Jockey J. Byrne was fined $100 for failing to fulfil his engagement on DIVINITY DASH at the above meeting.
Race 1: Browns Plains Chiropractic Centre QTIS Maiden 3yo Plate – 1400m
1st – Celestafy 2nd –Rollins 3rd – Timecall 4th – Little Pigen
The start of this race was delayed as a result of HOTACT (K. Cunningham) being fractious in the barriers.
THREE TALES (G. Geran) was tightened for room on jumping away between DENVER BELLE (M. Heagney) and TIMECALL (R. McMahon), which was taken out by HOTACT (K. Cunningham).
HOTACT was inclined to shift out under pressure over the final 200m.
REGAL BOO (S. Cormack) raced greenly over the final 150m.
K. Cunningham, rider of HOTACT, expressed concern with the horse’s action during the event.
Following this event the track rating was upgraded to Dead 5.
Race 2: Kawana Dental Practice 4yo & Up Maiden H’cap – 1400m
1st – Gracemere 2nd – Pe Te Cruiser 3rd – Sally Jo 4th –Thewayoflife
ENFORCEABLE (K. Cunningham) was slow into stride.
PE TE CRUISER (M. Hancock) overraced in the middle stages.
Leaving the 800m, ARCHWAY’S BLISS (S. Cormack) and ELTON’S SON (B. El-Issa) came together and bumped.
Passing the 300m, GRACEMERE (M. Heagney) and PE TE CRUISER came together and bumped when attempting the same run between ROMANTIC VENTURE (R. McMahon) and VONMARKNDUNC (S. Mossman).
CONDAMINE HOPE (T. Chambers) was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and near the 400m shifted out, making contact with THEWAYOFLIFE (T. Pannell).
VONMARKNDUNC, ELTON’S SON (B. El-Issa), TIGER TERRIFIC (G. Butler) and ARCHWAY’S BLISS (S. Cormack) raced wide throughout.
Race 3: Extended Learning Centre Maiden Plate - 1000m
1st – Citiwyse 2nd – Asenjar 3rd – Martha’s Vineyard 4th - Roadster
EMDAYL (C. Dixon) and MISS IRONSIDE (M. Palmer) came together and bumped on jumping away.
CITIWYSE (G. Geran) and ZIBO (E. Wilkinson) also bumped at the start.
IGOTMINE (K. Cunningham) began awkwardly.
MARYLYN (J. Piper) and RENEGADE DANCER (M. Hughes) were both slow to begin.
RENEGADE DANCER (M. Hughes) had a tendency to race greenly over the final 300m.
MARYLYN and WITH FINESSE (S. Galloway) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 4: Peregian Family Medical Centre Class 1 H’cap - 1600m
1st – Encargo 2nd – La Marianne 3rd – Sarelie 4th - Dawns Queen
REIS HOS (M. Heagney) and IDYLLIC DANEHILL (R. Hancock) were slow to begin.
Leaving the 1400m, DAWNS QUEEN (S. Cormack) overraced on the heels of STARELIE (R. Wiggins) and shifted out, forcing INTREPID JOURNEY (J. Byrne) wider on the track. INTREPID JOURNEY was then obliged to race wide until the 1000m.
DAWNS QUEEN had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 300m, and approaching the finish of the event when endeavouring to obtain clear running, shifted out and bumped ERINESE (M. Hughes).
Near the 200m, LA MARIANNE (M. Cahill) was momentarily tightened for room when racing between HUNTER DANE (S. Galloway) and INTREPID JOURNEY, both of which shifted ground.
IDYLLIC DANEHILL (R. Hancock) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 5: The Surf Club Mooloolaba Class 6 H’cap - 1200m
1st – Kanpeki 2nd – Stylized 3rd – See The Flames 4th – Monte Cavallo
BESORAA (C. Dixon) was slow to begin.
DROP OF HENNESSY (D. Green) and KANPEKI (E. Wilkinson) both began awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, SEE THE FLAMES (M. Morris) shifted out, taking STYLIZED (S. Cormack) wide, which resulted in DROP OF HENNESSY and KANPEKI bumping.
MONTE CAVALLO (S. Galloway) overraced in the early stages.
Approaching the 800m, DROP OF HENNESSY had to be steadied off the heels of KANPEKI, which shifted in. E. Wilkinson, rider of KANPEKI, was advised to exercise more care.
Race 6: Lifestyle Windows Class 2 H’cap – 1400m
1st – Werockit 2nd – Week Nights On 3rd – Certiori 4th – Aquarius
DIVE AT FIVE (C. Isdale), which began awkwardly, was tightened along with WEEK NIGHTS ON (M. Morris) by MIGHTY CANNY (B. El-Issa), which shifted in, and AQUARIUS (M. Heagney), which was taken out by WEROCKIT (A. Pattillo).
WEROCKET overraced and hung out near the 800m.
Near the 500m, DIVE AT FIVE (C. Isdale) was tightened for room when racing between MIGHTY CANNY (B. El-Issa), NASADISPUTE (G. Butler) and WEROCKIT (A. Pattillo), which shifted out to improve. A. Pattillo, rider of WEROCKIT, was reprimanded for failing to provide sufficient racing room when shifting ground.
Leaving the 400m, MIGHTY CANNY (B. El-Issa) was momentarily tightened for room when racing between WEROCKIT and NASADISPUTE (G. Butler), which shifted out to improve.
MIGHTY CANNY and WEROCKIT both raced wide for the majority of the event.
MIGHTY CANNY lost its off hind plate in running.
Race 7: Butler McDermott Lawyers Class 3 Plate - 1000m
1st – Old Trick 2nd – Al Fawzi 3rd – Our Mr Stilts 4th – Rising Storm
Trainer D. Murphy was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for OLD TRICK by the prescribed time.
ÉCLAIR (S. Cormack) was tightened for room on jumping away between KRISALO (M. Morris) and AL FAWZI (J. Piper), which shifted in.
RISING STORM (G. Butler) was slow into stride.
Near the 400m, KRISALO was crowded for room when racing between AL FAWZI and MR STANDFAST (R. Wiggins), which was taken out by CHARDONAIR (A. Badger).
Leaving the 200m, MR STANDFAST and AL FAWZI came together and brushed.
Race 8: Zoe’s Plate Class 1 H’cap - 1200m
1st – Alright Man 2nd – Mulga Bob 3rd – Amerrybridge 4th – Menotti
The start of this race was delayed as a result of IT AIN’T HALF HOT (W. Clasohm) proving difficult to load.
HAYLERGAL (S. Cormack) and LUKE (A. Badger) came together on jumping away.
Leaving the 800m, PULL THE WOOL (B. El-Issa) shifted in and bumped MR MEGS (K. Cunningham).
Leaving the 400m, MENOTTI (M. Hughes) was crowded for room when racing between LUKE and HAYLERGAL (S. Cormack), which shifted out to improve.
SATURN FIVE (E. Wilkinson), which was caught racing wide, hung out rounding the home turn. When questioned regarding the performance of SATURN FIVE, E. Wilkinson stated that the filly raced ungenerously throughout running.
