Race 1: Mackay Chiropractic QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st – DON’T TELL PETE 2nd KAYAN 3rd FAST ANNIE 4th - BOOMTOWN BOY
Trainer D. Symons informed stewards that he had inadvertently engaged Jockey B. El-Issa and Jockey T. Bannon to ride FAST ANNIE. Mr Symons conceded that he had wrongly engaged Jockey Bannon and was required to pay her the usual riding fee.
Kayan - Blundered on jumping and almost dislodged its rider.
Grand Rocket – Was slow to begin.
Silver Bows – Slow to begin.
Fast Annie – Over-raced in the early stages and got its head high in the air. Again leaving the 900 metres over-raced and shifted out across the heels of RED SOLO. At the 300 metres rolled in and made contact with RED SOLO, which raced in restricted room and had to be steadied. Trainer D Symons was advised that the filly must obtain a barrier certificate over at least 800m prior to its next start.
Red Solo - Bumped by another runner at the 300 metres, forced to race in restricted room and had to be steadied.
Race 2: Coalport Cash Store Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st SERGEANT SHRIVER 2nd DEE DOUBLEYOU 3rd IDOL FACTOR 4th - ZAYNA
Spin Again - Was slow to begin.
Mount Morgan – Began awkwardly.
Sergeant Shriver – At the start was bumped by another runner, which shifted in.
Bagger Blues - Began awkwardly and shifted in onto another runner. Near the 900 metres had to steady to avoid the heels of ZAYNA, which shifted in.
Zayna - Shifted in near 900 metres when not quite clear. Rider advised to exercise more care.
Mystic Lad - Rounding the home turn inclined to hang out, then in the home straight raced ungenerously. Raced wide throughout.
Race 3: Blue River Ice Class 2 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st – FLUKES 2nd CLOUD DANCER 3rd MORE THAN A SONG 4th - DON’T THINK DO
French Garrison – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and near the 900 metres had to be steadied off the heels of DON’T THINK DO, which crossed to race closer to the running rail.
Race 4: - Carlton United Breweries Class 6 Plate – 1200 metres
1st DAPH ‘N’ ALF 2nd - SNITZEM 3rd CARMINE KING 4th – WHATANEXCUSE
Whatanexcuse – Was a little slow to begin.
Legal Dancer – Raced wide throughout.
Race 5: Suncrest Food Distributors Maiden Handicap - 1300 metres
1st WINDSOR GOLD 2nd - AZZURAYER 3rd RAPID COMMAND 4th - HAYYLER’S HELL
Richie Rocket - Began awkwardly and shifted in onto another runner. For a short distance near the 1000 metres got its head in the air.
Whichwaybeyou – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
Amazzler – Raced wide throughout.
Azzurayer – Bled from both nostrils during running. Trainer was advised that, as this was the first time the gelding had bled, it will be barred from racing for 3 months, and then only after satisfactorily completing a gallop over at least 1000 metres in the presence of a steward.
Run For Rudy – Raced wide throughout. Took no competitive part in the event and finished at the rear of the field. Trainer D. Lemmon was advised that the gelding must perform to the satisfaction of stewards in a jump-out or trial over at least 800 metres before being permitted to race again and also be restricted to non TAB events until it establishes some form.
Roman Virtue – Trainer Ms L. Boarin was advised that a warning will be placed on the mare, which finished at the rear of the field.
Race 6: AE Smith Air Conditioning BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1800 metres
1st BRACKO MICK 2nd DAMN GOOD IDEA 3rd SIR STANLEY 4th - ARIADNE
Ariadne – Delayed the start when it broke through the barriers. Was restrained, examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Leaving the 200 metres shifted in onto MASSURI (App. K. Aho), which was disappointed for a run and had to be shifted across heels to obtain clear running.
Ima Pearce – Leaving the 200 metres was disappointed for a run and had to shift across heels to obtain clear running. Over the concluding stages shifted out, despite the efforts of its rider, and hampered another runner.
Lodestone - Leaving the 200 metres shifted out marginally. At the same time another runner commenced to hang in, despite the efforts of its rider. At the same stage DAMN GOOD IDEA shifted in and away from BRACKO MICK, which resulted in KING OF THE FOREST clipping the heels of DAMN GOOD IDEA and blundering badly. As stewards could not be satisfied that the attributed solely to any individual rider, no further action was taken.
Bracko Mick - Leaving the 200 metres commenced to hang in badly, despite the efforts of its rider. Trainer J Manzelmann will be advised that a warning be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
Damn Good Idea – Leaving the 200 metres shifted in and away from BRACK MICK, resulting in KING OF THE FOREST clipping the heels of DAMN GOOD IDEA and blundering badly.
King of The Forest – Leaving the 200 metres clipped heels and blundered badly.
Race 7: Barcam Electrical Service Pty Ltd Handicap – 1560 metres
1st DODGE THE GREY 2nd SHOWMETHEMONEY 3rd BEAUTIFUL TIMING 4th - HARD LIQUOR
Showmethemoney - Was slow to begin.
Gold Bender – Held up on the heels of another runner leaving the 300 metres and was shifted out across that horse’s heels to obtain clear running.
Lokelani – Raced wide throughout.
