INNISFAIL TURF CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 19/10/02

STEWARDS PANEL: R Doyle (Chairman), W Abell, B Gray, J Steele

WEATHER – FINE TRACK – GOOD RAIL – TRUE

RACE 1: BROTHERS LEAGUES CLUB QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN H'CAP – 900M

BUTTER ME UP and GAZZAM were slow in to stride.

ON HER LAURELS jumped in at the start making contact with OUR MUFFY.

RACE 2: JOE’S CARTONS & FIBRE CONTAINERS CLASS 4 H'CAP – 900M

BORROLOOLA LAD and LEAVITA were slow in to stride.

RACE 3: DYNAMIC TIMBERS & BESSER MASONRY MAIDEN H'CAP – 1100M

DIRECT CREDIT returned to scale with blood from both nostrils. The mare was examined by the clubs Veterinary surgeon who found that the bleeding may have been caused by a blow received in the barriers and in his opinion the horse should not be declared a bleeder under the terms of AR 53 (a).

LE COUP jumped awkwardly making heavy contact with CORPORATE EDGE.

DIRTY COWBOY was slow in to stride.

LE COUP hung in badly under pressure in the home straight, D Canny was unable to ride the gelding out.

RACE 4: GOODYEAR WEIGHT FOR AGE H'CAP – 1200M

The start was delayed when WILL’S SECRET broke through the barrier, Vet inspected the horse and was passed fit to start.

RACE 5: POZZEBOW TRANSPORT CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M

After leaving the 800m WOREE LAD shifted in, resulting in DEEALLA being eased and taken in on to KAMERUKA, which in turn tightened EDGEWANA. K Penrose, the rider of WOREE LAD, was reprimanded.

CELESTAMOR shifted out over concluding stages of race.

RACE 6: IDEAL ELECTRICAL CLASS H'CAP – 1500M

CASTELOZOS was inclined to lay in under pressure over concluding stages of race.

RACE 7: AMCOR FIBRE PACKAGING H'CAP – 2000M

CAUTIOUS SPIRIT tended to over race in the early stages of the race and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of DREAM OUT LOUD.

After leaving the 800m CAUTIOUS SPIRIT and OLD TRAFFORD had to be steadied to avoid the heels of RUFUS EM, which shifted in.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.

Pre race swabs samples were taken from the following horses:

Race 7. CAUTIOUS SPIRIT, MR. MARUMO, AVIARA, CLOSING TIME, PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, DREAM OUT LOUD, RUFUS EM, RACY DANCER, OLD TRAFFORD, WANDDINI, NADIR SHAH & BRITISH SPY.
