Race 1: Racing Every Saturday In Paradise QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate – 1200m.
1st – Facundo 2nd – Educated 3rd – Lovmieko 4th – Maruhaba

B. Pengelly the rider of LOVMIEKO was fined the sum of $100.00 for late arrival on course under LR49.

A. Pattillo the rider of SUAVE CONSORT was reprimanded for failing to arrive on course by the prescribed time under LR49.

K. Forrester was fined the sum of $200.00 for failing to fulfil his engagement on GIBRALTAR SHOW. As a result of K. Forrester’s failure to arrive at the course D. Barron was substituted as the rider of GIBRALTAR SHOW.

PAMELA’S WONDER (J. Taylor) missed the start.

IN NANGANA (C. Eaton) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out brushing the hind quarters of MARUHABA (G. Colless).

GIBRALTAR SHOW (D. Barron) jumped out at the start and made contact with BILIS (W. Pearson).
IN NANGANA commenced to race fiercely near the 900m and shifted out making contact with MYSKA (App M. Palmer).

SUAVE CONSORT (A. Pattillo) raced wide throughout.

IVORSONG (D. Tanti) became unbalanced and lost ground near the 700m. MARUHABA (G. Colless) which was following had to be checked and shifted out taking IN NANGANA out onto MYSKA forcing both horses wider. When questioned D. Tanti stated that he felt that IVORSONG may have struck itself when it overreached.

Near the 300m IN NANGANA which was racing ungenerously shifted out away from LOVMIEKO (B. Pengelly) and made contact with MYSKA.

A postrace veterinary examination of IVORSONG failed to reveal any abnormality.



Race 2: Heels & Holly Xmas Package Available Maiden H’Cap – 1400m .
1st – Another Centurion 2nd – Rapid Flame 3rd – Semine 4th – Black Morgan

G. Colless was fined the sum of $300.00 for being unable to make the weight and was replaced as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.

D. Pires was dislodged from SHANAMIN travelling to the barriers. SHANAMIN was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. D. Pires was uninjured in this incident and able to take his ride.

ZAKUSA (J. Byrne) became fractious in the barriers and following a veterinary examination was cleared to race.

BLACK MORGAN (M. Bennett) got a leg over the barrier partition and the start was further delayed while the horse was cleared by the Club’s veterinary surgeon to race.

SHANAMIN (D. Pires) and JOLENE’S OUR GIRL (App C. Isdale) were tightened on jumping away between GIRLS WITH A HEART (S. Galloway) which jumped away awkwardly and shifted inwards and RAPID FLAME (D. Barron) which jumped outwards.

Near the 100m SEMINE (J. Bowditch) bumped A DIAMOND (J. Taylor) after being taken in by BLACK MORGAN.

J. Taylor was stood down by the paramedics following this event and replaced as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.


Race 3: Picnic Platters – Released For Melbourne Cup Class 3 Plate – 900m.
1st – Quizzical Lady 2nd – Samui Star 3rd - La Sequanna 4th – Niemcz

Trainer K. Doughty was fined the sum of $100.00 for presenting HIGHLY CHIC late to the saddling enclosure.

App M. Palmer was fined the sum of $100.00 for accepting two rides in the one race. As a consequence App C. Isdale was substituted as the rider of GLIMPSES.

KENNELLY (D. Barron) was also late into in the saddling enclosure however, as there was a late rider replacement no action was taken.

KALKIE KANE (J. Holder) jumped inwards at the start and made heavy contact with SAMUI STAR (B. El-Issa) which missed the start when it jumped away awkwardly.

GLIMPSES (App C. Isdale) jumped in the air at the start.

HE’S SOME EAGLE (M. Heagney), THE ITALIAN (W. Pearson) and HIGHLY CHIC (J. Clarke) were all tightened on jumping away between SLEEK REPEAT (G. Palmer) which shifted in and away from SAKO (J. Byrne) and LA SEQUANNA (D. Tanti) which jumped outwards.

HIGHLY CHIC (J. Clarke) was inclined to lay out near the 400m and had to be eased to avoid the heels of LA SEQUANNA.

B. El-Issa was examined following this event by the paramedics and stood down from his remaining rides and substituted as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.



Race 4: Happy 60th Ray Saunders Class 6 Plate – 1200m.
1st – Tour Guide 2nd – Tornadic Sky 3rd – Matzumi 4th – Line By Line

MATZUMI (D. Pires) which had been held up rounding the home turn was disappointed for a run between LINE BY LINE (D. Barron) and KANETOSHI MILLIONS (App M. Palmer) which shifted out and near the 250m had to be moved to the outside of the heels of LINE BY LINE to obtain clear running.

