SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

As G Farrer was unable to fulfil his riding obligations due to transport problems he was replaced in races 1, 3, and 7 as per steward’s summary sheet.

Stewards were alerted at 1.43pm by bookmakers supervisor Mr S Bryant that the opening quote for AT ODDS which was in race 1 on today’s program was displayed incorrectly at $2.10 and was simultaneously corrected to its right quote of $21.00.

Race 1: XXXX GOLD MAIDEN H’CAP – 1300M.
1st – MAUSOLEUM 2nd – FLOYD PEPER 3rd – MAJOR ADIR 4th – BUSHLEY BEAU

Both MAUSOLEUM (D Evans) and BUSHLEY BEAU (App C McIver) were slow to begin.

BRIDGEWATER MILL (App D Carrigg) began awkwardly.

KAAPTAN (App D Ballard) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

BUCHANAN BOY (S Quick) raced wide for a majority of the race.

MAUSOLEUM (D Evans) commenced to over race near the 800m and improved onto the heels FLOYD PEPPER (M Dale) having to be steadied, BUSHLEY BEAU (App C McIver) which was following had to be steadied as a result.

BALLATOR (App A Coome) shifted out wider on the track leaving the 500m to obtain clear running.
Race 2: TOOHEYS EXTRA DRY CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1200M.
1st – NOW MING 2nd – MY TRUE NORTH 3rd – CANADIAN BAY 4th – HEARD A WHISPER

CANADIAN BAY (N Evans) was slow to begin.

NOW MING (App T Bannon) reared as the start was affected losing ground.

HEARD A WHISPER (App D Carrigg) commenced to over race leaving the 800m for a short distance.

Leaving the 500m the saddle of SCANDAL PARK (App C McIver) slipped back placing its rider at a distinct disadvantage forcing the horse to be restrained out of the race near the 300m.

Race 3: XXXX LITE BITTER CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M.
1st – RAINBOW DANCER 2nd – RUN LIKE BLAZES 3rd – AKERS 4th – HONEY QUEEN

BLIND MAN’S BLUFF was declared a late scratching at 2.20pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. At a subsequent inquiry P O’Leary, stable representative for trainer N Peterson was advised under LR36(b) the horse must pass a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next start.

MISS SANTANA (App C McIver) which became fractious in the barriers prior to the start lunged forward forcing the front gates open taking no apparent harm.

HONEY QUEEN (M Usher) began awkwardly losing ground.

Both INTUITIVE LAD (S Shield) and ACKERS (S Watkin) were slow to begin.

REGAL THEATRE (App T Bannon) raced wide throughout the race.

Race 4: HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – ELANET 2nd – PRIVATE ASCOT 3rd – DECEIVING 4th – LILY OF THE WEST

INFRINGEMENT (D Evans) began awkwardly.

NETORI (W Whitmore) raced wide throughout the race.

ELANET (App D Peisley) began awkwardly and was obliged to race wide through out the race.

At approximately the 950m DASHING CHARIOT (App T Bannon) was inconvenienced when tightened for room between PLAY THE TOWN (App D Ballard) which shifted out slightly and DECEIVING (S Quick) which shifted in. S Quick the rider of DECEIVING was severely reprimanded and advised show more care when shifting ground.

Apprentice C McIver the rider of PRIVATE ASCOT was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 600m he directed his mount in when not clear of RUBIES AND GOLD (N Evans) which had to be checked and as a result shifted out bumping DECEIVING (S Quick), PLAY THE TOWN (App D Ballard) which was following was then placed in restricted room on the heels of RUBIES AND GOLD and clipped the heels of that horse, blundering and dislodging its rider Apprentice D Ballard. Apprentice C McIver licence to ride in races was suspended for 1 month to take affect from midnight Saturday 18/02/2006 up to and including midnight Saturday 18/03/2006.
Race 5: XXXX OPEN H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – KING HUNTER 2nd – PROMISING JOY 3rd – BIKINI BOTTOM 4th – JOE DIRT

KID CHARLEMAGNE (S Watkin) jumped in at the start bumping BIKINI BOTTOM (D Lloyd) which in turn shifted in brushing KOALA (App C McIver).

App D Peisley was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that shortly after the start he allowed his mount PROMISING JOY to shift in when not clear of
KING HUNTER (D Evans) which inturn was taken in onto JOE DIRT (N Evans) which had to be checked and lose its position. D Peisley’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 South East Queensland meetings to commence at midnight on Sunday 19/02/2006 up to and including Sunday the 05/03/2006.

Leaving the 900m KOUNELI (D Whitmore) shifted in and away from BIKINI BOTTOM (D Lloyd) bumping PROMISING JOY (App D Peisley).

At approximately the 800m PROMISING JOY (App D Peisley) raced in restricted room for a short distance when tightened for room by KOUNELI (D Whitmore) which had a tendency to lay in after being momentarily crowded for room by BIKINI BOTTOM (D Lloyd) which shifted in. D Lloyd the rider of BIKINI BOTTOM was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Race 6: HEINEKEN CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1400M.
1st – OUR JIM BEAU 2nd – LINK HOGTHROB 3rd – RED BAY 4th – DANATINA

Apprentice D Ballard was examined by the clubs medical officers and cleared to fulfil the remainder of his riding engagements.

OUR JIM BEAU (App D Carrigg) lunged forward in the barriers prior to start being affected forcing the front gates open taking no apparent harm.

LINK HOGTHROB (D Lloyd) jumped in at the start bumping CEE JAY TEE (App D Peisley).

NEDEYEV (D Whitmore) hesitated at the start losing ground.

OUR JIM BEAU (App D Carrigg), DINI WHO (M Usher) and STEAL A MARCH (N Evans) which all began awkwardly were tightened for room shortly after the start by RED BAY (App D Ballard) which shifted out slightly and DANATINA (S Shield) which shifted in slightly.

Near the 1100m LINK HOGTHROB (M Usher) was inclined to over race and threw its head in the air for a short distance.

Race 7: QRSE HAHN PREMIUM CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1400M.
1st – INALA SISTERINA 2nd – INSPECTION 3rd – STAGE SHAKER 4th – GOLLY GOLD

Both INALA SISTERINA (App C McIver) and TOPLAYER (App D Peisley) were slow to begin.

After being fractious in the barriers and slow to begin PRINGLE’S GIRL (M Usher) was further hampered by GEE GEE MACGREGOR (S Quick) which jumped in at the start.

Near the 1100m PRINGLE’S GIRL shifted in making heavy contact with the inside running rail becoming unbalanced and as a result STAGE SHAKER (D Johnston) which was following had to checked and shifted out abruptly.

D Crouch the trainer of TOPLAYER reported to stewards that after arriving back at his stables he found the horse to be lame in its near fore leg. D Crouch was advised he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness prior the geldings next start.
