Race 1: - Brothers Leagues Club Maiden Plate – 1200 metres
1st - RANGILA 2nd - TARANIS 3rd - MY GIRL CHARLIE 4th - WHO’S YOUR CADDY

A NEW STARLIGHT – Crowded for room at the start.

TARANIS- Began awkwardly then raced wide throughout.

SHAREEFAH - Passing the 600 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of another runner, which shifted in when not quite clear. On the home turn and in the early part of the straight when weakening was inclined to lay in, bumped the hindquarters of another runner and then for some distance thereafter was awkwardly placed on heels.

I’M MARIAH - Passing the 600 metres shifted in when not quite clear. Rider advised to exercise more care. In the early part of the home straight had to be shifted out and was disappointed for clear running until approaching the 200 metres.


Race 2: - MAXGAMING Class 6 Plate – 1300 metres
1st – ARCATRAN 2nd – PRETTY GULLY 3rd - CARRY ME 4th – INSIDE PAGE

INSIDE PAGE – Fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly, then raced three wide throughout.

CARRY ME - Approaching the first turn, near the 900 metres, shifted in when not clear and crowded another runner, which was taken in and bumped another runner, then for the remainder of the event was inclined to lay out. Apprentice L. Attard was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in.

SKITTER – Crowded for room and taken inwards near the 900 metres turn.

DAZZLE ON – Bumped by another runner near the 900 metres turn.

Race 3: - Foxtel Pallarenda Stakes QTIS 2-Y-O Maiden Plate – 1000 metres
1st – MCCAPHE 2nd – RYLEE’S SAGA 3rd - REGAL ROTH 4th – HORSTYLE 5th – NIC’S DRAGON

NIC’S DRAGON - As the start was effected reared, shifted out abruptly and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout.

RYLEE’S SAGA – Was slow to begin.

ALL BAR LILY – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly when the pace steadied near the 600 metres.

REGAL ROTH – Raced keenly when the pace steadied near the 600 metres.

Race 4: – KONAMI Handicap - 1000 metres
1st – EUREKA DUBAI 2nd – LE CAP 3rd – WHITSUNDAY EXPRESS 4th – ALL THE TORQUE

EUREKA DUBAI – Slow to begin.

ALL THE TORQUE – Passing the 200 metres shifted out and made contact with another runner.

STEEL DRAGON – Contacted by another runner leaving the 200 metres.

Race 5: – JLT BenchMark 60 Handicap – 1630 metres
1st – TUPPENY’S OPINION 2nd – BLU AXIS 3rd – DON’T THINK DO 4th – BLUEY’S ESCAPE

LIBERTY’S MAGIC – Slow to begin.

TUPPENY’S OPINION – Rider P. Cullen cautioned under A.R. 137A(4)(b) regarding using his whip in an action that raised his whip above shoulder height.

STRAITS OF GIBRALTAR – App. L. Attard cautioned under A.R. 137A(4)(b) regarding using his whip in an action that raised his whip above shoulder height.

DARUNA – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance the jockey explained that the gelding travelled comfortably throughout in a rearward position, but when placed under pressure prior to straightening his mount failed to respond and was disappointing. He added that in his opinion the gelding may not have handled the heavy impost of 62.5kg.
A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in the near foreleg. Trainer J. Morris was advised that he must furnish a veterinary clearance prior to DARUNA being permitted to race again.

Race 6: – Great Northern Brewing Company Class 3 Plate - 1000 metres
1st – MORE THAN A SONG 2nd – ACCIDENTAL 3rd – VIA CON DIOS 4th – MAINSHAFT

MAINSHAFT - Due to a clerical error MAINSHAFT was shown in the race book as racing without blinkers. Public announcements were made advising that the gelding will race with blinkers on. Passing the 600 metres shifted in and away from another runner and in doing so bumped another runner.

KELCHEZ – Began awkwardly.

ACCIDENTAL - Blundered leaving the 250 metres.

MORE THAN A SONG - Leaving the 200 metres shifted in under pressure and carried another runner in, resulting in that runner becoming momentarily awkwardly placed on heels. App. S. Fawke was advised to exercise more care.

MIATA – Leaving the 200 metres was carried inwards and became momentarily awkwardly placed on heels.

VIA CON DIOS – On returning to scale rider reported that her mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event.

Race 7: - Independent Liquor Group Class 2 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st – HANDYMAN BOB 2nd – DUBAWI’S IMAGE 3rd – HYDRIVE 4th – FIRMITAS

HANDYMAN BOB – Shifted out abruptly at the start.

RUNABOUT – Crowded for room shortly after the start. The rider reported that her mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event and over the concluding stages shifted out and bumped another runner on a number of occasions.

DIURNAL TIGER – When questioned regarding the gelding leading in the event the rider stated that from a wide barrier and over an increased distance the gelding was able to obtain a prominent position and, rather than be caught wide, he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and assume the lead.

DAMKY – When the pace steadied leaving the 800 metres had to be steadied from the heels of runners in front.

MAL’S PRIDE – Over the concluding stages was tightened for room.

HENASAR – Bumped on a number of occasions over the concluding stages.
