As B Swaffer was ill and not riding at the meeting, rider changes were made as per the Stewards Summary.

Race 1:.Underwood Party Hire Maiden Handicap 1100m
1st -Technocracy 2nd – Standford 3rd – Unicaleo 4th –Christmas Vampire

OUTBACK SUPREMACY (S Pawsey) was slow into stride.

UNICALEO (N Yadi) jumped out at the start onto HARRY THE WARRIOR (S Kaya).

THE SHERIFF (G Kliese) jumped awkwardly at the start.

STANDFORD (J Stopps) hung out throughout.

CHRISTMAS VAMPIRE (E Ljung) shifted in near the 150m which resulted in RUNABOUT (F Edwards) having to ease.

Race 2:.Parkview Tavern Qtis Class 1 Handicap 1100m
1st –Alo Magic 2nd –Spurparts 3rd –Court Action 4th- Goldvan

SPIRIT OF A DRAGON (F Edwards) began awkwardly. Jockey Edwards reported to Stewards on returning to scale that SPIRIT OF A DRAGON failed to handle the heavy track conditions today and subsequently performed disappointingly.

DRAGON KEEPER (K Stone) jumped awkwardly from the barriers.

COURT ACTION (G Kliese) jumped in and made contact with GOLDVAN (I Toward) at the start.

Jockey Ljung reported to Stewards on returning to scale that ERNEST ALBERT failed to handle the heavy track conditions today and subsequently performed disappointingly.


Race 3:. Ecu Australia Benchmark70 Handicap 1100m
1st – Apache Pup 2nd –Melakai 3rd –Kinetic Heat 4th – Special Credit


Jockey K Stone the rider of SPECIAL CREDIT pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under Ar. 137(a) in that near the 700m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MELAKAI (M Elliott) which resulted in that runner being tightened for room and forced to check. Jockey Stone’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 meetings commencing midnight 13 April 2013 and to expire at midnight 20 April 2013.

APACHE PUP (E Ljung) was slow to leave the barriers.

KINETIC HEAT (S Pawsey) jumped awkwardly from the barriers

Race 4: Marino Moller Lawyers Class B Handicap 1100m
1st – Army of One 2nd – Angels Award 3rd –Pudzianowski 4th – Great Impressions

FLYING HIGH (J Felix) was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 2:50pm after the horse was unable to be loaded onto the float to be transported to the race meeting.

BE GRAND (J Stopps) jumped awkwardly.

IDLE SITUATION (E Ljung) which was hampered at the start never travelled well on the heavy track and proved disappointing.

At the start GREAT IMPRESSIONS (M Atkinson) was hampered between PUDZIANOWSKI (W D’Avila) and ANGELS AWARD (J Dickinson) both of which shifted ground.

PUDZIANOWSKI (W D’Avila) was inclined to over race at the 850m mark and near the 700m hung out and bumped PRINCESS FELICIA who lost some ground.

Race 5:. Michael Aw Good Guys Open Handicap 1100m
1st –Beurre 2nd –Carvelon 3rd –The Take 4th – Vantabulous

VANTABULOUS (I Toward) was slow to begin.



Race 6: .Louies Liquor Barn Benchmark 60 Handicap 1360m
1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th -

After all the horses were loaded into the barriers, the barriers malfunctioned, resulting in the gates of all runners, with the exception of LIL’ RED MONKEY, opening prematurely without the starter affecting the start. As a result of the barriers opening prematurely a number of runners were quickly restrained however STARTUS (S Kaya), MASTER INVADER (G Kliese), YEAH MATE (F Edwards) and POCKET WATCH (J Stopps) all completed a full circuit of the track. After taking evidence from the race day Starter and viewing the available patrol films, Stewards ruled that acting under AR132(a) that a false start had occurred and the therefore a No Race was ordered.



Race 7: .Heritage Brady Funeral Directors Open Handicap 1360m
1st –No Wonder 2nd –De Ville 3rd -Albuquerque 4th –Oscar the Great

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Trainer O Cairns in relation the to that scratching of MIGHTY MITE at 8:00am.

Jockey Jason Stopps received a caution regarding his use of the whip in the home straight.
