Race 1: L.J. Hooker Chancellor Park Maiden H'cap - 1800m.
1st - Royalty Miss 2nd - Yickadee 3rd - Ginny Sweep 4th - Semi Wells

M. Cahill was unable to fulfil his engagement on TENABLE due to traffic delays. M. Smith-Lester was substituted as the rider of that gelding. Stewards accepted M. Cahill's explanation.

As B. Johnson was to be overweight, J. Hoopert was substituted as the rider of PENDINE. B. Johnson was fined the sum of $100.

YICKADEE (A. Russo) was slow to begin.

TENABLE (M. Smith-Lester), which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly.

PRINCE FLAMENCO (L. Deguara) also jumped away awkwardly.

GINNY SWEEP (B. El-Issa) jumped awkwardly and shifted in, making contact with ROYALTY MISS. As a result of this, GINNY SWEEP became unbalanced for several strides.

Approaching the 1500m., ROYALTY MISS (G. Baker) commenced to overrace and got its head up for several strides.

Nearing the 900m., EXTINGUISHER (K. Pope) travelled 3 wide until the home turn.

PRINCE FLAMENCO (L. Deguara) was forced to race 3 wide from the 1500m. to the 800m..

BLACK RAVEN (A. Pattillo) was held up for clear running approaching the 300m..

Nearing the 200m., GINNY SWEEP was held up for clear running before switching to the inside to obtain clear running.

On return to scale, B. El-Issa reported to stewards that GINNY SWEEP had jumped awkwardly and struck its head on the side of the stall, and consequently the horse returned to the enclosure with blood in one nostril.

A swab sample was taken from 3rd placegetter, GINNY SWEEP


Race 2: Battery World 2yo Miaden H'cap - 1000m.
1st - La Montagna 2nd - No Mistake 3rd - MIghty Victory 4th - Strikemeroan

Due to misunderstanding, J. Hoopert was notified as the rider of AWESOME STORM and DED'S DODGE. B. Hull was substituted as the rider of DEED'S DODGE.

Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was advised that a warning was being placed on CARDIOLOGIST, which proved difficult to load.

REZONE (K. Pope) jumped awkwardly.

DEED'S DODGE (B. Hull) began awkwardly and a short distance later shifted in and had to be steadied off the heels of NO MISTAKE (J. Sharp).

Shortly after the start, LA MONTAGNA (M. Cahill) shifted in and brushed AWESOME STORM (J. Hoopert).

After leaving the 700m., REZONE, when improving, had to be eased off the heels of CRAIGLEA TINSEL (K. Cunningham).

Approaching the 200m., IN SAN DIEGO (B. El-Elissa) shifted in and brushed FLINDERS LANE (C. Kearney), which was tiring.


Race 3: L.J. Hooker Commercial 3yo & Up Maiden Plate - 1300m.
1st - Aman's Gotta Do 2nd - Airanburn 3rd - In The Ring 4th - Papunya

AIRANBURN (C. Kearney) began awkwardly.

BATTLE LOVER (C. Whiteley) was slow to begin, then shifted in and had to be eased off the heels of AMAN'S GOTTA DO (M. Morris).

Approaching the 900m., IN THE RING (K. Pope) commenced to overrace and had to be eased from the heels of AMAN'S GOTTA DO. IN THE RING then continued to overrace until the 500m..

FIRST TICKET (M.Cahill) was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

IN THE RING was held up for clear running at the 400m..

AIRANBURN hung in over the final 50m. of the event.

A post-race veterinary examination of HIDE 'N' WATCH failed to reveal any abnormality, however following race 7, trainer R. Jantz advised stewards that the gelding appeared to be slightly sore in the off fore leg. Mr Jantz was advised that he would be required to produce a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to the horse's next race start.


Race 4: ABM Panasonic Class 1 H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Lavinia Mary 2nd - Breakfast Talk 3rd - Shock Trooper 4th - For Certain

As B. Thomson was ill, C. Whitely was substituted as the rider of FOR CERTAIN.

M. Palmer, rider of LAVINIA MARY, was dislodged from that mare after leaving the enclosure. M. Palmer was examined by the club's doctor and cleared to fulfil his engagement.

FORCE OF LOVE (M. Bennett) jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, making contact wtih A SINGLE BOUND (G. Farrer).

FIRST ECLIPSE (M. Rice) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly, making heavy contract with SHOCK TROOPER (N. Seymour), which was taken out across the heels of FOR CERTAIN (C. Whiteley), which shifted in.

Approaching the 600m., FORCE OF LOVE (M. Bennett) commenced to overrace and became awkward for a few strides.