Near the 100m KANETOSHI MILLIONS had to ease to avoid the heels of LINE BY LINE which shifted in.



Race 5: Corporate Marquees Available For Magic Millions Class 6 Plate – 1800m.
1st – Willy Leica 2nd – Bringelly 3rd – Down To Earth 4th – Tattyam

ST LOUIS BLUE (App M. Palmer) was slow to jump.

BIT OF MAGIC (App J. Clarke) was tightened at the start between ZABINSKI (J. Holder) and BRINGELLY (S. Seamer) when both horses shifted ground.

An inquiry into the reason for NOREIL (W. Pearson) being checked near the 300m will be held prior to the first race on Wednesday 19 September 2007.




Race 6: Happy 40th Danny Lesjak Open H’Cap – 1400m.
1st – Fine Cheval 2nd – Grecolo 3rd – Lachlan River 4th – Mr Doyle

INTEMPERATE (S. Seamer) missed the start.

Near the 1100m GRECOLO (J. Byrne) had to be steadied when cramped for room by TUDOR QUEST (A. Pattillo) which shifted in.

Near the 600m MOTIVATE (D. Tanti) and WARRIOR TRADER (S. Galloway) were cramped for room by LACHLAN RIVER (B. Pengelly) which shifted in.

After passing the 600m ACTIVE COMBAT (M. Traecey) became unbalanced and raced in restricted room inside of MONSOON SUNRISE (J. Bowditch) which was cramped for room by PICABLU (App Michael Palmer).

Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for MONSOON SUNRISE (J. Bowditch) falling near the 400m, WARRIOR TRADER was severely checked causing S. Galloway to be dislodged and ACTIVE COMBAT (M. Traecey) falling. Jockeys J. Bowditch, M. Traecey and S. Galloway all received ambulance attention and were transported to Gold Coast hospitals for medical attention. Stewards took evidence from the following riders:-

G. Colless – Testafiable
S. Seamer – Intemperate

The inquiry was adjourned until a date and time to be fixed to enable the injured riders to provide evidence.

When MONSOON SUNRISE fell the following horses received varying degrees of interference to avoid the fallen horses and riders:-

Picablu, Lachlan River, Canadian Bunny, Motivate, Testafiable and Intemperate

A postrace veterinary examination of MONSOON SUNRISE revealed the gelding had sustained a broken off fore cannon bone. MONSOON SUNRISE was euthanaised on humane grounds. WARRIOR TRADER also sustained several lacerations in the incident and ACTIVE COMBAT revealed minor lacerations to the gum.

Following jockeys S. Galloway, J. Bowditch and M. Traecey requiring medical attention and being transported to hospital Race 7 was delayed and rescheduled to 4.57 p.m. and Race 8 was rescheduled to 5.27 p.m.



Race 7: Skyline Restaurant Book Now Class 3 H’Cap – 1400m.
1st – Barclays 2nd – Brambletye 3rd – Boisterous Boy 4th – Aussie Rock

BARCLAYS (D. Barron) and UNREQUITED (W. Pearson) brushed on jumping away.
BRAMBLETYE (S. Seamer) jumped out at the start taking MR BEANWATER (K. Forrester) out onto BISCARANI (D. Pires).

DETERMINATION (J. Byrne) jumped awkwardly.

BARCLAYS hung in near the 900m placing UNREQUITED in restricted room.

Approaching the 600m BARCLAYS had to be steadied off the heels of BOISTEROUS BOY (A. Pattillo).

D. Tanti the rider of MR RUMPOLE was dislodged when the horse was returning to scale.


Race 8: Xmas Lawn Marquee Party – Sat 15 Dec Class 3 H’Cap – 1400m .
1st – Calchris 2nd – Vereker Street 3rd – Cape Chivas 4th – Eternal Belle

ARTOUSTE (App Matthew Palmer) jumped in the air and missed the start.

SANDOWNSTEPPE (App C. Isdale) missed the start.

Near the 300m DON’T PAYTHERANSOM (J. Byrne) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of OUR JAMES (L. Cheshire) which shifted out to improve.

Leaving the 300m CALCHRIS (B. Pengelly) attempted a tight run between PUNCH UP (J. Holder) and BALD EAGLE (D. Tanti) and when taking a run made contact initially with PUNCH UP then shifted out and brushed BALD EAGLE.
