General

As Apprentice M McGillivray was ill, rider replacements were made as per the Steward’s summary. Apprentice McGillivray was advised a medical certificate would be required prior to his next riding engagements.

Race 1: BM 70 Handicap- 1400 metres

Bloomsday- Began awkwardly.

Not So Sober- Began awkwardly.

Perfect Knowledge- Over-raced in the early and middle stages

Race 2: Maiden Handicap- 970 metres

When no apprentice was available, Stewards permitted M Barnham to ride TRUE DIAMONDS.

ESPRIT LIGHT- Shortly after the start, lay in onto heels of another runner, when corrected shifted out.

DOCTOR BURGER- Shortly after the start, made contact with another runner and was placed in restricted room between runners and was steadied.

TRUE DIAMONDS- Hung out from the 700 metres. Post-race veterinary inspection revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg. A veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to its next race start. Additionally, the mare would be required to barrier trial. Trainer B Dixon reported the mare would now be retired.

VICIOUS CHICK- Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Class 1 Handicap – 1050 metres

This race was run in heavy rain.

When no apprentice was available, Stewards permitted D Evans to ride Mystic Lad.

When Jockey L Dillon advised Stewards prior to Race 2 that he would be overweight, he was subsequently replaced by M. Abe. Stewards gave permission for Jockey Abe to ride 1 1/2kg overweight. Jockey Dillon was fined $200 (AR 120(b))

Idol Factor- Declared a late scratching at 1.00pm when found to be lame. Trainer A Jones was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to its next start.

Shandien- Slow to begin.

Rosella Eagle- Raced wide until near the 600 metres.

Waffle- Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: BM 60 Handicap - 1300 metres

When Jockey D Simmons advised Stewards prior to Race 1 he was to be overweight, he was replaced by Jockey T O’Hara. Jockey Simmons was reprimanded. Stewards were mindful of his good record in regard to weight related matters..

Default- A pre-race veterinary inspection of the gelding, which was resuming after a significant spell, did not reveal any abnormalities and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly.

Platinum Peaks- Stood in barriers and refused to jump. Trainer M Hassam was advised the mare would be required to obtain a barrier certificate prior to its next race start.

Dame Judarius- Lay in during the middle stages.
