MIATOKO (D Barron) was slow to begin.

EARLY NEWS (App. J Johnson) and ROYAL SAVIVRE (T Treichel) bumped on jumping away.

EARLY NEWS over-raced during the early stages of the event.

RYE FILLY OURS (A Pattillo) and ROYAL SAVIVRE raced in restricted room from the 600m until leaving the 500m.

JEKAMA (C Whiteley) was momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn when awkwardly placed at the heels of ABUNDANT RESOURCES (App. A Kitson) which shifted out slightly. RYE FILLY OURS which was following was also held up as a consequence.

Near the 100m RYE FILLY OURS shifted to the outside of ZAHAVAH’s (D Griffin) heels in order to improve and in doing so forced ROSE OF SEVILLE (D Missen) wider on the track. Jockey A Pattillo the rider of RYE FILLY OURS was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.

A post-race veterinary examination of ROSE OF SEVILLE revealed the filly to be lame in the near fore leg. TWENTY TWO RED hung out rounding the home turn.

When questioned as to the tactics adopted on DELOROSA, particularly in the early stages of the event, App. T Harrison stated that she had intended riding the filly in a more forward position however it blundered upon jumping. App. Harrison added that after DELOROSA blundered she attempted to ride the filly forward so as to take up a more prominent position however, it still felt awkward in its action and as such she allowed the filly to find its feet which resulted in DELOROSA racing further back than she had anticipated. App. Harrison further added that in her opinion DELOROSA found the line strongly under heavy riding. Her explanation was noted.

When questioned as to the overall performance of DIBELLA, Jockey D Griffin stated that connections had advised him that the filly had been freshened up since its last start win over 900m. Jockey Griffin was of the opinion that as a result of this DIBELLA was unable to muster the necessary speed in the early stages, despite his efforts, to obtain a more forward position. Jockey Griffin is of the opinion that DIBELLA is now looking for further ground in its races. Jockey Griffin explained that DIBELLA was then held up from the 400m to the 300m when attempting to improve to the outside of SUNSETS ON FIRE (A Pattillo). Once DIBELLA obtained a position to the outside of SUNSETS ON FIRE the filly was forced to race in restricted room between SUNSETS ON FIRE and TWENTY TWO RED until a point leaving the 150m. His explanation was noted.
