STEWARDS REPORT – SATURDAY 16TH JUNE, 2001
STEWARDS: D. HENSLER (CHAIRMAN), J. BOON, D. DELFORCE, G. MEEK, N. VAGG (CADET), D. MACKLYN (BETTING)
WEATHER: FINE TRACK: GOOD

RACING:
RACE 1 CLASS 1 HCP. 1200 METRES (8 STARTERS): BOO BOO jumped away awkwardly.
MASEDON AFFAIRS was slow to begin.
MASEDON AFFAIRS (D. Johnston) commenced to race fiercely in the early stages and rounding the first turn hung out and hampered FORGING’S LASS(C. Beets).
Approaching the 200 metres MACEDON AFFAIRS shifted ground to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped LEAVITA (J. Taylor) onto MUSTANG RULER (J. Piper).
MACEDON AFFAIRS lost the off fore plate in running.
RACE 2 2YO MAIDEN HCP. 1100 METRES (12 STARTERS) EXCELLENT was slow to begin.
BRAVE PAGO (M. Barnham) jumped away awkwardly and struck the barrier gate which broke the surcingle.
Approaching the 250 metres M. Barnham the rider of BRAVE PAGO had his whip caught up in the broken surcingle and was unable to fully test his mount.
VARPECK (W. Welburn), EXCELLENT (N. Evans) and REEF STALKER (D. Lloyd) at stages raced greenly in the home straight.
RACE 3 CLASS 3 HCP 1100 METRES (13 STARTERS).SONAMAR jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the 450 metre mark GAME DEFECTS (A. Cowie) which was inclined to hang out shifted in when racing ungenerously and momentarily tightened ALPAGO (D. Evans). As a result of this contact GAME DEFECTS then shifted out abruptly causing RUSTIC GEM (P. Wheeler) to strike heels and blunder.
ALPAGO was unable to obtain clear running for some distance inside the 150 metres.
RACE 4 MAIDEN HCP. 1300 METRES (8 STARTERS.BOTTLE NOSE jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the 450 metres BRAQUER LAD (W. Welburn) had to be steadied off the heels of PULLMAN (P. Wheeler) which shifted in after making contact with CHAIN (C. Beets).
RACE 5 CLASS 5 HCP. 1200 METRES (5 STARTERS)..TANDOAKA (W. Welburn) was inclined to hang out rounding the 800 and 400 metre turns.
RACE 6 CLASS 3 HCP 1800 METRES (9 STARTERS)..KORUPSII (D. Evans) and GLOWING PROFIT (D. Lloyd) both jumped away awkwardly.
CHESS PIECE (D. Johnston) and WATSFORD’S GOLD (G. Lynch) made heavy contact passing the winning post on the first occasion.
KORUPSII travelled ungenerously when over racing in the early and middle stages.
RACE 7 CUP OPEN HCP 2000 METRES (13 STARTERS). Approaching the 200 metres PARTY KING (NZ) (D. Johnston) shifted out under pressure and momentarily crowded TOBOLSK (N. Evans) onto REGAL TOUCH (A. Cowie).
RACE 8 OPEN HCP 1000 METRES (14 STARTERS). DARK EYED LADY and JAVA HEART were crowded at the start between OUT OF THE RED and PRINCE JACOB which jumped inwards.
Apprentice D. Evans the rider of JAVA HEART was found guilty of a charge of careless riding AR137a, in that leaving the 250 metres he permitted his mount to shift out from behind the heels of REGAL REGARD (A. Cowie) which resulted in SPACE PRINCE (D. Johnston) having to be checked by its rider. D. Evans licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 Capricornia Racing Association meetings to commence immediately and to expire after the 30/6/01.

BOOKMAKERS: Ten (10) bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and the samples collected were forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
