WEATHER: FINE TRACK: SLOW/UPGRADED TO DEAD AT 11.15AM
GENERAL
RACING:
RACE 1 CLASS 3 HCP..1000 METRES - (8 STARTERS).

Due to illness T. Williams was unable to fulfil his engagement on AGILE MAUD and was subsequently replaced by D. Simmons.

ZIPOSING jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 700 metres GIBRALTAR REIGNS had to be steadied off the heels of PLUSH LOVER.

Rounding the home turn PLUSH LOVER shifted out and made contact with WAHTING.

GIBRALTAR REIGNS was unable to obtain clear running at any stage of the home straight.

RACE 2 CLASS 5 HCP.1200. METRES - (5 STARTERS)

REGAN was slow to begin.

Leaving the 1000 metres, NOT SO SIMPLE had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by DEEP TRICK which shifted in.

RACE 3 CLASS 1 HCP.1200. METRES - (9 STARTERS)

TILBA ROSE threw it’s head in the air at the start.

BELLORN and GREY COMMANDER made contact at the start.

RACE 4 OPEN HCP 1100 METRES - (7 STARTERS)

PALOOKA jumped away awkwardly.

RACE 5 MAIDEN HCP.1100 METRES - (14 STARTERS)

ACE DARLING and KENFIRE were slow to begin.

G. Evans rider of WHYTOOK, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that approaching the 800 metres he did permit his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear making heavy contact with ANOTHER BARNEY (W. Welburn) which was forced in resulting in ON TERMS (M. Atkinson) having to be checked and FORGING’S LASS (M Stephens) having to be severely checked by it’s rider. G. Evans’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 Capricornia Racing Association meetings commencing at midnight 7th November and expiring at midnight 24th November, 2000. W. Welburn rider of ANOTHER BARNEY was cautioned in relation to the standard of evidence he provided throughout the inquiry into this particular interference.

Leaving the 700 metres, SOMEPORO shifted in and made contact with the running rail whilst racing in restricted room to the inside of FORGING’S LASS.

Approaching the 400 metres KENFIRE shifted out and made contact with ACE DARLING. Inside the final 100 metres KENFIRE shifted out under pressure and made slight contact with FORGING’S LASS. Connections of FORGING’S LASS reported to stewards that the mare had sustained lacerations to the off hind leg throughout the event.

RACE 6 CLASS 4 HCP 1600 METRES - (12 STARTERS)

DARK EYED LADY jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Approaching the 1100 metres, DARK EYED LADY had to be steaied off the heels of EUROPA STAR as a result of this, DANEGOLD, which was following also had to be steadied by its rider in this incident DANEGOLD shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail and as a result became unbalanced and lost ground.

JAAZEIRO was inclined to lay in under pressure and leaving the 200 metres shifted in and bumped MY PROUD MAN.

BOOKMAKERS: 5 bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and the samples collected were forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