FORCE OF LOVE (M. Bennett) was held up for clear running between SPLENDID SAILS (K. Pope) and MEMPHIS EXPRESS (R. McMahon) from the 300m. until the 200m., and then approaching the 150m. had to be eased off the heels of SPLENDID SAILS when SPLENDID SAILS shifted in under pressure. K. Pope was reminded of his obligations to stop riding and straighten his mounts when they begin to shift.

BREAKFAST TALK (R. Plumb) returned to the enclosure having lost its off hind plate.


Race 5: The Blue Olive Open H'cap - 1600m.
1st - Teldawn 2nd - Clanger 3rd - King Latarmiss 4th - Zedsquare

CRIMSON GOWN (A. Best) reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Following the race, A. Best made application to the stewarsd to have CRIMSON GOWN declared a non runner due to being denied a fair start. After viewing video footage of the start, and interviewing starter R. Huxham, stewards declared CRIMSON GOWN a starter and correct weight was semaphored. Trainer H. Norman was advised that a warning was being placed on CRIMSON GOWN regarding its barrier manners.

ZEDSQUARE (R. Pittman) and TELDAWN (K. Pope) were obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.


Race 6: QRSE Swanston & Associates Lawyers Class 2 H'cap - 1800m.
1st - Pentathon 2nd - Marlene Gaye 3rd - Telemont 4th - Lopper

P. Hammersley was examined by the club's doctor after riding in race 4 and stood down from his remaining engagements. B. El-Issa was substituted as the rider of ATTEMOI and REAR ADMIRAL (Race 7) and M. Cant was the rider of MAIZ XON in race 8.

PENTATHON (N. Jolly) and NOTHIN LEICA DREAM (M. Cahill) were slow to begin.

PENTATHON was caught wide from the start until the 1000m..

Approaching the 800m., CRAIGLEA WARRIOR (M. Rice) commenced to overrace and got its head up and raced ungenerously for approximately 100 metres.

ENCOSTA ROCKET (L. Fyfe) and HIGHLAND STORM (C. Whiteley) were obliged to race wide in the middle stages.

Approaching the 200m., ATTEMOI (B. El-Issa) and DUMPY DAN (D. Ballard) brushed.

Over the concluding stages, PENTATHON shifted ground abruptly under pressure. N. Jolly, rider of PENTATHON, was advised of his obligations to stop riding and straighten his mounts once they begin to shift ground.


Race 7: L.. Hooker Kawana Waters Class 4 H'cap - 1400m.
1st - Thorpe 2nd - Ebony 3rd - House Of Woodwind 4th - Saucer Of Milk

HOUSE OF WOODWIND (A. Parramore) was slow to begin.

MISS JUBA (A. Pattillo) began awkwardly and struck the barrier gates.

SAUCER OF MILK (G. Farrer) and RED PILL (M. Cant) were caught wide in the middle stages.

At the 1100m., REAR ADMIRAL (B. El-Issa) began to overrace for a short distance.

Approaching the 200m., THORPE (J. Sharp) was momentarily held up for clear running.


Race 8: QRSE L.J. Hooker Property Management Kawana Waters Class 1 H'cap - 1400m.
1st -Tearinupthecountry 2nd - Frottage 3rd - Demour 4th - Mexican Gem

B. El-Issa was examined after riding in race 7 and was stood down from his engagement on POOP DECK PAPPY. A. Parramore was substituted as the rider of POOP DECK PAPPY.

On return to scale a protest was lodged by A. Pattillo, rider of the 3rd placegetter, DEMOLIR, against FROTTAGE being declare 2nd, alleging interference from the 400m. to the winning post. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol video, stewards found that any shift from FROTTAGE, as claimed by A. Pattillo, and any interfernce suffered did not warrant a reversal of placings. The protest was therefore dismissed and Judge's placings confirmed.

MAIZ SON (M. Cant) was slowly away and inconvenienced between TEARINUPTHECOUNTRY (M. Cahill), which jumped in, and FORGOT (M. Rice), which jumped out.

POOP DECK PAPPY (A. Parramore) was tightened for room at the start between TRIPLE TIME (M. Palmer) and DEMOUR (A. Pattillo), which shifted out.

Shortly after the start, FORGOT shifted out and brushed MAIZ SON, causing that horse to become unbalanced.

Near the 400m., FROTTAGE shifted out and brushed DEMOLIR.

Approaching the 150m., DEMOLIR moved in, making contact with FROTTAGE.

Apprentice M. Palmer (TRIPLE TIME) reported that his saddle slipped near the 1000m., placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
