to the inside of WHAT ABOUT ME, which shifted out abruptly. R. McMahon, rider of WHAT ABOUT ME, was advised to exercise more care in similar situations. WE MADE A BLU was also inconvenienced in this incident.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FEROCIOUS DIVA, C. Munce stated that the horse travelled fiercely in the early stages and was under pressure leaving the 600m. C. Munce added that FEROCIOUS DIVA raced very greenly, particularly in the straight and, in his view, proved very disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of FEROCIOUS DIVA failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Jockey G. Colless was questioned regarding the tactics he employed on PYM’S LANE, particularly in the early stages of the event where the horse appeared to lose contact with the main body of the field. G. Colless stated he was instructed to ride PYM’S LANE more quietly than at its previous start as it had tired considerably over the concluding stages when ridden forward on that occasion. G. Colless added that he was conscious of the fact that the horse usually races on the speed and with this in mind he chose not to chase it out of the barriers. G. Colless further stated that PYM’S LANE relaxed under him and lost ground in the early stages and despite his urgings did not travel comfortably until a point approaching the 600m. G. Colless added the horse secured a nice run through the field and finished the race off well. Trainer’s representative Mr Mark Thompson agreed with the comments of G. Colless, however reaffirmed that it would be the intention at its next start not to ride the horse in a forward position, but was still hopeful of the horse positioning up closer than it did today. The explanation was noted.
Race 2: Skyracing.TV Class 6 H'cap - 1000m
1st – Billie Blue Gum 2nd – Metallurgical 3rd – Explore The World 4th - Bevagna
Connections advised that GREAT MAN would not be ridden as far forward over the 1000m journey. The horse was ridden accordingly.
MISSY WINDY WEEU (S. Drake) and METALLURGICAL (J. Byrne) were slow to begin.
BEVAGNA (D. Browne) had a tendency to lay out when placed under pressure over the final 200m.
A post race veterinary examination of FAVELA STAR failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 3: All Hallows School Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st – Mr Tweed 2nd – The Reveller 3rd – Signpost 4th – Vee One
Connections advised that STARLISTIC would be ridden with cover if possible. The horse was ridden accordingly.
Connections advised that THE REVELLER would be ridden in a midfield position if possible. The horse was ridden accordingly.

JAVARIES overraced in the early stages.
Leaving the 1000m, CREDIT POINT (R. Wiggins) improved up on to the heels of SIGNPOST (C. Munce) and had to be steadied.
Near the 700m, MR TWEED (R. McMahon) shifted in and bumped STARLISTIC (L. Cassidy).
THE REVELLER (G. Colless) had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the final 400m, which resulted in THE REVELLER and SIGNPOST (C. Munce) making contact on 3 occasions over that section.
TWENTY TWO CARAT faltered approaching the 300m.
Over the final 300m when placed under pressure, VEE ONE (S. Seamer) was inclined to lay in under pressure.
THE REVELLER (G. Colless), MR TWEED (R. McMahon) and SIR SLIPPER (P. Hammersley) all raced wide for the majority of the event.
Following this race the track rating was upgraded to Good 3.
Race 4: Mittys Maiden H'cap - 1500m
1st – I’llbetricked 2nd – Murrumba Downs 3rd – Seriously Ready 4th – Coco Dubawi
Jockey J. Stanley was replaced as the rider of TIT TAT TOOEE after information available to the stewards indicated that J. Stanley would not be riding due to illness. However when J. Stanley presented on course and advised that this was not the case, he was reinstated as the rider of TIT TAT TOOEE. Stewards will make further inquiries regarding this matter.
I’LLBETRICKED (A. Spinks) began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with COCO DUBAWI (P. Hammersley).
Near the 1000m, I’LLBETRICKED (A. Spinks), when eased, got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance.
Passing the 400m STREET JAM (C. Munce) was tightened for room when racing between COOINDA (J. Wood) and FINN CLASS (D. Browne), which shifted out to improve. D. Browne, rider of FINN CLASS, was reprimanded for the manner in which he shifted ground at that point.
CUDDLES FOR LAYLA (J. Byrne) was held up for clear running rounding the home turn, and approaching the 300m, improved sharply at the heels of FLAGGES FLYING (J. Bowditch) and as a result had to be steadied and shifted out.
Approaching the 200m, STREET JAM was tightened for room when racing between SEMPER AUGUSTUS (R. McMahon) and KIRKHEATON (D. Griffin), which shifted out. D. Griffin, rider of KIRKHEATON, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
I’LLBETRICKED, SERIOUSLY READY (L. Cassidy) and DIVINE SCENT (A. Erhart) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Stewards sought an explanation from C. Munce regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of STREET JAM. C. Munce stated that the horse travelled well in a forward position, and whilst the speed of the race was genuine, the mare was under pressure approaching the home turn. He added that although STREET JAM received interference at this part of the race, in his opinion, this occurrence did not have a bearing on the performance of STREET JAM and he was disappointed with the mare’s effort. Trainer D. Bougoure advised stewards he was very disappointed with the performance of the horse and that he would have the mare examined by his veterinary surgeon and would report to stewards any abnormality that becomes apparent.
Race 5: Greenwood Signs Class 3 Plate – 1500m
1st – One Tree 2nd – Break The Ice 3rd – Crystal Honour 4th – Sir Riz
Jockey B. Stewart was fined $200 for being overweight and not being able to fulfil his engagement on MECCA BAH.
Connections advised that CRYSTAL HONOUR would be ridden more forward than in previous starts. The horse was ridden accordingly.
The start of this race was delayed as a result of SIR RIZ and HANDSOME DANE having to be examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers. Following the examination, both horses were cleared to start.
MECCA BAH (J. Byrne) BARMAZAL (M. Speers) were both slow to begin.
SIR RIZ (S. Scriven) was tightened for room near the 1000m when racing to the inside of CRYSTAL HONOUR (L. Cassidy), which shifted in.

Approaching the 700m, MACEDON had to be steadied off the heels of BELLA SIRENA and shifted in, making contact with BREAK THE ICE (S. Seamer). STUD MUFFIN, which was trailing, had to be steadied.
ONE TREE (C. Munce) was held up for clear running in the early part of the straight and approaching the 300m had to be eased away from the heels of JIVE QUEEN (S. Galloway), which shifted out.
K. Fuji, rider of LOOPED, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that approaching the 300m, he was careless in permitting his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of BELLA SIRENA (J. Holder), resulting in BELLA SIRENA having to be checked when racing between LOOPED and MACEDON. In deciding on penalty, stewards took into account K. Fuji’s guilty plea and the contribution to the incident by MACEDON, which shifted in slightly at that point. K. Fuji was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 10 April and to expire at midnight, 20 April. Further to this incident, A. Spinks, rider of MACEDON, was cautioned for allowing his mount to shift in slightly at this point.
Nearing the 200m, JIVE QUEEN was crowded for room when racing between SIR RIZ (S. Scriven) and ONE TREE, which shifted in and away from LOOPED (K. Fujii)
BREAK THE ICE (S. Seamer) had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the final 200m, which resulted in MACEDON (A. Spinks) being crowded for room approaching the finish.
STUD MUFFIN laid in badly in the straight.
BELLA SIRENA (J. Holder), MACEDON and STUD MUFFIN (K. Forrester) all raced wide for the majority of the event.
Following the event, SIR RIZ was found to be exhibiting an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer G. Marshall was advised that a veterinary report, including the results of an endoscopic examination of SIR RIZ must be produced to stewards before the gelding races again.
