STEWARDS REPORT – SUNDAY 12TH AUGUST, 2001
STEWARDS:
WEATHER: FINE TRACK: GOOD
RACE 1 CLASS 5 HCP. 1000 METRES (5 STARTERS): At the start STORMY CIRCLES (T. Williams) knuckled over and was hampered by FOREST CHATTER (A. Williams) which jumped inwards.
A. Williams rider of FROEST CHATTER reported to stewards that his mount failed to race truly after its poor start.
RACE 2 MAIDEN HCP. 1100 METRES (6 STARTERS): At the start ZEPHYR MAN (C. Taylor) was slow to begin.
RACE 3 CLASS 3 HCP. 1100 METRES (11 STARTERS): At the start PAXMASTER (A. Williams) was slow to begin.
MISS DE BEERS (J. Baker) threw its head in the air as the gates opened.
ZEPHYR BITE (T. Williams) jumped awkwardly and was further hampered by PIMPALA SQUILLION (R. Hammond) which jumped inwards.
MISS DE BEERS (J. Baker) hung out badly upon entering the straight. A veterinary inspection revealed that the mare was sore in the off fore.
RACE 4 OPEN HCP. 1200 METRES (12 STARTERS): At the start BOLD COUNTY (R. Hammond) was slow to begin.
Approaching the 300 metres SIR SOON (J. Baker) was forced wider on the track by LET’S EXPLODE (D. Evans) which shifted out when improving.
VOLCANIC SPARKLE was held up for clear running until approximately the 100 metres.
RACE 5 CLASS 1 HCP.1200 METRES (13 STARTERS): At the start MACARONEY (J. Baker) jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 250 metre mark MY KINDOM COME (N. Coyne) was slightly hampered when crowded by DAGWORTH (G. Bell) which shifted in under pressure.
Approaching the 200 metres NEWFIELD (D. Simmons) was steadied when crowded by MY KINGDOM COME which shifted out when compounding.
BOOKMAKERS: Two (2) bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and the samples collected were forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
