RE: Yeppoon Turf Club – 01/04/2006
Trainer A Jones was fined the sum of $50.00 under AR140B
for presenting SHIFTING SANDS, Race 3, with the incorrect gear.
As jockey S Shield was indisposed he was replaced, as per steward’s summery sheet.
Race 1: B & J CAR SALES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1500M.
1st – BASHA FARLEAGA 2nd – REGAL HENRY 3rd – SUNSHINE TYCOON 4th – ALCHRISONTEE
Trainer A Jones was fined the sum of $50.00 under AR140B for presenting SUNSHINE TYCOON to the enclosure with the incorrect gear.
As Apprentice L Dillon failed to arrive on course by the prescribed time he was replaced as the rider of MATRACTION by Apprentice C Pay.
At a further inquiry apprentice L Dillon was fined the sum of $100.00 under AR85B.
Both REGAL HENRY (A Pattillo) and BUSHLEY BEAU (D Lloyd) were slow to begin.
FLEUR DE PARIS (M Usher) began awkwardly losing ground.
BASHA FARLEAGA (D Evans) jumped out at the start.
BUSHLEY BEAU (D Lloyd) which raced wide in the early stages, commenced to overrace approaching the 1000m and had to be steadied and shift out to avoid the heels of BASHA FARLEAGA (D Evans) and was then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the race.
TOONAK (G Booth) became unbalanced and lost ground near the 1000m.
Race 2: XXXX OPEN H’CAP – 1600M.
1st – DEBONAIR 2nd – DINI WHO 3rd – PILLIGA 4th – OUR JIM BEAU
N Evans, the rider of COMPETE, who was dislodged shortly after the start lodged an objection to whether he was afforded a fair start, after hearing all of the evidence and viewing of the official race footage, it was established that after being fractious in the barriers, COMPETE (N Evans), reared as the start was effected causing its rider to become unbalanced and being dislodged. Stewards declared COMPETE, a starter and correct weight was posted.
Both DEBONAIR (D Lloyd) and LEGAL BRIEF (App C Pay) were slow to begin.
NEDEYEV (App C McIver) began awkwardly losing ground.
DEBONAIR (D Lloyd) was inconvenienced near the 1000m by the riderless horse COMPETE.
DINI WHO (S Watkin) shifted out near the 500m taking NEDEYV (App C McIver) out onto PILLIGA (M Usher) which inturn shifted out hampering LEGAL BRIEF (App C Pay). S Watkin the rider of DINI WHO was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
DEBONAIR (D Lloyd) was held up for clear running leaving the 500m and near the 400m was hampered by the riderless horse COMPETE, shortly after DEBONAIR shifted out crowding CONSPIRACEY (App L Dillon) which shifted out brushing DINI WHO (S Watkin) which had a tendency to lay in under pressure.
DINI WHO (S Watkin) lay out under pressure over the concluding stages taking PILLIGA (M Usher) wider on the track.
FILZAO (G Booth) which raced disappointingly was inspected by the clubs veterinary surgeon who reported no abnormalities.
Race 3: KALKA PALMS HOTEL/MOTEL CLASS 1 PLATE – 1200M.
1st – STARTEGIC MADNESS 2nd – SUPADIVA 3rd – PAMELA JEAN 4th – SACRED HARMONY
VODNAR (L McCoy) shifted out near the 300m bumping MISS SANTANA (L Timson) and again near the 200m.
HEARPSIE’S POPPET (N Evans) raced wide for a majority of the race.
MISS SANTANA (L Timson) raced wide throughout the race.
HEARPSIE’S POPPET which was tailed off was inspected the clubs veterinary surgeon who reported no abnormalities.
Race 4: PETER BOODLE’S MEATS CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1300M.
1st – OUR QUICK TESS 2nd – EQUITANT 3rd – ONE ALONE 4th – SYDNEY JACK
TARA’S SONG (App D Carrigg) was slow to begin.
DELQUILO (S Quick) began awkwardly.
EQUITANT (App L Dillon) which began awkwardly, shifted out shortly after the start inconveniencing DICTATE PLAY (D Evans) which had to be steadied and lose ground.
MERMAID’S WISH (S Watkin) which was slow to begin was further hampered when tightened for room between HIGH KWILA (N Evans) and POOCHA (G Farrer) which both shifted ground.
DICTATE PLAY (D Evans) shifted in near the 1100m crowding TARA’S SONG which was momentarily steadied, D Evans the rider of DICTATE PLAY was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
PERDEE (App C Pay) commenced to overrace approaching the 900m until near the 700m.
When attempting a narrow run approaching the 100m, DICTATE PLAY (D Evans) was tightened for room by ONE ALONE (D Lloyd) which shifted in slightly under pressure, as a result of this DICTATE PLAY shifted in making contact with POOCHA (G Farrer) which became unbalanced.
