Connections of ZED STREET were advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.

Connections of BURMAK, which hung out throughout and as a result failed to run on, were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding.

RACE 3: MOUNTS MACHINERY & MISCAMBLE BROS HARDWARE & RURAL SUPPLIES CLASS B H’CAP 1200M
1st – Dane Display 2nd – Ben Buckler 3rd – Chief Inspector 4th – Veils Double

VEILS DOUBLE and KOOSKOOSKI were both slow to begin.

R Kerwin, the rider of GLASS SHOES, was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift out under pressure near the 100m resulting in VEILS DOUBLE and CHIEF INSPECTOR both being hampered.

When questioned regarding the performance of CRAIGLEA MAIDEN, Jockey G Geran stated that the filly had not felt comfortable in, what was in his opinion, the heavier going on the inside and after receiving tightening near the 800m from WILLY’S PRIDE, which shifted in, failed to run on. He further stated that being top weight in the event may also have hindered the filly’s chances in the event. A post race vet examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

1st – Navarra Catch 2nd – Maudie Kate 3rd – Love and Gold 4th – Total Harmony

1st – Big Bedourie 2nd – Moroccan Boy 3rd – Dabblin Lane 4th – Savannah Road

PANKKI and PERCHERON were both slow to begin.

PARADISE DANCER was obliged to shift out near the 200m to avoid the heels of the tiring JUST DIFFERENT.

Connection of CRAIGLEA BOB reported that the gelding bled from one nostril after returning to the tie-up stalls. Stewards advised the connections that the gelding must gallop 1000m to the satisfaction of stewards prior to next start.

RACE 8: BLACK TOYOTA FLYING H’CAP 1000M
1st – Dynamic Dancing 2nd – Yubi 3rd – Al Kafra 4th – Partridge

DEFEND, which injured itself en-route to the course was inspected by the club vet and was declared a late scratching by stewards at 2:15pm.

Prior to correct weight a protest was lodged by S Apthorpe, the rider of the fourth placegetter AL KAFRA, against the third placegetter PARTRIDGE, alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from both riders and viewing the patrol film stewards upheld the objection on the grounds that the interference suffered by AL KAFRA was sufficient to reverse the short neck margin and correct weight was given on the amended placings.

CRAIGLEA MISS blundered on jumping.

DANE AGAIN jumped away very awkwardly losing considerable ground.

An inquiry will be opened into the reasons for CRAIGLEA MISS and GUNNISON ISLAND both losing ground approaching the 600m.

ALKAFRA was held up for clear running leaving the 300m.

S Apthorpe, the rider of AL KAFRA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that approaching the 200m he directed his mount out when insufficiently clear of WINNUNGA resulting in that horse being tightened for room and having to be checked. S Apthorpe’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings to commence midnight 18/11/06 up to and including 29/11/06.

S Bogenhuber, the rider of PARTRIDGE, pleaded guilty to charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift out under pressure when insufficiently clear of AL KAFRA, near the 100m, resulting in that horse being tightened for room and having to be checked off the heels of YUBI.
