STEWARDS REPORT SAT 13/03/2004

WEATHER – FINE TRACK - DEAD



RACE 1 BROADLANDS FARM & NICOL ROBINSON HALLETS MAIDEN PLATE 800M.

PICCOLO PETE was slow away.

WESTERN ERA, which was slow to begin had o be steadied and lost ground to avoid the heels of MY HEADLAND, which jumped in at the start.

OLYMPIC SUNRISE and EVOQUES made contact at the start when both horses shifted ground.

PETITE FRAAR jumped in at the start making contact with YE HA GRANDMA then shifted out abruptly hampering EARS ARE BACK, which had to be restrained to avoid that filly’s heels.

DOCTOR GREEN THUMB was obliged to race wide throughout.

RACE 2 COOL FUEL COPRA CLASSIC CLASS 1 HCP 800M.

Both EASTWEST WISDOM & BIKINI TYCOON were tightened for room at the start between EL’S DANCER & BALLY GOODNGHT which jumped in at the start.

Approaching the 300m EASTWEST WISDOM shifted out to obtain clear running and continued to shift wider on the track over the concluding stages under hard riding.

RACE 3 RIVERSIDE HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE 1200M.

VICTORY LINE was slow away.

RULING DANE stood flat footed as the start was affected losing considerable ground.

RACE 4 RURAL BREAST CARE NURSES CHALLENGE MAIDEN PLATE 1200M.

TURNIP was slow away.

CACHE LOVE began awkwardly losing ground.

A post race vet examination of JAR JAR DANE revealed that gelding to be suffering from heat stress. JAR JAR DANE recovered after treatment.

Stable representative Mr Gurny was questioned into the improved performance of MISSY ROYALE. Mr Gurny stated that the filly’s last run was on a heavy track and a longer distance, which had not suited it, and that today’s conditions were a factor into the improved performance. His comments were noted.

RACE 5 ST. PATRICKS DAY CUP CLASS 1 HCP 1200M.

EFTPOS & MAIZY DAYS made contact at the start when both horses began awkwardly.

Approaching the 600m SILVER CENTUZA shifted out slightly brushing MAIZY DAYS causing SILVER CENTUZA to overreact and shift in making contact with the inside running rail and lose ground.

RACE 6 PAYNTER DIXON QLD & COUNTRY LIFE MAIDEN PLATE 1460M.

The start was delayed until 5.10pm when GENERAL SALUTE dislodged its rider Ms A. Williams in the preliminary and escaped off course. GENERAL SALUTE was declared a late scratching at 5.00pm and all monies invested on GENERAL SALUTE were to be refunded with deductions of 17 cents in the dollar for the win and 15 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of winning tickets were applicable.

OUR THUNDER GIRL was slow away.

Both BEECIES GOLD & LADY DIABLO were tightened for room at the start between JUST A GIGOLO & UNCLE BLADE which jumped in.

M. Smith – Lester was questioned into the poor performance of JOSHUA EXPRESS, which finished last. He stated that JOSHUA EXPRESS had become very stirred up due to the long delay prior to the start and in his opinion had already run its race. His comments were noted.