MERMAID’S WISH (S Watkin) which was tiring, became unbalanced and shifted out near the 100m, CORRIENTE (App C McIver) which was improving, had a tendency to lay in under pressure and as a result shifted in slightly clipping the heels of MERMAID’S WISH and blundering.
EUITANT (App L Dillon) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
OUR QUICK TESS (A Pattillo) had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
Both SYDNEY JACK (C Beets) and MERMAIDS WISH (S Watkin) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 5: MCDONALD’S FAMILY RESTRAURANT CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – DANWANA 2nd – TWO TO CLANGO 3rd – FLEET THE BONGO 4th – RADAR ALERT
HARD WOOD FOREST (M Usher) jumped in the air at the start losing ground, BUBBLES AND BREW (App D Carrigg) which was fractious in the barrier, began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly causing HARD WOOD FOREST to clip that horse’s heels and blunder, dislodging its rider. M Usher was attended to by the clubs ambulance officers and was transported to the Rockhampton Base Hospital.
At a further inquiry, trainer T Cook was advised BUBBLES AND BREW must compete in two official barrier trials to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to start again.
FOLLOW MY DREAM (S Watkin) began awkwardly losing ground.
FLEET THE BONGO (App C McIver) jumped in at the start bumping MORNING GLORY (S Quick).
FOLLOW MY DREAM (S Watkin) commenced to overrace near the 750m for a short distance.
BUBBLES AND BREW (App D Carrigg) was inconvenienced by the riderless HARD WOOD FOREST near the 600m and taken wider on the track.
Leaving the 400m TWO TO CLANGO (W Kenning) shifted out to obtain clear running making contact with BREAKFAST TALK (A Pattillo), and then momentarily raced in restricted room when crowded for room by MORNING GLORY (S Quick) which shifted out. S Quick the rider of MORNING GLORY was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
Approaching the 200m HAYIL LEE BEE (L McCoy), which was tiring, shifted out abruptly inconveniencing FOLLOW MY DREAM (S Watkin) which had to be steadied and shift out. L McCoy the rider of HAYIL LEE BEE was reprimanded and advised to keep her mounts straight in similar circumstances.
MORNING GLORY (S Quick) which was tiring, shifted out under pressure near the 50m, inconveniencing FOLLOW MY DREAM (S Watkin) which had to be checked. S Quick, the rider of MORNING GLORY was severely reprimanded and reminded of her obligation to keep her mounts straight.
A Chardon, the trainer of KENYA KEEPA SECRET, advised stewards the gelding had received minor lacerations to its near hind leg.
Race 6: CENTRE STATE SIGNS CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – HELLENIC WARRIOR 2nd – YO KIDOKI 3rd – BRIEF ENCOUNTER 4th – MAGIC SCORE
The start was delayed several minutes due the ambulance attending an earlier incident.
The start was further delayed when; BELLO GINO (A Pattillo), FLEET STREET (J Stephens) and BONDS GIRL (G Farrer) were all declared late scratchings at 4.45pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on BELLO GINO, FLEET STREET and BONDS GIRL were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 16 cents in the dollar on the face value of all win bets and 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable.
It was established that BELLO GINO, became fractious in the barriers, as a result, BONDS GIRL which was positioned next to BELLO GINO, become fractious and became cast in the barriers, FLEET STREET which was positioned next to BONDS GIRL, also became fractious.
A Buckton, the trainer of BELLO GINO was advised he must obtain a further barrier certificate for BELLO GINO before the horse would be permitted to start again.
After being slow to begin RORY’S NORTH (App C Pay) raced wide throughout the race.
Near the 700m, WALK THE LINE (M Cant) had to be steadied and lose its position when tightened for room between SCARLET SARI (D Evans), which lay out, and MAGIC SOIREE (N Evans) which shifted in. N Evans, the rider of MAGIC SOIREE was reprimanded and advised to be clear when shifting ground.
Race 7: SEVEN ROCKHAMPTON SPECIAL CONDITIONS H’CAP – 1000M.
1st – CINDY KATE 2nd – NIP OF COGNAC 3rd – MOT D’OR 4th – ENZEEL
The starting time of race 7 was amended to 5.20pm due to earlier complications.
KAPITZA was declared a late scratching at 1.12pm by order of stewards acting on vet’s advice.
Both STRATEGIC STAR (G Booth) and KOUNELI (S Quick) were slow to begin.
ENZEEL (G Farrer) which began awkwardly, shifted in soon after the start having to be steadied off the heels of DON SEQUALO (W Kenning).
CINDY KATE (A Pattillo) was crowded for room from the 900m until near the 750m by KOUNELI (S Quick) which lay in despite the efforts of its rider, as a result CINDY KATE was steadied leaving the 750m, TEMPLE JACK (App C McIver) which was following had to be steadied momentarily.
DON SEQUALO (W Kenning) shifted in near the 500m bumping KOUNELI (S Quick).
ENZEEL (G Farrer) raced wide in the middle stages.
MOT D’MOR (D Lloyd) shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
