SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT, ROCKHAMPTON THURSDAY, 13TH OCTOBER 2011:
Race 4: Hylands Sportswear QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap:
Jockey S. Sheargold was fined $100 under A.R. 120(b) for being overweight and unable to fulfil his engagement for MORE KATHIE.
Race 1: XXXX Gold Class 2 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st GEMMARS GIRL 2nd LAYLA 3rd KISS THE GROOM 4th - GOLD ADVANCE
The start of the race was delayed approximately 15 minutes when the ambulance officers were required to attend to an on-course patron.
On jumping, GEMMARS GIRL (App. C. Pye) and NEDERBURG (M. Cant) bumped.
Shortly after the start CALAREBEN (I. Coombes), LAYLA (L. Dillon) and MERRY MISS (M. Usher) were tightened for room between GOLD ADVANCE (D. Philpot), which shifted out when Jockey Philpot's whip became entangled in the breast plate, and KISS THE GROOM (App. K. Cross) which shifted in.
Near the 600 metres LAYLA (L. Dillon) shifted out and bumped MERRY MISS (M. Usher), which was taken out onto the hindquarters of GEMMARS GIRL(App. C. Pye), which in turn shift in and in doing so hampered MERRY MISS and LAYLA.
Near the 400 metres, KISS THE GROOM and GIVE IM ZA bumped.
Approaching the 300 metres, MERRY MISS was momentarily held up for clear running.
NEDERBURG and GIVE IM ZA raced wide throughout.
Race 2: Stockland Rockhampton F&M Maiden Plate - 1050 metres
1st GLENDALE MAGIC 2nd PHOEBE FOR ME 3rd BEEBEE’S LAST 4th - BINGO BETTY
Delay to the start of this race, when the surcingle was re-adjusted on PHOEBE FOR ME.
At the start JUNGLE WOMAN (L. Dillon) stood flat-footed and lost ground.
BLACK GAZELLE (I. Coombes) was fractious in the barrier prior to the start.
BEEBEE'S LAST (T. O'Hara), which had been fractious in the barriers prior to the start, began a little awkwardly.
BLACK GAZELLE began awkwardly and shifted out.
GLENDALE MAGIC (M. Usher) was a little slow to begin.
Near the 700 metres EDGEROI DIXIE (D. Whitmore), which was racing ungenerously, improved onto the heels of TEANNA LASS (S. Sheargold), and had to be steadied. TWO TAIMZ TWICE (D. Philpot), which was following, was steadied when it improved onto the heels of EDGEROI DIXIE.
From near 200 metres GLENDALE MAGIC shifted ground under pressure.
PHOEBE FOR ME (App. K. Cross), BINGO BETTY (App. C. Pye) and BEEBEE'S LAST (T. O'Hara) raced wide throughout.
Following the race Jockey M. Cant reported that COTE DU RHONE commenced to hang out from near the 900 metres and in his opinion may have been sore in its near foreleg. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore. Trainer D. Wright will be advised that a veterinary certificate will be required prior to its next race start.

1st ALANDY LAD 2nd TRIBULATION 3rd STANSAVANNA 4th - DOUBLE YOUR BAG
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer L. Jamieson for the late declaration of Jockey T. O'Hara as the rider of ALANDY LAD, and by trainer A. Jenkinson for the late declaration of Jockey S. Sheargold as the rider of STANSAVANNA.
MR ROCKO (M. Cant) proved difficult to load into the barriers
MR. ROCKO, STANSAVANNA (S. Sheargold) and ROBERT'S GIFT (App. K. Cross) were slow to begin.
Near the 900 metres, MR ROCKO commenced to race ungenerously.
Near the 700 metres Jockey M. Cant was dislodged from MR ROCKO. Jockey Cant was examined by the ambulance officers and then transported to hospital for further observation. Stewards will inquire into the reason for the incident.
RIDGEE DIDGEE (L. Dillon) and DOUBLE YOUR BAG (D. Philpot) raced wide throughout.
On returning to scale it was noted that ALANDY LAD (T. O'Hara) had a small laceration to the near hind heel.
Following the race meeting Apprentice K. Cross reported to the stewards that she had sustained an injury to her left foot in this race.
Race 4: PFD Food Services Class 3 Handicap - 1833 metres
1st DONOSTIA 2nd JESTAROSSA 3rd SIR VAN TEES 4th - NAIL 'EM
The explanations tendered by Trainer S. Kendrick for the late declaration of App. A. Taylor as the rider of JESTAROSSA and by trainer Trainer D. Schultz for the late declaration of Jockey M. Usher as the rider of TARANTARA were accepted.
When Jockey M. Cant was unavailable due to injury, and no other suitable rider was available, stewards permitted Jockey L. Dillon to be substituted as the rider of STAR OF KINTYRE and to ride the gelding half a kilogram overweight.
SIR VAN TEES (T. O’Hara) began awkwardly and lay out shortly after the start, and hampered MR MAGORIUM (I. Coombes)
TARANTARA (M. Usher), which had been fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.
NAIL’ EM (App C Pye) race wide in the early stages of the race.
DESPERATE WOMAN (D Philpot) raced wide throughout the event.
Race 5: Bacardi Together Class 5 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st DUBAIONE 2nd BEEBEESDUEL 3rd SPRINGBOK LAD 4th - PYPER’S IMAGE
The start of this race was rescheduled to 4.05 p.m.
BOSE (T. O'Hara) was declared a late scratching, at 3.40 p.m., by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice as the gelding has struck its head while being transported to the course and blood was present in one nostril..
BEEBEESDUEL (D. Philpot) was difficult to load into the barriers.
In the early and middle stages SPRINGBOK LAD (App. C. Pye) raced fiercely.
Race 6: PFD Festive Rewards Class 1 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st CZARWHO 2nd MALEATON 3rd MARAUDING HILL 4th - PLAZSNI
INALA ROYALE was a late scratching, at 7.55 a.m. and TRY ANOTHER DORE at 8.10am when no rider was available.
When Jockey M. Cant became indisposed and no other rider was available, Stewards declared JAMDIT a late scratching at 3.50 p.m. No betting deductions were applicable.
The start of this race was rescheduled for 4.45 p.m.
REMARKABLE (T. O'hara) was slow to begin. MARAUDING HILL (App. C. Pye) was a little slow to begin.
In the early and middle stages ROYAL SON (M. Usher) over-raced.
Near the 600 metres BRAVE THE BOSS (I. Coombes) shifted out and as a result CZARWHO (L. Dillon), which was following, shifted out and caused ROYAL SON (M. Usher) to be taken wider and become unbalanced momentarily.
Approaching the 400 metres, MALEATON (S. Sheargold) shifted in and caused PLAZSNI (D. Philpot) raced in restricted room for some distance. Near the 300 metres PLAZSNI was steadied and shifted out to obtain clear running.
Near the 200 metres, PLAZSNI shifted out further and caused ROYAL SON (M. Usher) to be steadied.
REMARKABLE (T. O'Hara) raced wide throughout.
