Race 1: CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1800 metres
When attempting to improve at about the 600 metres SOMERSET ROAD (C Beets) had to be steadied off the heels of SPIRITUAL SONG (P Cullen).

Race 2: CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1500 metres
HAZEL IN VIENNA (M Young) raced ungenerously in the early stages and stewards placed a warning on that horse.
J Stanley reported that DUSTY’S MAGIC tended to lay in over the concluding stages.
Approaching the home turn LARRIKAN LANCE (E Dredge) had to steady off the heels of DUSTY’S MAGIC (J Stanley) when looking for a run.

Race 3: HANDICAP – 1250 metres
Apprentice B Hull (ASTROFLASH) was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out on the home turn and come into contact with and inconvenience CAPRILL (D Simmons).

Race 4: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1250 metres
After reporting car problems J Stopps failed to arrive on course in time to take the mount on INHIBIT and was replaced by P Cullen.


Race 5: CLASS1 HANDICAP - 1050 metres
BON SIMONE (D Green) refused to jump and after questioning the starter, D Green and the head on steward that horse was declared a runner. BON SIMONE will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to renominating.

Race 6: CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1050 metres
After reporting car problems J Stopps failed to arrive on course in time to take the mount on UNIVERSAL LAD and was replaced by D Simmons.
HOULIHAN (M Bennett) raced ungenerously throughout.
Approaching the 800m WESTERN DOWNS tended to over race and rolled in coming into contact with HOULIHAN (M Bennett).
Shortly after straightening WESTERN DOWNS lay in for a couple of strides brushing RORY’S TYPHOON (P Cullen).
Following the race stewards inspected an area of the track at about the 600 metres where the grass ahd started to lift in patches. The club staff applied some top dressing and the track was passed to race.

Race 7: CLASS 6 PLATE – 1500 metres
At about the 1100 metres QUARTPOT (M Bennett) rolled out coming into contact with BANNOCK BAY (D Simmons).
Trainer Kistan Price was questioned regarding the presenting of KUMPEL ANTON with the incorrect saddlecloth. Being her first offence she was issued with a reprimand.

Race 8: QTIS CLASS 3HANDICAP – 1250 metres
M L Evans involved in a track accident at Rockhampton and not available to ride.
VALIANT LAD scratched at 3.22pm acting on veterinary advice.
SISTER CATHERINE (P Cullen) slowly away.
SILVER SAIL (M Bennett) was inclined to lay in over the concluding stages once placed under pressure.
ARCHER BOY (M Carson) drifted in over the concluding stages coming into contact with DANZIG WARRIOR (D Simmons).
BENCHED (M Young) struck the rail of its own accord at about the 500 metres.

GENERAL:
At a continued enquiry into the registration of stablehands trainer D Crouch was given the benefit of the doubt and no further action was taken.
