Race 1: NQAS POWERSHED-SILVAN-CASTROL CLASS 5 H’CAP– 900 metres
1st – Starlaistic 2nd – Maecenus 3rd – Danger Diva 4th - In A Jam

IN A JAM (F Edwards) and STARLISTIC (M Elliott) made contact on jumping away.

Jockey T Bannon advised Stewards on returning to scale that she had intended to ride her mount SAVANNAH GOLD in a forward position however she was unable to muster the necessary speed to obtain the leading position. She added that when placed under pressure in the home straight the gelding failed to run on as she had expected and proved disappointing.

RACE 2: - KFSU LTD QTIS CLASS 1 H’CAP-1000metres
1st –Rattle The Tin 2nd -Gloucester Storm 3rd –Rocketmountainhigh 4th –Court Affaire

RATTLE THE TIN (E Ljung) jumped in at the start making contact with ROCKETMOUNTAINHIGH (D Simmons).

Shortly after the start ROCKETMOUNTAINHIGH and COURT AFFAIRE (M Elliott) were both tightened for room between RATTLE THE TIN and DIURNAL TIGER (F Edwards) both of which shifted ground.

Near the 800m, GLOUCESTER STORM (S Wilson) was steadied to avoid the heels of RATTLE THE TIN which shifted in when not completely clear. GLOUCESTER STORM then raced with its head in the air for a short distance.

Near the 700m, DIAMOND INDULGENCE (T Bannon) was forced to ease when tightened for room between DIURNAL TIGER and ROJO BUZZ (A Dykes) which shifted out marginally after improving onto the heels of GLOUCESTER STORM whilst over racing.

A post-race Veterinary Inspection of LOTSA PENNIES (G Kliese) which tailed off, revealed the filly to be sore across the hind quarters. Trainer C Hurle was advised that prior to next racing she will be required to obtain a Veterinary Clearance for the filly. Ms Hurle was further advised that LOTSA PENNIES would also be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.

Race 3: - KFSU LTD QTIS CLASS 1 H’CAP– 1000 metres
1st – Rhythm’n’Rap 2nd – Love That Dragon 3rd – Goldvan 4th – Iveradacious

PARSNIPS (K Grace) and RHYTHM ‘N’RAP (F Edwards) were both slow to begin.

Near the 400m, HONEST ACTION (J Babarovich) was forced to ease to avoid the heels of LOVE THAT DRAGON (E Ljung) which hung out despite the efforts of its rider.

IVERADACIOUS (G Kliese) was held up for clear running and unable to improve for a short distance near the 100m.

Race 4: – PACIFIC REEF FISHERIES MAIDEN PLATE – 1180 metres
1st –Tanmeyya 2nd –Sheridan 3rd –Thankgodforfranc 4th –Upmarket

ABSOLUTE DESTINY (J BABAROVICH) was tightened for room at the start between CHICKA SIERRA (M Harris) and THANKGODFORFRANC (D Simmons) both of which shifted ground.

WINDSOR GOLD (S Cooke) raced wide throughout.

Race 5: – LIQUOR LEGENDS OPEN H’Cap – 1180 metres
1st –Budabar 2nd –Wandering Star 3rd –Apache Pup 4th –Orientelle

Prior to the event Trainer O. Cairns advised Stewards that she would be instructing STEEL DRAGON’S rider, E Ljung, to ride the gelding in a forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

APACHE PUP (T Bannon) over raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

Race 6: – MOORE STEPHENS CLASS B H’Cap – 1460 metres
1st –Happy Jones 2nd –Iownaprince 3rd –Savasha 4th –Arcanus

LITTLE VICTORIES (E Ljung) which was slow to begin, raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages of the event and blundered when racing over the crossing near the 1300m.

Race 7: – XXXX GOLD BURDEKIN CUP OPEN H’Cap – 1830 metres
1st –Junee Boy 2nd –Mohtashem 3rd –Cash Attack 4th –Our Boy Lukas

MOHTASHEM (T Bannon) jumped in at the start and made contact with TATS ZEPHYR (F Edwards).

Shortly after the start CASH ATTACK (P Cullen) shifted out and made contact with YOUR MOVE (A Dykes) which in turn shifted out and made contact with OUR BOY LUKAS (D Simmons) which was forced wider on the track.

Near the 1700m, CASH ATTACK was forced to ease to avoid the heels of TATS ZEPHYR which shifted in when not completely clear.

MIGHTY MITE (E Ljung) over raced badly during the early and middle stages of the event.

YOUR MOVE (A Dykes) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Near the 150m, CASH ATTACK was forced to steady and shift out to avoid the heels of JUNEE BOY (J Babarovich) which shifted in when placed under pressure.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of TATS ZEPHYR trainer R Chillemi advised Stewards that he was disappointed in the performance of TATS ZEPHYR today as it had worked well in preparation for today’s event and as such he had expected a forward performance from the gelding. Mr Chillemi further advised that as the gelding normally settles towards the rear of the field and runs on strongly in its races, that it was not entirely suited on today’s track whereby the home straight is only 200m long. Stewards noted the explanation.
