The secretary received information at 07.50 AM that jockey R. Ryan was unable to fulfil his riding engagements. No reason was given.

Race 1:Innisfail Ice Class 4 Handicap. Distance –. 900m.

1st General Jake 2 nd – Jewel Of Danetree 3rd – Prince Karion 4th- Miss Juba

I Toward replaced R Ryan as ridder of Miss Juba. Circle of White (Ms. P Edwards) was slow to leave the barrier stalls and drifted out under pressure in the last 150m.

Race 2 Haack Transport Maiden Plate Distance—900m.
1st -Conny Concretia 2nd - Maya Magic 3rd - Let’s Mambo 4th- Young Dub.

Belle Chardon (App. C McCallum) eased at the 400m. position to avoid the heels of Maya Magic (F Edwards) which shifted ground slightly. At the same position Conny Concretia (I Toward) moved out and raced wide for the next 200m.
At approximately the 270m. position Belle Chardon moved out forcing Segno Rapido (E Kopwald) wide. At the 150m. position Let’s Mambo ( Ms. P Edwards) moved out and Strictly A Danger ( K Brady) drifted in, the two horses made heavy contact.

Race 3: Qlink Class B handicap. Distance—1100m.
1st- City Of Smiles 2nd - She Can Cha Cha 3rd - Miss Lopez 4th-Missing In Action

Ms. L Buckingham replaced R Ryan as rider of Lenstra. As the gates opened Nathan’s Command (Ms.D Armstrong) jumped outwards making contact with Let’s Twist Again (Ms. K Penrose). Little Cutie (Ms.P Edwards) raced wide at the 400m. position and down the straight. Jockey I Toward reported to the stewards that he did not apply pressure to his mount Nebula in the final stages of the race, fearing that it may have broken down. Nebula was examined by the veterinary surgeon who could find nothing abnormal with the gelding.

Race 4: Fitzgerald Cup Class 5 Handicap. Distance—1500m.

1st. Ignite Me. 2nd -Selling Strides 3rd – Into The Trees 4th-A Thousand Degrees

K Rockett replaced R Ryan as rider of Don’t Worry. Don’t worry was slow into galloping action. Selling Strides ( App. C McCallum) was held up for a clear run at the 300m. postion.
