WEATHER –Fine TRACK – Good
RACE 1 CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000 METRES (5 STARTERS)
As the gates opened ACKAROMA (Appren C. Taylor) jumped awkwardly outwards. Jockey C. Taylor was issued a severe reprimand for allowing his mount ACKAROMA to shift inwards at the 800 metre mark and inconvenience the running of LARRIKINTA (A. Williams). Apprentice C. Taylor was further advised to show more care after allowing his mount to further shift inwards at the 700 metre mark and hamper the running of TERRY’S SECRET (B. Bell). It was reported to Stewards by Apprentice C. Taylor that ACKAROMA, jumped well and did respond to the early pace but failed to run on in the race when placed under pressure.
RACE 2: CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1100 METRES (6 STARTERS)
STORM CALL (G. Bell) stood flat footed and was slow into stride as the start was affected.
RACE 3: MAIDEN H'CAP - 1200 METRES (7 STARTERS)
Trainer S.Iverson was fined the sum of $25 under the terms of Lr42(2) in that he presented SIMON WATCH to the enclosure with incorrect gear.
As the gates opened DAYLIGHT AHEAD (G. Bell) jumped awkwardly outwards making heavy contact with HIGH DEGREE (D. Simmons). Upon returning to scale Jockey J. Oakes reported to the Stewards that his mount KENNIFF COUNTY laid out for the entire journey of the race and changed stride on the home turn.
RACE 4: OPEN H'CAP – 1200 METRES (4 STARTERS)
No incidents in running.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED RACES 1-4.
