UNDERCOVER SECRET (S. Bayliss) blundered at the start, shifted in and made contact with ONE EAT ONE (T. Tincknell) which was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, HE’S A BOOMER (R. Payne) whilst racing ungenerously shifted in and bumped One Eat One, and lost ground as a result.

Apprentice Derbyshire was afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance of ANDONNA. Apprentice Derbyshire stated that the filly was reluctant to work into the race near the 600m, and when placed under pressure near that point the filly failed to respond and proved most disappointing. Apprentice Derbyshire also added that in her opinion the filly may have failed to run out the distance of todays event. Trainer K. Munce expressed similar comments as from Apprentice Derbyshire in regards to the performance, and advised stewards that it would be his intention to now sent ANDONNA for a spell. Trainer K. Munce reported to stewards in days following the event that ANDONNA had pulled up shinsore, and would now be sent for an immediate spell.

Race 2: NOLAN VALE CLASS B HCP 850m
1st – Hidden Duck 2nd - Heart'n Soul 3rd – Steerman 4th – Black Monty

After weighing out for race 2, apprentice R. Payne was stood down by the ambulance officers. Apprentice B. Stower replaced apprentice R. Payne as the rider of AIRGEAD.

KLUBBITT (L. Appo) reared at the start and lost ground.

KAPPYTAIN (T. Williams) was slow to begin.

Apprentice T. Brooker, rider of Hidden Duck, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 600m, she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of DUAN SNIPPY (D. Gill), resulting in DUAN SNIPPY being tightened for room and checked by its rider. Apprentice T. Brooker was issued with a reprimand. In Determining penalty, stewards took into account this was the first occasion that apprentice T. Brooker had been spoken to regarding this rule.

Near the 400m BLACK MONTY (T. Tincknell) had to be steadied when tightened for room between DANGEROUS EDITION (J. Orman) and HIDDEN DUCK (T. Brooker) which shifted in.

HEART'N SOUL (J. Hoopert) and STEERMAN (B. Derbyshire) both raced wide throughout the event.

Race 4: NAB MORE GIVE LESS TAKE B’MARK 75 HCP 1030m

3 cents for the win
4 cents for the place

HEART OF MELBOURNE (T. Brooker) and LATIN AMERICAN (T. Tincknell) were both slow to begin.

LATIN AMERICAN raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 5: NOLAN PRIVATE SELCTION CLASS 3 PLATE 1170m
1st – The Blizzard 2nd – Saveeda 3rd – Countrywide 4th – Lady Rutherford

SAVEEDA (T. Tincknell) was slow to begin.

THE BLIZZARD (T. Williams) raced wide in the early stages until a point near the 800m were it established a position outside the lead.

Race 6: NOLAN MEATS GYMPIE MUSTER CUP HCP 1600m
1st - Harney 2nd - Tallahatchie 3rd - Cobbanvilla 4th - Teddy Bare

Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the winning post on the first occasion where CAPTAIN FASTBUCK was tightened for room, clipped heels and fell, dislodging its rider M. Morris. After taking statements from all riders involved, and viewing the race patrol footage. Stewards established that when approaching the winning post on the first occasion CAPTAIN FASTBUCK was receiving some tightening as a result from FLOOD HERO (C. Kearney) and TALLAHATCHIE (L. Appo) to its outside, and as a result of this, has shifted in making contact with TEDDY BARE (L. Dillion) which has then raced ungenerously after the contact and shifted out taking CAPTAIN FASTBUCK out across the heels of FLOOD HERO (C. Kearney) which had continued to shift in, causing CAPTAIN FASTBUCK to clip that runners heels and fall. Stewards could not be satisfied that any one rider was at fault, and there for took no further action. In this incident TEDDY BARE was also hampered and made the first turn wide.

TALLAHATCHIE (L. Appo) raced wide for the majority of the event.
