RACE 1: MAGIC MILLIONS SUPER QRIS MINIBOWL - 1200M.
WHEELAWAY jumped away awkwardly.
A short distance after the start, KANGAROO POINT was hampered between ROAD TO HEAVEN and FLYING DOUBT, which shifted in.
RACE 2: ALLSITE RENTALS H'CAP - 1200M.
Near the 200m., GRACEWICK was inclined to shift in momentarily.
RACE 3:CERVETTO & COURTICE SOLICITORS H'CAP - 1100M.
On jumping away, A. Parramore's foot slipped from the off side stirrup iron of WIRRADILLA.
AFRAID was slow to begin.
CIARA was tightened between TWILONG and ELVIE DEE when both horses shifted ground at the start.
A. Wheadon, rider of HUKA JET, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of ROYAL CARTOOSH near the 800m., causing that horse to be checked. A. Wheadon was suspended for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 28 January, and to expire at midnight, 8 February 2001.
After leaving the 800m., as the pace slowed, TWILONG had to be eased off the heels of RIGHT NOW PLEASE and shifted out abruptly, causing CIARA to be severely checked. As a consequence of this incident, ROYAL CARTOOSH was forced across the heels of HUKA JET and KAVAMP was inconvenienced.
Approaching the home turn, CIARA hung off, taking ROYAL CARTOOSH and TWILONG wider.
Following the race, trainer P. Duff reported that RIGHT NOW PLEASE had sustained lacerations to both hind legs.
RACE 4: BLUE RIBBON MOTORS H'CAP - 2150M.
MAJESTIC HEIGHTS was slow to jump.
In the vicinity of the 1400m., DAWN BREAKER was inclined to pull hard when the pace was slow and had to be eased off the heels of ZAMCAY.
RACE 5: MARBURG HOTEL H'CAP - 1200M.
WESTERLY was slow to begin.
COMPOSITA jumped outwards at the start, taking HEARTLY GIRL out on to HUSSAR'S HOPE.
COURTLY TRUMP shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 6: BAIRD & HAYES SURVEYORS H'CAP - 1000M.
BOLD BABE was held up for clear running approaching the home turn and was hampered near the 200m. due to the tiring DRUM COUNTY shifting in.
CLAYTONS was inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
RACE 7: GRAEME CROOKS DISCOUNT TYRE SERVICE H'CAP - 1500M.
As S. Seamer was indisposed after riding in race 4, M. Aspinall was substituted as the rider of SHE'S TAWRRIFIC, and M. Smith-Lester as the rider of POETIC EARL in race 8.
After entering the straight and until approaching the 100m., KAILEY REVIVAL was held up for clear running behind the tiring MORGAN'S RUN.
Near the 200m., SNAPPY HULA shifted in and made contact with the hind quarters of KAILEY REVIVAL.
SHE'S TAWRRIFIC had difficulty obtaining clear running until after leaving the 200m..
RACE 8: WALLOON WALKERS REAL ESTATE H'CAP - 1100M.
Due to transport difficulties, KILKENNY PRINCE was a late scratching at 2 p.m..
TAIYO BAY, which jumped away awkwardly, shifted in shortly after the start and made contact with LEVANTE.
Near the 800m., SAM'S APPEAL was momentarily tightened between VIVID EDGE, which was overracing, and TAIYO BAY, which shifted in.
CANADIAN SHIELD hung out making the home turn, causing LEVANTE to be inconvenienced.
Near the finish line, CANADIAN SHIELD shifted out under pressure.
