ROCKITELLIE (S. Bogenhuber) and LOVE YOU LIBBY (M. Vance) made contact on jumping away when both horses shifted ground. As a result, LOVE YOU LIBBY then shifted out, making contact with LADY'S GATHERING (S. Apthorpe).

BILLABONG BIRD,which raced wide throughout the race, commenced to hang out leaving the 500m until entering the home straight

ROCKITELLIE was held up on the heels of SIX BALLS AGAIN from the 300m until leaving the 200m.

When questioned as to the disappointing performance of LOVE YOU LIBBY, apprentice M. Vance stated that despite travelling well in the early and middle stages, LOVE YOU LIBBY failed to respond to her riding in the home straight and proved disappointing. Trainer R. Heathcote expressed his disappointment in the performance of LOVE YOU LIBBY, however was unable to offer any explanation. Mr Heathcote undertook to have further tests conducted on the mare following today's race and would report the findings to stewards A post race veterinary examination of LOVE YOU LIBBY failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

Race 2: Channel 7 3yo Maiden Plate – 800m

LITTLE RED, which was fractious in the float during transportation to the track, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

UNIQUE MISTIQUE (D. McIntosh) and VIVID IMAGINATION (S. Bogenhuber) were slow to begin.

EXCEPTS (T. Harrison) began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with LITTLE RED (J. Kehoe), which lost ground.

LITTLE RED, which had a tendency to hang out for the majority of the race, shifted out abruptly near the 300m, making heavy contact with JOKES ASEIDE (T. Bell), which in turn shifted out, making heavy contact with TEX 'N' ESTHER (T. Wolfgram), resulting in both horses being forced wider. Whilst stewards noted the racing manners of LITTLE RED, they were particularly concerned in the manner of riding which jockey J. Kehoe displayed at that point of the race and as such he was severely reprimanded and was put notice that a repetition of such riding may lead to a review of the status of his current licence.

Near the 300m, VIVID IMAGINATION had to be momentarily steadied when racing between SPURRED UP (M. Cahill) and EXCEPTS, which shifted in slightly when racing greenly. T. Harrison, rider of EXCEPTS, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

When questioned regarding the performance UNIQUE MYSTIQUE, jockey D. McIntosh stated that the horse was slow to begin from its wide barrier and was unable to muster any early speed as a result, and then raced very greenly throughout, however once balanced approaching the winning post found the line strongly. Jockey McIntosh further explained that he had advised trainer M. Callaghan that whilst UNIQUE MYSTIQUE did race greenly, he felt it would be better suited over longer distances than that of today's race.

Approaching the 200m, THE IPPY JET (S. Sheargold) shifted in and had to be steadied.

JIMMY TWISTS (A. Butler) had difficulty obtaining clear running leaving the 200m.

Near the 500m, SHOW ME THE GEM shifted out, making contact with MOUNTAIN PROMISE (T. Harrison) forcing that horse wider.

PROXY RULER (A. Fancourt) had a tendency to hang out in the home straight under pressure and in doing so inconvenienced BOSSBOSS (L. Rolls) near the finish line.

SHOW ME THE GEM improved onto the heels BOSSBOSS near the 100m and shifted out.

HAZY HUNTER raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 6: Optus Class 2 H'cap – 1350m

STRATOJET (M. Hellyer) was slow to begin.

HERE'S ROGER (S. Bogenhuber) jumped outwards at the start, making contact with DWAN (T. Bell) and lost ground as a consequence.

Approaching the 1200m, MARC THE MAGPIE (J. Stanley) had to be steadied when racing between DWAN and LADY BUTTERFLY (V. Colgan), which shifted in. V. Colgan, rider of LADY BUTTERFLY, was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.

Leaving the 1100m, DWAN shifted in and away from LADY BUTTERFLY (V. Colgan) and had to be steadied.

T. Harrison, rider of HYDRAZINE, pleaded guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 200m she shifted out around the heels DWAN (T. Bell), making heavy contact with STRATOJET (M. Harrison was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 13 November and to expire at midnight, 22 November.

FLINDERS COMMAND (B. Appo) raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 7: City Of Ipswich Class 1 H'cap – 1666m

Connections advised that with the addition of blinkers, SO DELICIOUS would be ridden in a more forward position. The horse was ridden accordingly.

The start was delayed when CASTLEDALE LAD reared over backwards at the barriers, dislodging M. Cahill. M. Cahill declared himself free of injury and a veterinary examination of CASTLEDALE LAD cleared the gelding to start.

SO DELICIOUS (R. McMahon) had difficulty obtaining clear running leaving the 200m.

AUDACIOUS AL (J. Stanley) raced in restricted room leaving the 100m between CLASSIC KITTEN, which shifted in slightly, and PRINCESS DAT (S. Bogenhuber), which shifted out under pressure. A short distance later, POUND ON TUBBY (T. Bell) had to be steadied approaching the winning post when racing in restricted room to the inside of PRINCESS DAT, which then shifted in. S. Bogenhuber, rider of PRINCESS DAT, was reprimanded and advised to make greater effort to prevent her mounts shifting ground in similar circumstances.

When questioned into the performance of POUND ON TUBBY, T. Bell stated it was his intention to ride the horse more forward however when POUND ON TUBBY was crowded for room shortly after the start by AUDACIOUS AL, which shifted in, the horse was reluctant to improve forward to its inside and as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated. He was further of the opinion that the gear change of blinkers off for the first time may have had a bearing on the horse's racing manners today. T. Bell further added that as a result of settling back in the field POUND ON TUBBY had a tendency to overrace and throw its head in the air in the early stages.

M. Cahill was asked to explain the performance of CASTLEDALE LAD. He explained that the horse was very fractious behind the barriers and overraced in the early and middle stages. However once being placed under pressure to improve leaving the 500m, CASTLEDALE LAD failed to respond to his riding and he was disappointed with the performance, however felt the horse's manners prior to the start may have had a bearing on its performance today.
