WEATHER –FINE TRACK – GOOD
RAIL – Short Course – Out 3m from 1300m to 800m. Out 2m from 800m to winning post.
RAIL – Long Course – Out 5m from 800m to 400m. Cutaway at 400m.
GENERAL
J Foster indisposed due to illness.
Replaced by P Hammersley on STORM STRIKE in Race 2.
Replaced by H Watanabe on CHEETAH COUNTY in Race 4.
Replaced by H Watanabe on ATHENE’S STAR in Race 5.
R Barone unavailable due to stable commitments and transport problems.
Replaced by D Rewald on HELLO CHIEF in Race 6.
Due to the death of Trainer of Snow Lindley, Stewards permitted the transfer of LINE MY POCKET to Trainer D Schultz to allow that horse to start.
RACE 1: CLASS 2 HCP – 1400M
Jockey R Mules was delayed due to a vehicle breakdown and was replaced by D Rewald on CHINA CLASSIC.
An inquiry was conducted into an incident at about the 200 metres in which LINE MY POCKET (D Tanti) checked off the heels of PACK OF GOLD (J P Stanley). Stewards found that when struck with the whip PACK OF GOLD shifted ground suddenly. J Stanley took hold and straightened his mount immediately. Stewards took no action.
RACE 2: CLASS 4 HCP – 1000M
LOUISVILLE LIP (S Quick) performed poorly. S Quick stated that the horse travelled well to the home turn but failed to respond when placed under pressure.
RACE 3: CLASS 1 HCP – 1000M
D Johnston was replaced on RERUN by B Appo when unable to make the required weight. D Johnston was fined $100 AR120(b).
Trainer D Powell was fined $25.00 and permitted to amend the stable return for MRS DENVER LR42.
NOD OF APPROVAL (H Watanabe) jumped in on to RERUN (B Appo).
RED GOER (S Quick) jumped out on to MRS DENVER (L Timson).
RACE 4: 3YO MAIDEN HCP – 1100M
Acting on veterinary advice HALLECAN was scratched at 1.50pm after having been kicked whilst on the float.
JOFFA’S APPEAL (P Hammersley) jumped inwards coming in to contact with HOLLY BUSH HONEY (M Barnham). Both horses became unbalanced and lost ground.
HOLLY BUSH HONEY eased off the heels of MR KNOW IT ALL (T Mathieson) at about the 900 metres.
RACE 5: OPEN HCP – 1100M
ATHENE’S STAR (H Watanabe) jumped out coming into contact with LOREMASTER (D Rewald) which in turn was forced out on to the heels of WESTERN BRONZE (G Booth). In the incident LADY LONG LEGS (C Beets) was inconvenienced and lost ground.
LOREMASTER had to be eased off the heels of ATHENE’S STAR at about the 750-metre mark.
RACE 6: MAIDEN HCP – 1300M
Trainer M Crouch fined $50.00 failing to notify rider for FORESTS by the required time LR70.
Trainer T Kenny fined $50.00 failing to notify rider for SNAP ‘N’ WIN by the required time LR70.
Trainer T Kenny fined $25.00 incorrect stable return SNAP ‘N’ WIN LR42.
LADY SPARTAN (D Johnston) jumped inwards coming into contact with LONELY CHARMER (L Timson) causing that horse to lose ground.
At about the 800 metres LADY SPARTAN rolled in causing LONELY CHARMER to be steadied.
During the running of the race LADY SPARTAN bled for the 2nd time.
On the home turn PEPPERINA LANE (D Tanti) shifted out on to the heels of RIVER OF STARS (H Watanabe) and blundered.
RACE 7: SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP – 1300M
CAPANNELLE (P Hammersley) slowly away.
CORD (T Mathieson) shifted out on the home turn causing a minor inconvenience to UPHOLD (H Watanabe).
At about the 600 metres EDGED IN BLACK (D Tanti) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of UPHOLD (H Watanabe) which rolled in marginally.
P Hammersley the rider of CAPANNELLE requested a viewing of the patrol video prior to correct weight being declared.
RACE 8: CLASS 5 HCP – 1200M
M Crouch fined $50.00 failing to declare a rider for GOING FOR GOLD by the required time LR70.
GOING FOR GOLD (D Evans) over raced approached the 800 metres and raced up on to the heels of IT ALL ADDS UP (C Beets).
FOUR (4) BOOKMAKERS FIELDED.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
