BORN TO THE MANOR (R. Faehr) jumped in at the start.

RATBAG (Appr. K. Nakata) was slowly into stride.

Stewards sought a comment from Mr John Paterson the Trainer of the race favourite LA CLOISONNE (D. Rewald) regarding the mare’s poor performance during this event. Mr Paterson said the performance was disappointing and stated the extra weight (six kilograms) allocated and that the horse was back in distance today may have resulted in the mare’s performance. Mr Paterson said the Mare had pulled up well after the race and would notify Stewards should any abnormality by found with the horse after today’s event. Jockey D. Rewald the rider of LA CLOISONNE stated the horse failed to go the early speed. Although the mare travelled well after that point. Jockey Rewald added the horse in his opinion was looking for further and the extra weight may have been a contributing factor in her poor performance today.

Race 3: A.F. AND M.F BLAKE MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1000M

The start of this race was delayed due to the rider of ORARCY (R. Faehr) being dislodged at the barrier. ORARCY ran off towards the mounting yard before it was caught by the Clerk of the Course and returned to the barriers. ORARCY was examined by the attending Veterinarian and passed fit to start.

ZYTELLE (Appr. K. Nakata) jumped out soon after the start.

Approaching the 800M point of the event CAPTAIN BERNIE (Appr. Ms G. Steele) rolled in marginally.

Stewards enquired into the incident at approximately the 800m and took statements from the riders believed to be involved. Stewards and riders viewed the patrol film available to them. After doing so, Stewards were of the opinion that although Jockey Brown did receive some pressure from his inside which resulted in him having to shift ground and check his mount. This action resulted in MURPHY NO MORE shifting out further and subsequently caused inconvenience to the rider of FREE GIGGLES (J. Geppert) to check his mount. Stewards however could not be reasonably satisfied that any blame could be attributed to any single rider in relation to this matter and took no further action. All riders were advised to exercise more care in running.

NOT WITHOUT SIN (Appr. B. Newport) jumped in and made contact with TEAM THUNDERSTONE (D. Rewald). As a result TISPURA TONITE (W. Doyle) was tightened for room between TEAM THUNDERSTONE and MOORINGS MAGIC (J. Geppert) further resulting in TISPURA TONITE being forced to check off the heels of MOORINGS MAGIC.

MUTINY (Appr. L. Tilley) jumped out marginally at the start and put pressure on MAXIMUM VISION (D. Brown) which shifted out abruptly and made contact with YOUTHFUL PRINCE (Ms E. Heinemann) who had to check and lost some ground. As a result MAXIMUM VISION made heavy contact with MOORINGS MAGIC.
