General:

The race meeting was transferred from Saturday 16th August until Sunday 17th August due to the unsafe track conditions and forecast.

Due to the transfer of the meeting, Jockey B Powell was unable to fulfil his engagements and replacements made as per summary.

Race 1: XXXX QTIS Class 3 Plate- 1000 metres

STANDOVER- Began awkwardly.

KING KARENA- Was slow to begin when the barrier gate was slow to open.

HIDDEN PRAYER- Jumped inwards

ICE MELODY- Raced wide throughout.

BAR QUEEN JOJO- Raced wide throughout.

CRAIGLEA SEAL- Raced wide throughout.

TUNING- Jockey M Barnham reported that the mare had failed to travel well throughout and was inclined to lay out throughout. He further stated that the rain affected track may have affected its performance.

Race 2: Mayfair tavern Open Handicap- 1000 metres

HEART THROB- Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout

TONK- Slow to begin

SPEEDING DRAGON- Near 700 metres, shifted in slightly.
INDY MISS- Near 700 metres, steadied when another runner shifted in slightly.

EIGHT PIECES- Raced wide throughout

Race 3: EJC Members Bar Maiden Handicap- 1100 metres

BARBOUGE- On arrival at the course, underwent a veterinary inspection when fractious and cast in float. At this time, gelding was cleared to start. On arrival at the barriers, underwent a further veterinary inspection when it was observed blood in its near side nostril. Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.51pm. This was found to be a result of trauma to its sinus tract.

All wagers on BARBOUGE were ordered to be refunded and deductions on successful bets to be paid less the following deductions

RUBIS 15cents Win, 22 cents place
SPANISH MAIDEN 18 cents place
JET FIGHTER 16 cents place

FALSZAK- Jumped out onto another runner.

RED RECALL- Contact with another runner at the start, shifted outwards and lost some ground.

JET FIGHTER- Jockey S Egan was made aware of the rule relating to excessive use of the whip.

Race 4: Maraboon Tavern BM 75 Handicap- 1300 metres

ROYAL FROLIC- Jumped in onto another runner. Rider made aware of rules relating to excessive use of the whip.

PLUM BOB- Contact with another runner at the start. When questioned regarding performance, App McGillivray stated the gelding was attempting the distance with the view to racing over longer distances in future start. After beginning well, he rode the horse back in the field, however was under pressure from near the 600 metres however was one-paced and failed to sprint. In his opinion, PLUM BOB was more competitive over sprint distances and when ridden on the pace.

Race 5: Comet River Hotel Class B Handicap- 1300 metres

PATTAYA- After making heavy contact with the running rail during its preliminary, underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and cleared to start.

LICK ‘EM LOLLY- Slow to begin

VANGUARD- Slow to begin.

TRACKER- Raced ungenerously near the 900 metres and wide throughout.

DESTINY’S TUNE- Raced wide throughout.

BLOOMSDAY- Raced wide throughout

CLOUD DANCER- Raced wide throughout.

COURTMAN- Near 1100 metres, improved and was steadied from heels of another runner.
