SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
Stewards were notified at 4.07pm by betting supervisor Mr S Bryant that the second fluctuation transmitted for Race 6 (KOALA) at 4.03pm of $4.80 was incorrect and was corrected a short time after to its correct odds of $2.50.
Race 1: WIN TELEVISION CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – CINDY KATE 2nd – JEWEL SPEED 3rd – MYDAM TWIST 4th – VAHULLA
LOUISVILLE LIP (G Farrer) which was slow to begin was further hampered by VALHULLA (App D Carrigg) which shifted out slightly causing that runner to be steadied and lose ground.
CINDY KATE began awkwardly.
Approaching the 650m LOUISVILLE LIP (G Farrer) commenced to over race for a short distance and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of VALHULLA (App D Carrigg).
A post race veterinary inspection of CINDY KATE revealed the mare to have a small laceration to the off side of its top gum.
Race 2: KALKA PALMS HOTEL/MOTEL CLASS3 PLATE – 1400M.
1st – OUR JIM BEAU 2nd – STAGE SHAKER 3rd – CRAIGLEA WARRIOR 4th – SHOVE OVER
SHOVE OVER (B Young) was slow to begin.
A post race veterinary inspection of SHOVE OVER revealed the mare to be sore in the off side front fetlock. Trainer C Smith advised stewards that it is his intention to spell the horse after to-days run however Mr Smith was advised he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness prior the horse’s next start.
Race 3: B & J CAR SALES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M.
1st – SESSANTANOVE 2nd – BUSHLEY BEAU 3rd – THUNDER SPRINGS 4th – POSE
The start was delayed when HIGHTONIAN (S Quick) proved difficult to load. A Stephens the trainer of HIGHTONIAN was advised that a warning would be placed on that horses barrier manners.
GAMBLING WILLIE (App C McIver) reared as the gates were released losing ground.
HIGHTONIAN (S Quick) which was slow to muster speed at the start was further hampered when tightened for room by TORREQUEBRADA (A Best) and SONOVABEACH (S Watkin) which both shifted ground.
THUNDER SPRINGS (M Evans) jumped out at the start making contact with POSE (G Booth) which in turn shifted out hampering BUSHLEY BEAU (App L Dillon).
Approaching the 1100m both ALCHRISONTEE (M Usher) and GAMBLING WILLIE (C McIver) commenced to over race for a short distance and shortly after ALCHRISONTEE had to be steadied off the heels of GAMBLING WILLIE which was momentarily crowded and taken in by MISTER CAV (App D Carrigg).
MISTER CAV (App D Carrigg) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 4: PHIL PEEL JEWLLERS CLASS6 H’CAP – 1300M.
1st – CEE JAY TEE 2nd – LORD GLENBURY 3rd – MY TRUE NORTH 4th – MIDNIGHT DESIRE
MIDNIGHT DESIRE (S Watkin) was slow to begin.
POKOMO (N Evans) began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly losing ground.
Leaving the 800m LORD GLENBURY (G Farrer) commenced to over race and shifted out after improving onto the heels of LET’S RECONSIDER (C McIver) and again near the 650m had to be steadied and shift out to avoid that runners heels.
MIDNIGHT DESIRE (S Watkin) became unbalanced near the 450m losing ground.
CEE JAY TEE (M Rice)was held up for clear running from the 300m until near the 100m.
Race 5: CENTRE STATE SIGNS QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M.
1st – ELANET 2nd – PRIVATE ASCOT 3rd – HATANGI 4th – WINONA BRAVE
As Apprentice D Peisley was indisposed he was replaced as the rider of ELANET by Apprentice L Dillon.
The start was delayed when ELANET (App L Dillon) broke through the barriers and was caught after going a short distance; ELANET was inspected by the club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
HATANGI (App D Ballard) jumped out at the start forcing LEPRECHAUN LASS (K Yoshida) wider on the track.
KOKONINA (D Whitmore) jumped in at the start making contact with PLAY THE TOWN (D Carrigg) which was then tightened for room by ELANET (App L Dillon) which shifted in slightly.
Shortly after the start DANZAMONKEY (M Usher) shifted out making heavy contact with PLAY THE TOWN (App D Carrigg) and then shifted in becoming unbalanced and making contact with OUTWITTED (G Booth), as a result DANZAMONKEY attempted to buck and was restrained losing considerable ground. D Vale the trainer of DANZAMONKEY was advised the gelding must pass an official barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.
Leaving the 400m LEPRECHAUN LASS (K Yoshida) had to steadied when inconvenienced by PLAY THE TOWN (App D Carrigg) which was inclined to race greenly.
Approaching the 300m OUTWITTED (G Booth) shifted in abruptly hampering LEED (S Quick)
App D Carrigg the rider of PLAY THE TOWN dropped her whip near the 300m.
ELANET (App L Dillon) hung in over the final 200m proving difficult to ride out.
Trainer T McMahon reported to stewards that a post race inspection of WINONA BRAVE revealed the gelding had got down on its off hind bumper causing superficial skin damage.
Race 6: XXXX OPEN H’CAP – 1100M.
1st – PROMISING JOY 2nd – ROSIELEE MISS 3rd – KOALA 4th – CATERER
Trainer D Durand was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR70 for failing to declare a rider for RECORD TIME by the prescribed time.
CHIEF HARMONEY (App D Carrigg) was slow to begin.
BRO (A Best) raced wide in the early stages of the race.
ROSIELEE MISS (K Yoshida) began awkwardly.
RECORD TIME (D Whitmore) began awkwardly and then raced wide throughout the race.
CHIEF HARMONY (App D Carrigg) which was held up for clear running near the 100m shifted out when not clear of DREAMS OF WEALTH (D Ballard) which had to be steadied and shift out, D Carrigg the rider of CHIEF HARMONY was severely reprimanded and reminded of her obligation to be clear when shifting ground.
Race 7: COUNTRY COMFORT CLASS1 H’CAP – 1100M.
1st – OAKLEIGH 2nd – LITTLE TOFFY 3rd – RUN LIKE BLAZES 4th – REGAL THEATRE
As Apprentice D Peisley was indisposed he was replaced as the rider of CHENKA by Apprentice B Young.
Trainer T Hess was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR70 for failing to declare a rider for REGAL THEATRE by the prescribed time.
ERROL STREET (G Farrer) which was slow into stride at the start was further hampered when tightened for room by EVADING (App C McIver)) and RAINBOW DANCER (N Evans) which both shifted ground.
CHENKA (B Young) and SHOKUR (J Stephens) bumped shortly after the start.
REGAL THEATRE (A Best) was tightened for room shortly after the start by IKEMOTO (S Quick) which was momentarily crowded by FOLLOW MY DREAMS (App L Dillon) which shifted in slightly and was then obliged to race wide throughout the race.
Near the 1000m RUN LIKE BLAZES (App D Ballard) and CHENKA (App B Young) made contact when both horses shifted ground causing RUN LIKE BLAZES to become unbalanced and then over race for a short distance.
SHOKUR (J Stephens) raced in restricted room in the middle stages to the inside of RUN LIKE BLAZES (D Ballard).
OAKLEIGH (App D Carrigg) shifted out near the 200m to obtain clear running inconveniencing RUN LIKE BLAZES (D Ballard). D Carrigg the rider of OAKLEIGH was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Shortly after leaving the 200m RAINBOW DANCER (N Evans) which was held up for clear running shifted in and then shifted out brushing ERROL STREET (G Farrer).
